article #1: elvin and evelyn
below youâll find an âarticleâ and exclusive interview between @elvvce & @xoevelynodell
As most of you know (or may not) before he was one half of iconic duo that are the hosts of Ghost Gallery, Elvin Croft was just your almost average NYU Student, and then he met Evelyn Oâdell. Evelyn was an upcoming model going to school for social work, and when the two met, they were immediately smitten. But the two quickly went through dark times, and neither party came out victorious. We got a very exclusive interview with both Elvin and Evelyn, and hereâs what they had to say:
Q: Can you give me and the audience just a brief overview of the relationship between you both?
Elvie: âNot really. Our relationship wasnât brief, but iâll try. Basically, we met during college at NYU three years ago, dated for two, then broke up about a year ago. We were really close and cared a lot about each other. She was my first love and there hasnât really been anybody else since then.â
Evie: âI can try? We met at NYU three years ago, he was the first person I met in New York, and I loved him. We were super close, and I cared for him more than Iâve cared for anyone. After he asked me out we dated for two years, and broke up about a year ago, give or take.â
Q: Can you explain to me and the audience why you two decided to end things? Can you also clarify whether the breakup was mutual? If not, who broke up with whom?
Elvie: âWe didnât decide to end anything. I was away from New York filming season one of my Netflix series called Ghost Gallery and while I was gone, Ev decided to start telling interviewers she was single even though I was pretty sure that we were still dating. I visited New York once when I had a few days off from filming and thatâs when we officially ended things, but sheâd obviously decided we were over way before then.â
Evie: âWe didnât decide on anything, if anything I messed up. Thatâs the best way I can put it. I put my career before my boyfriend, and I lost him in the process. Itâs something that Iâll always regret.â
Q: Did you two argue often?
Elvie: âNo. Not until around the time we broke up.â
Evie: âNo. We were really happy together until our breakup.â
Q: Did you ever cheat on the other?
Elvie: âAbsolutely not.â
Evie: ââOf course not, I loved him.â
Q: Are you both on good terms?
Elvie: âWe werenât until recently. Ev called me up and asked if we could meet. Basically, she wanted to try being friends and I agreed, so thatâs what weâre doing now.â
Evie: âNot until recently. I reached out to El because I wanted to make things right, right now weâre trying to be friends and thatâs it.â
Q: If you could go back and change one thing about your relationship, what would it be?
Elvie: âI donât know. Maybe Iâd make our break up less painful for the both of us.â
Evie: âIsnât it obvious? Iâd take back what I said about being single in the interview. Iâd take it all back.â
Q: Being 100% honest, who do you blame most for the break-up?
Elvie: âHonestly, I used to completely blame Ev for the break up, but since we started hanging out and trying to be friends Iâve realized we both had a part in the way things ended. Sure, something she did ( that interview where she said that she was single while we were still dating ) mightâve been the last straw, but everything that led up to that wasnât all her fault.â
Evie: âHonestly? I blame both of us. Obviously I know I messed up, but he iced me out before I could even explain. I donât think him returning my calls and texts couldâve salvaged our relationship, so yeah, Iâd say itâs both of us.â
Q: Will you give us a brief comparison of your first impression of the other. to your impression now?
Elvie: âWhen we first met, I really didnât think much of Evelyn at all. She was new on campus and I was asked to show her around, which I did. As for my impression of her nowadays...I mean, itâs complicated. A lot of shitâs happened since the day we met, but ultimately, sheâs someone who Iâll always care about and love in a way, but I also feel like she hurt me so badly that no matter how hard we try to just âbe friendsâ or whatever, things will never be as good as they once were.â
Evie: âWell when we first met, I wasnât really sure what to think of Elvie. He was my tour guide, and that was about it, outside of that I thought he was funny, he kept cracking jokes the entire time. My impression of him now? Iâm not really sure what to say, I still think that heâs funny. Heâs really kind, like just genuinely kind to everyone he meets, and itâll be something I always admire about him. Iâll always feel terrible for hurting him, but Iâll also always hope heâs doing good.â
Q: Do you still think about the other? How often?
Elvie: âRight after the break up she was all I could think about, but fortunately I quickly got busy with filming again and it really helped to take my mind off of her. By the time she reached out to me I really only thought about her every once in a while â mostly when I was feeling lonely or happened to see something that reminded me of her.â
Evie: âAt first it was basically everyday, every single thing reminded me of him. Chocolate twizzlers, haunted houses, halloween, just everything. But when I reached out, it was only every so often, when I couldnât sleep, or when I was scared of the lightning, silly stuff like that.â
Q: Did you keep the gifts given to you by the other?
Elvie: âYeah. I never really get rid of stuff.â
Evie: âAs much as I wanted to throw things out, I couldnât. So yeah, I kept everything.â
Q: What is your favorite memory together?
Elvie: âWow. Well, we had a lot of good times, so I dunno if i could really pick one that I would call my favorite, but we used to most nights together, just eating snacks and watching horror movies on her couch. It was such a simple thing, but we spending time alone like that so it made us happy.â
Evie: âI donât think I have a favorite in particular. We had so many great memories together, and itâll be really hard for me to pick one. But since I have to, I think itâd have to be spending Christmas together, his family was super nice, and I got to learn a lot about him, where he grew up, and all that good stuff.â
Q: What is your least favorite memory together?
Elvie: âOur break up. Isnât that obvious?â
Evie: âThe day that we broke up, if that isnât obvious.â
Q: Did you two ever have long term plans for the future?
Elvie: âNot really, but Iâm pretty sure neither of us imagined weâd ever break up.â
Evie: âNo? I had plans in my head, but I never really talked to him about them, we never quite got to that stage.â
Q: Looking back do you think of the relationship as a mistake?
Elvie: âNo. For the most part, those two years we had together were good. Some of the happiest I ever remember experiencing, even.â
Evie: âOf course not. Iâll never see the relationship as a mistake, those two years with him were some of the best years of my life, the best of my life, even.â
Q: With that being said is there any part of you that considers getting back together?
Elvie: âI think part of me will always want to be with her and only her, but I know it would be a bad idea for us to get back together after the way things ended last time. I wouldnât wanna go through that again and I donât think she would either.â
Evie: âWell I think Iâve always only ever wanted to be with him. Part of me is always going to miss hanging out with him, and kissing him, and staying up way later than I should to watch horror movies with him. So yeah, I think that if he was willing to Iâd get back together with him.â
As you can see the two are obviously harboring feelings for each other. Will they make up? Or decide to stay friends? My bet is that these two wonât be able to keep their âjust friendsâ facade up for long. Though only time can tell what the future holds for these two. Maybe Evelynâs feeling will fizzle out just their relationship. Or maybe Elvin will come to terms with feelings he has for someone else, and find much better than Evelyn. Either way you know Iâll be the first to have the scoop on these two, and all of our other lovely inhabitants of New York. Stay tuned for the next article.
