Her lips parted to evoke a surprised squeak, then followed by a gasp as the motion of her falling form stopped from meeting the earth. Her head tossed back to see her escort clutching the folds of her gown, the strain creating small tears that threatened to come undone if she didn’t act soon. Regaining her foothold, she scrambled to push off the ground and stand, turning towards him with a grateful yet sheepish look.
"I-I’m sorry. I didn’t see…" A pink tint colored her cheeks at her blunder. "T-thank you Rogue, for catching me…"
The momentary union of their bodies ended scant seconds after its establishment, though through it her safety was reestablished. Red hues served as filter through which her body was examined, allowing even the slightest of scratches to be caught by swift observation. And then he spoke, once he was sure she was okay, tone calm and collected. "No need to apologize. It is my duty to see to it that you are not harmed, and for that I would risk it all."
