What about Pixiv? I don’t like Pixiv’s layout or cumbersome tags, nor do I know many people who use it as an actual social site.

What about HentaiFoundry? I’ll likely update my HF more. Sketches aren’t really the content they like, but if/when I do more finished content, I’ll try and make a habit to post it on there. My HentaiFoundry is Drew.

What about Newgrounds? While I don’t have one just yet, I am considering using it as a gallery site. If I do so, I’ll post the link and all that on my Twitter.

Then don’t follow me. I don’t have much interest in a gallery site with a tiny English-speaking community (most of which is only there because they draw loli or shota).

Have you ever had new players/adventurers join the campaign as the story's plot and stakes were getting more high risk? There doesn't feel like an easy way for a group of adventurers, who have been fighting together for a while and are about to save an entire city from an undead queen, to take in a wandering bard who's traveling and seeing the sights but joins for the fun of it. Any advice?

Well, there’s two major points when it comes to incorporating new characters:

The player should be willing to keep in mind that they’re being introduced part way into the story. If you’re building up to defeating the undead queen, the bard should have a strong motivation to defeat them. Maybe it’s revenge, maybe it’s heroic duty - whatever it is, it’s needs to be strong enough to get them to volunteer for this adventuring strike team.However, it’s good to keep in mind that the character should have some other motivation in addition to this, so that they have a reason to keep adventuring after the queen bites it.

If they don’t have any strong motivation for that, then the best way to incorporate them is through circumstance. If they’re attacking the queen, maybe the guy was caught in the city and is trying to survive - the only hope he has of escaping is to team up with the party, he can’t make it out on his own. Or maybe he’s a prisoner that they free, he now has a short-term motivation to take out the queen and get out.

After that first meeting/adventure it’s pretty easy to keep a character in the party. The characters have bonded through RP, jokes, and life-threatening situations. They’ve become battle-brothers. It’s mostly getting past that first hurdle.

In any case, every adventuring party is going to have some suspension of disbelief/plot intertia involved. Most adventuring parties are characters from very different walks of life, and things are going to be at least a little bit contrived for that to work. That’s part of the healthy meta-game of a tabletop game: keeping in mind that when you create a character, that character needs to be able to travel with and work with the party. Otherwise, why make that character?

While I agree that mobile website design is garbage, you gotta remember stuff like animated 'Under Construction' gifs, Flash UIs, and social media integration button spam. "Mobile friendly" web design is just the latest wave of garbage website design, and I dread to see what comes next.

Oh, I remember. I remember a time when web portals were the only way to find most content. My main problem with mobile design on desktop compared to the previous dumpster fire trends is that the others were ugly and cluttered, but didn’t strip away functionality.

Most “mobile-friendly” design centers around condensing as much functionality into as few buttons as possible that fill as much of the screen as possible, making you ping-pong around from link to link just to get where a single click on desktop would’ve brought you before.

Only thing as bad as this were all the Flash sites back in the 00s. Holy shit that fad was terrible, I’m glad the plugin is getting Old Yeller’d.

Given that more than half of your players have had to make new characters during the campaign, do you even try to justify why the new characters are in the party or just "they're here now."?

I justify why they show up (though anything can boil down to just “coincidence”) - it’s up to the players to make characters that have personalities/objectives that line up with the party so that they can continue on after the first meeting/team-up.

Our new elf wizard, Priyanka, and dwarf barbarian, Hedrok, were encountered in the swamp near that magic tower. The party was pursuing the bandit (who’d made an action-movie level escape) and ran across the duo as the two were on their way east. Being good folks, they decided to help apprehend/slay the guy. In return, the party gave them a cut of the loot and traveled with them back to civilization. After that, their goals were intertwined.

The new goliath bard, Sven, arrived at the goblin caves with his other bard buddy, an NPC the party had already had a run in with, in order to help. The two were fetched by a rogue that the party had hired to disarm traps and escape - after the party trapped themselves in the tunnel, the rogue managed to get out and find the adventuring bard duo to ask for help. After all of that was sorted, the bard went off on his own business, so Sven joined up with the group to travel and collect tales.

The new human rogue, Jean, was a mercenary/adventurer recommended to the party by a local garrison captain they’d been doing jobs for. He knew they were about to embark on another job and needed some more help, so he set up a meeting. The first meeting was a bit stiff (they’d just lost a long-time party member), but they bonded through battle (the rogue managed to do more damage than anyone else put together thanks to some poison use).

Why would you ever want those? I like being able to compartmentalize my time so I’m not hooked into social media 24/7.

I almost exclusively use tumblr mobile cause it unifies the look and is usually way more pleasant. I don’t have to deal with some peoples shitty blog aesthetics, I know what will happen and how it’s gonna look. Sometimes on desktop I struggle finding the most mundane things like the “older posts” button.

Mobile users are destroying mainstream websites because their presence incentivizes unifying mobile and desktop design, resulting in a bunch of hideous Fisher Price garbage that works well for a Zoomer’s fat fingers slapping their phone, but not in a browser used by real human beings.

How long do your D&D sessions last to go from arcane elementals to undead corpse loot traps? Or would the correct question be "do your players just run past everything into other encounters"?

Pretty darn long. We start at 2PM and can play until anywhere from 8PM to 9PM. Though the first 30 minutes to an hour are usually just bullshitting and chatting.

That particular encounter was because they chased an enemy of theirs into an abandoned wizard tower. Each floor had been taken over by various magical fauna. The necromantic bonfire was the entire reason the villain was there - he sacrificed one of his own dudes to kick it into overdrive. That caused any dead things in the area to be brought back as undead - right at the same time that the dragonborn was pilfering the body of the wizard.

Most of the party was facing off against said villain (and subsequently disabling the bonfire) while the rogue was dying in a very poetic fashion.

A list of player character deaths in Shame Game:

Qindan Kelric the high elf Illusion Wizard (level 2, session 3) - Drained to death by arcane elementals when the party decided to sprint across a room full of them rather than engaging them.

Uwabami Daimon the gold dragonborn Rogue (level 2, session 3) - Killed by Qindan’s risen corpse as he tried to loot it while the rest of the party was dealing with the necromantic bonfire that was just lit.

Jakov Falbrook the human brute Fighter (level 4, session 6) - Slain via goblin ambush followed by hobgoblin decapitation when he rushed into a pitch black cave room that he knew a number of goblins were hiding in.

Gwyndolin Anders the human cavalier Fighter (level 4, session 8) - Dead from a terminal velocity fall from atop a griffon she was attempt to tame/break with brute force (we did the math - the chances of her dying were only about 4%, and yet...).
