Sima You
"…Ah. I see." Jia Chong gave a slight nod, a heavy sort of feeling in his chest at the other’s words. Moving aside to allow Shaiming entrance and saying nothing further on the subject, for more would only seem like coddling, he instead said, "There’s an available guest room down the hall. Third on the left."
"...Thank you," The young one stepped forward, legs dragging as he did so. Once he was beyond the threshold, however, he turned and let one of his lands curl rigid and bony fingers around the adviser's arm. The touch was barely there, but enough to be noticed, and lasted for only a moment before sliding back down to rest at the Sima's side. The silence was unbearable, though he would soon turn himself away, using the wall to prop himself up, "...How've you been?"
"Shaiming."
"Mmh," The ebonet swallowed down his pride, fingers twitching nervously at his sides, "Can I... hide here for a while?" Silvery eyes slid up to connect with icy blue, his lips pulled into a frown that marred his features, "I'm not doing well... it's about that."
"Gonglu..."
Weifeng still clung onto the sword, ensuring that it would not touch her precious friend as Min gave a small breath. He didn’t LIKE being noticed, per se. But this was going to be rather dire quickly. If the link still held on Shaiming. It would also alert You of the sword’s whereabouts.
Alright. I don’t know his exact location. But what both Yunqi and I know is that he is not here. Rumors tend to offer some truth after all. He’s missing.
"… That was awfully rude of you Min… And you didn’t ask…."
I know, I know. Thought you would tell them of that name at least. No. I do not. It’s Mommy’s name for me. "… We could look for him… We should before Taiyou notices and gets worse…"
"I see." Shaiming narrowed his eyes, head shaking from side to side, "But you know the truth, don't you? We're the same, you and I . Created from diving magic and yet unable to become our true selves." The ebony-haired shadow tilted his head to one side, eyes narrowing ever-so-slightly. "I need to take care of something, once and for all. If you feel like coming with me... then that's your decision."
He'd been planning on doing away with this connection for some time. Especially before the abyss consumed his thoughts. Noting the girl's name, the Sima's eyes narrowed ever-so-slightly, keeping that name to himself and locking it away in his thoughts. "I'm going to the Sima house. The place where my name used to mark... before I was me."
She moved the blade away from him, flinching as she did so. Her hands were far too numb to her now to let go. But… They had to. They had to remove the sword from Taiyou. He has gone mad… She can’t do that. She can’t handle the madness that was consuming Taiyou…
And she could never stomach his death by the Mystics if they knew.
"… I… I had to… He… He has gone worse Heise…. I had to… I had to… Before… He abuses the weapon…. Min told me… I….I had to lie…. To remove it…. But…. I can’t…Leave it there….."
Don’t think he wants to know where that man is at. Wh…? We are right. … Then… Mister Ice Person is not here.
She only shook her head, being honest on the location of the man… Yet her hands shook from the mere shock of pain that came over her.
"H-hey. Watch where you're pointing that thing." He replied before pausing at the sound radiating from around her. - Oh yes. He could hear it. It was a product of the weapon she'd taken... just like him.
He couldn't see it, no. For he was a lie all in itself. Everything about him was a lie- every single detail. In fact, there were very few things he could actually count off that had only just begun to be true.
"Yeah, well. That's what these things do. The Seven-Star-Sword is known to drive people nuts. It takes things from them. Bits and pieces of sanity. Didn't you read about it before- no. Of course not. Taiyou doesn't read." Shaiming's hand reached up to brush against his hair, head cocking to one side. This time, he asked again.
"...I asked if you knew where Zihuan was," Shaiming replied, though he then amended his statement, "...You or your... little friend. The one that's like me."
"If only we could be together forever"
It hadn’t been an easy thing to swallow, her lie made her sting. Her body wracked with slight pain, as the dragon’s presence went to her hands. Her body felt numb, cold as icy waters… Gripping a covered sword and clinging upon it to her dear life.
If Taiyou knew the betrayal… She would be finding far more pains than just with her current relation.
She would be hurting You far more.
The voice brought her out of the numbness, her bright green eyes outlined her obvious fears, “… H… Heise?”
"You still call me that? I'm looking for Zihuan... have you seen him?" Shaiming asked gently, looking down at the frightened girl with a somewhat worried expression. "What on earth are you doing out here at this time of night? Alone, no less. Shouldn't someone be with you?"
Normally he wouldn't have been so concerned- but her appearance spoke volumes. Had someone tried to hurt her? Perhaps she'd been in a fight or something? "What's that you're holding?" He asked, looking toward the cloth-covered blade in her hands. "Did you get-"
No. I know that ringing noise. That... sound...
It was a loud, god-awful screeching that filled his ears, pupils dilating as he stared at the fabric covering what he knew was underneath. He took several steps backward, legs beginning to tremble. "Weifeng, why do you have that?"
"I do not regret my decision."
"...Hn?"
Shaiming's eyes moved at the sudden burst of color. He'd been out for a walk... odd of him, he knew. When one could barely move and find their way outside, he of all people had decided to stroll in the moonlight. It was the familiar sight of red that had caught his attention. Such a rare color to rest upon a head.
"...Weifeng?"
She gave a small nod in the black form, her smile warming steadily as Weifeng just stayed right there. It made her happy now, to not be alone. To have someone there meant wonders, and stayed put right there.
But the thought of marriage made her smile fade slightly. She loved him very much but with his distance and his pains, and he would not talk at all. And it made her scared.
"I know… I am glad for that… But I am scared for him too….. However, I think I can manage."
"You'll be fine." He assures her, pressing a hand to her forehead to push her back and forward like a tether-ball. It was strange, acting so friendly when he should hate her so much...
But he really felt anything anymore. Anything but the strange love he had for everyone around him. It was sickening, really. But nothing he could control.
"Hey... can I ask you something?" He asked, though waited for no reply. "...How do you feel about me?"
"Calm down, boy… you have no idea how much upset you can excite my senses…" He said shamelessly, raising one of his hands to grab Shaiming’s shoulder, firmly enough to make him understand that it might hurt if he tried to get rid of that grip on him. "No matter if it pleases you or not, for me you only are a little boy" He walked a little closer, his grip tightening to order him silently to sit down on the bed. "I came here for you…"
"What are you doing?" He asked, reaching up to grab hold of the other's wrist. It was like steel while clamped around his shoulder, the proximity making his body lean back, knees pressing against the mattress before falling into a sitting position.
"I suggest you check yourself. What exactly do you think you are doing?"
"I… Shenyu," he starts, words failing him for the first time in many years. What was he supposed to say? His painstakingly practiced phrases stuck in his throat, every imaginable response seeming hollow and insincere before the enormity of the request set upon his shoulders. "I cannot… I mean, I can’t promise you that will be able to grant your wish. But what I can promise…"
He thought of Tianmei, of Xin and Zhi, of Li and You. ”Even if I am unable to change the hearts of the people, I will strive to change the world for the better. To build a land where the seeds of strife cannot take root in the hearts of loved ones.”
"Very well, Sima Shaiming. I will dedicate my talents to the completion of your request."
"Good." Shenyu replied, pressing his hand to he top of the kid's head. He was so ... stiff. Perhaps being around others would help that? He didn't know... but he hoped so. Letting his fingers fall back to his side, Shaiming then turned his head to the skies, arms lifting to rest behind his head. "That's good. That's good."
"Well then. I'm hungry. Are you hungry?"
"I could go for food... after all, taste is something I won't have after a while and- there are many things I have yet to try. Care to follow me into the markets this afternoon?"
He stopped his progress next to the bed, looking at the boy and seeking into the human’s memory to know a little more about that soul… such a special one and the dark man seemed really attached to this boy, what made his smile become more insane. "So… you did not like my lullaby, little boy? I’m pained."
When the youngest sat up, the demon could not help but look at that pale skin, biting slightly on his bottom lip for such a pleasant sight ”Don’t even dare to get that kind of thoughts with him, disgusting wretch of hell!” Was the only struggle the human could make in his own head, what made the demon chuckle slightly
"Look. Can I help you with something or not?-" His expression became much less friendly, "Little boy? I think you've hit your head." Shaiming threw off the sheet, standing up to his full height to look the adviser square in the eyes. "I don't appreciate the smug tone. Now, what do you want?" He asks again, leaning in to stare at the blue eyes that reflected back in his silver ones.
"Did you come in here for something or not, Gonglu?"
"With pleasure…" He almost whispered.
He finally opened the door, walking into the room and closing it behind him when he was finally in. He silently walked toward the bed, his gaze was a little worried because of the human but the smile of the demon was not really reassuring.
"Why are you still up at this time, boy?"
"You woke me up. Now, can I help you?" He asked, obviously grumpy from being disturbed. "You and your singing can definitely wake someone up. I'm assuming there's a good reason for it?" Shaiming sat up slowly, pulling the blankets down from his chest. The skin was pale, glistening in what little moonlight poured into the room.
"Well?"
Youmei reflexively bowed his head as the ornate pendant was looped about his neck, touching his fingers to the cool jade once it had settled into place. “Are you certain you wish to give this to me? It must be very precious to you,” he reasoned softly, “certainly there is someone more deserving of it than I am?”
Repair the name of the Sima? How was he supposed to accomplish such a task? “I fear that you are overestimating my abilities, there must be another who is much better suited for this task. I…” Zhuo’s voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, “I have no idea where to even begin…”
"That is precisely what makes you perfect for the job. You don't over-estimate your abilities. You aren't hot-headed nor are you inflated with your own talents. You are, in some ways, the exact opposite of everything they are." Shaiming placed his hand on the boy's shoulder, staring down into the brown eyes that shown in the light.
"You have someone you want to protect... more than anything... right?" His fingers tightened along the bone, though only just. "You have people that mean the world to you... intelligence... now, it's just up to you to use that. Use that and help. Help the world. Help the people. Help bring my brother back his sanity. I have no one else to leave this to."
