I’m going to have to moan about work again. I just had a call off a woman wanting to return a dog to kennels because it bit her child out of nowhere and she is very shocked. The thing is yeah.. the dog was asleep. And your child went over to it to touch it and stroke it, and while his intentions were sweet and he wasn’t being horrible, she was told before adoption that the dog has handling issues. So this poor dog has issues with being touched and is fast asleep and your kid comes along and puts his hands on him, he was obviously surprised and it startled him! Why would you be shocked at that when the dogs issues are clearly given to you before adoption. People always call to complain down my fucking ear that we aren’t family friendly and it’s sooooo hard to adopt from us if you have kids, yeah well this is why! It’s not the dogs fault is it that he’s fast asleep and suddenly gets woken up being touched when he doesn’t like it and you know he doesn’t like it. And now he’s being brought back to kennels because you have absolutely no fucking common sense. The child isn’t even a little kid either, he’s a child that should be able to understand not to mess with a nervous dog while it’s sleeping
