I miss you, Love. Hope you're doing well out there. Remember to eat and snack if you're working long nights!
He missed him too. Goddess, did he miss this caring, loving and supportive man. How did he get himself such a catch? He wonders this often, and sometimes in the middle of shoots when he’s suppose to be focusing. ‘What did I do to deserve such a lover?’ He asks himself over and over, countless times as he reads the words on the little note on the table. He’s been working a lot lately, movie sessions one behind the other. He’s never given the chance to rest, and he hates it, sure. But it was his life, but at times like this, on holidays such as this. He often wondered should he implore in the world of romance. Yeah sure, he would woo anyone he pleased, since such a thing was damn near easy to do. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out, but when it came to only wanting to woo that one perfect person. Vanitas was almost for a lost. Repliku was damn near perfect, beautiful, different, just everything he could ask for. And to say the least, it was damn hard to find a ride or die kinda guy like him. ❛ Damn. . I should have reserved something for you. . ❜ He mumbles to himself as he roams around the room, thinking on just what he could do so last second. Hand already tugging at jet black tresses, racking his mind on thinking just what he could do today. ‘Maybe I can ask him to come with me to that dinner boss is holding. . ‘ He questions, since maybe it was that time to confess to little Sora about his relationship.
A part of him doesn’t want to mention anything to the little one though, for this gem was his little secret. Yet, countless times over and over, he started to think. ‘ But he means a lot to me, and the Sora should know about him.’ And it’s a great thought, a way to truely give the child some kind of understanding that his older brother is allowed to date and anything else that comes with that. Of course, it worries him to no end, and Sora was starting to wonder himself was he going to get a new brother. Geez, how was he suppose to explain everything to the boy? ❛ Fuck it, I’l just tell him I found someone special and it happens to be his babysitter. . ❜
That should be enough of an explanation to the young boy right? Of course it was, because no matter what he wasn’t going to loose someone like Repliku. Who could you say wouldn’t mind you being in the porn business, and still loved and appreciated you as a person? No one, well maybe some, some people wouldn’t have judged him, but still, he had to do something. And it may have been late, and it may have not been the best, but he was going to reserve a nice place, he just had to make a couple of phone calls. And maybe find a babysitter as well. ❛ Well…shit. . ❜

Relationships: Mending sibling relationship between Riku and Repliku, discussion of Repliku/unnamed boyfriend (b/c i didn’t wanna pick one over another)
Misc. Notes: While I wrote this specifically with my Repliku that I use to RP (and then took a long break) - I think this can probably still be read as a short one-shot drabble.
Chinese New Years was always a bit hard for Repliku. It’s a yearly task to just find the strength to suck up and hang on to dear life for the next few hours until the family judgement is over. The anxiousness did built as he traveled all the way back home though...
It didn’t happen this year. Actually, with each passing year that Repliku’s live away, it seemed to have gotten a bit easier in general to find the energy to pack, say goodbye to his boyfriend, and take a train to head home to see his family. During the train ride he got to listen to a huge chunk of a podcast. There was still a bit of nervousness, but Repliku found he more or less accepted that there will always be standards he couldn’t live up to and there’s no reason to fret over it.
Despite the easier time getting himself to come home, the awkwardness remained relatively the same - mostly with being in the same presence as Riku. It was almost a routine whenever they are within arms reach of each other and the relatives seemingly appear out of nowhere to state “how big you two have gotten” and something about Repliku having lost muscles over the years and how it’s not manly (said each year by the same Uncle no less) or something about how Repliku didn’t have a girlfriend yet and how will he give grandchildren without one and he’s already adult, yada, yada, yada...
Repliku could probably reenact an entire holiday with his family if he wanted to. There was still the standard small talk he could do and try not to say anything that someone else could easily drag Riku’s name in. Though some things become unavoidable by the time they sat down for dinner as the pair must (unspoken rule) sit beside each other.
The only upside to this is that Riku usually gets hammered with small talk questions. It was always more interesting to hear about successes than the “maybe not failing” stuff. Like always though, Riku answered with patience and well articulated answers. While that always made Repliku bitter, now he couldn’t help but appreciate the quiet time as he got to zone out while he ate instead of trying not to act nice to passive-aggressive questions.
Also routinely, his father usually ends up finally speaking up to shift the conversation so his son could eat instead of entertaining everyone the entire night. Repliku always wondered how one of the most quiet people he’s ever known had the most talkative relatives. You’d think said-relatives would recognize the fact the fact that this entire family unit is pretty quiet, including the twins’ mother. God, Riku must’ve gotten his poker face from her with how well she holds a straight face masked with kind words and patience when she has to address her husband’s side of the family. Maybe that’s why Riku always seemed like he was her favorite...
Repliku shook those thoughts away as he focused on dinner and only having to occasionally deal with an overbearing Aunt.
After dinner, it was time that everyone got to mingle (some more), but this is usually when Repliku found himself hiding away in his old room. It was tempting as it always was, as it’s far quieter upstairs, and he can maybe text or call his boyfriend before the night ends. He didn’t get a chance to when he saw Riku over by some of their cousins and then gestured for his brother to come closer.
Making sure there was no one behind him that Riku might’ve been addressing instead, Repliku eventually made his way to the large table that their cousins were playing Settlers of Catan on. Riku wasn’t playing, but simply stood to watch with a drink in his hand. It didn’t take long for awkwardness to sink in when Riku didn’t say anything and Repliku wasn’t sure if he wanted to voice something first.
“Didn’t tell the folks about the boyfriend huh?” Riku asked, though he didn’t sound very confident in his opening question. Just recognizing that fact was almost a surprise to Repliku as he’s rarely seen the older twin lack confidence in anything.
“...no?” Repliku replied, more confused at the suddenness of the question than the actual question. “I mean...they don’t need to know yet. It’s not...serious?”
“Haven’t you two been seeing each other for a few years now?”
“I know but...it’s just one of those things. What am I supposed to tell them when they ask me to talk about him or what he does for a living? There’s no way to make any of that sound good the moment they insist on details.”
“I suppose so...“
Repliku waited for his brother to continue only to be met with a moment of silence again. Was this a silent permission to leave? The awkwardness only came back with how short that conversation went!
“Can I at least hear about him?” Right when Repliku felt confident enough to take a step away, Riku seemed to have sensed it and stopped his brother from running away.
Repliku turned himself enough to face Riku and so he can stop pretending to find the off-white wall of theirs interesting to look at. “...What do you want to know?”
Annoying. That’s what Repliku almost answered with. Annoying, but...sweet, caring, and just...wonderful in ways he didn’t know how to describe. The words he kept thinking of didn’t come out of his mouth though, as he just ended up opening and closing his mouth a few times instead.
Instead of forcing the answer out, Repliku let out a tired sigh. “...Look, I’ll be frank with you. I’m not...used to this yet,” Repliku vaguely gestured at the space between him and his brother. “I know it’s not like you to do anything, literally anything, if I were to talk about him or introduce him and all that...but I’m not used to sharing things...that are...mine...” his voice trailed off as he spoke and he found his head dipping lower as he went when his confidence was drained out in a single sentence. He wasn’t even sure if Riku caught the whole thing but it wasn’t something he wanted to look up and check.
“I see...”
Well Riku didn’t sound mad at least, though he wasn’t giving much of an indication to what he was feeling at all. “You don’t need to explain,” Riku added before Repliku could find the words to blabber an excuse with. “I’m not upset. I’m not...the greatest at this either. This...talking thing that Sora should be here doing for me frankly.”
This unexpectedly got a small laugh to escape from both of them. Sora might as well have been the translator between the twins over the years.
“Yeah...that was always one of Sora’s strong points. How’s...he doing? And everyone else for that matter.” Sora. How long has it been since he even heard that name let alone hear it and then not hear what the guy’s been up to.
“Well,” Riku suddenly looked more relaxed now that the conversation shifted, “Hard to say. Time’s been going by so fast you know? Sora’s still having trouble sticking with a major so does work and school. Kairi was valedictorian of her grade and she’s debating if she should continue her education, one of these dozens of programs, or just jump into the workforce - no, she didn’t want me to help. Roxas seems to be taking a break and focusing on his music but we haven’t spoken much lately. He seems to up and disappear a lot that Sora doesn’t even know where he does but I guess I don’t need to be a parent about it so long as Sora is not worried; and Namine...” Riku suddenly stopped upon catching his slip-up.
“She went off to Radiant Garden last I heard. Got a scholarship and everything.” Repliku finished for him.
“Right. But ah...sorry, not to change topics, but that did remind me: are you staying longer than the weekend?”
Repliku only shrugged. It was more lonely than he remembered traveling for so long by yourself that he almost didn’t want to leave just to avoid the long trip back.
“Because...I’m sure everyone would like to see you again. You’re always here and gone in an instant that they never get a chance to catch you. And you do look like you got skinnier over the years so I’m sure all your old clothes in the closet can still fit if you didn’t pack for more than a weekend stay.”
There was nothing Repliku could find that he could dispute. It really has been a while since he saw everyone - Roxas being the last person he saw within the past year by pure coincidence (guess he could safely deduce that no one really knows how far out Roxas travels?), but other than that...
Repliku rubbed the back of his neck as he thought about it, but he could feel his heart yearning. His mind was already dwelling in memories, good ones, that he seemingly forgotten about for a while now. Despite all the time Riku had everyone to himself, he seemed to imply everyone still wanted to see the younger twin too...?
If it was any other year, Repliku found he might’ve just said no on the spot. He could barely face Riku let alone everyone else. Yet now he had trouble finding an excuse. “I suppose...I can let my you-know-who know I may be back later than what I planned.”
Riku’s smile was all that was needed to know in how important this must’ve meant to him. As Repliku texted his boyfriend he couldn’t help but dwell in nostalgia. The jittery feeling that plagued Repliku’s stomach at just the idea of seeing everything and anyone that extended from Namine was nonexistent now. It almost seemed silly how worked up and worried he got over everything but maybe the separation from all that helped with dealing and facing emotions that he didn’t know what to do with at the time.
“Geez...I’m getting old...” Repliku murmured to himself. Was this what growing up felt like? Not that he felt that much older or wiser than an average college student would, but there was comfort in recognizing the stark changes in his feelings towards everything around him - especially Namine. He can say he missed her without having a whole baggage of other emotions and problems that came with it. Maybe he can actually face her in-person now...
Riku tossed Repliku into a group message and was unexpectedly, but quickly, bombarded with a series of texts. Wow, was Sora always this fast of a texter? As Repliku tried to keep up with the onslaught of messages, he took in a breath to calm himself and get rid of remaining nerves that would’ve had him working on one text message for over 30 minutes.
Maybe he’ll end up say something silly, but it shouldn’t be too bad with how easy it was to simply accept that he is wanted in these text conversations. It meant the world knowing after all these years, his friends back home still welcomed him as if he never left.
[I came back to de-clutter stuff. But coming back is just me missing my son all over again! T ~T
Idk if I still got active followers though since I obviously went a tad inactive for a bit.
Considering picking him up again, but I’d have to find people all over again. I’m still in Dragon Age hell tho lol! Gotta resist stalking those DA blogs with a KH character!]
