Halls of my heart
The city of my heart,
Bustled with joy
When you graced its throne
The city did thrive
Vibrant and joyous and
……
Alive
And then you abdicated
Said the crown was too heavy,
That it was a burden
And u weren’t ready.
The walls fell then,
And the city did die,
Like Craco it crumbled,
Buried under the grey sky
At times i tread the halls,
A memorabilia of the past,
Reminder of the bitter truth,
That some things aren’t meant to last.
That even if i wished upon
every shooting star,
All would have ended just like it did,
In pain and broken hearts.
But i do wonder still,
Were u my savior or a vice?
Were you the prime of my lovely city,
Or the trigger of its demise?
