‘‘I thought joining the show again would make me happy, make me forget about all the miserable things in my life and get my best friends back. But no, here I am, my best friends nowhere to be found, watching old episodes where I was still happy and in love. Now all of that’s gone and I can’t even— Frankie, no don’t eat that,’‘ she corrected the black Pug when she noticed she had dropped a piece of icecream, picking it up with the 5-second rule playing in her head. ‘‘I can’t even eat ice cream. That’s it. I’m a total failure. I’ve never reached a lower point in life. Sitting in my pajamas, my pathetic self being filmed by cameras, with no acting career or manager— no love of my life.’‘
Blinking widely at the brunette’s mess of emotions, Shannon inched closer with caution to pat the other’s shoulder twice, “There, there.” The Irishwoman giggled at the pug, Frankie’s near-steal before pinching her expression when the older woman picked the piece of ice cream back up, “Yer not kiddin’ around, are ye?” She inhaled deeply and rolled her eyes warmly, assuring the stranger otherwise, “Yer not a failure fer droppin’ yer ice cream. Think there’d be plenty failures if’n that were a thing. And who doesn’t like sittin’ in their pjs?” She could understand the no career and love part of the woman’s argument, lacking in that department too. Well, she had a job, but stripping wasn’t exactly her choice of career. She took another look at the fellow contestant and decided to help. Gently encouraging the carton of ice cream down, Shannon took the woman’s hand in her own with a good shake, “I’m Shannon. And fer tonight, I’m yer honorary substitute best friend. Got any spare pjs fer me to squeeze into? I’m ready fer a chick flick marathon on the tele.”

“REALLY?” She asked excitedly, clapping her hands. “I can totally play off being an old friend.” Samiha nodded, happy to do whatever she could to get food. “I won’t do anything, cross my hearts and hope to die.” She said criss-crossing both her hearts, one with each hand. “What did you make for dinner?” she paused, “I hope its something rich.” She said, apparently hungrier than she thought she was.
When the woman asked what the TARDIS for she paused, debating on if she should tell her outright or skirt the subject more. But instead, when the woman asked a question she diverted it that way and narrowed her eyes playfully at the woman. “Oh–well then, you must not have really been dreaming.” She teased. “Maybe a waking dream.” She said nodding her head, smile fading as she spoke. “Because I am the Doctor.” Memories of what River told her rang through her mind. “They get the word from me you know,” she said, echoing River’s words as she followed the woman inside. “That is totally perfect.” The smile sliding on her lips again.
“Think ye mean heart, but sure. Whatever ye say,” Shannon responded with a bit of awe in her voice. Not the kind of awe you had in front of something spectacular, but in front of something so strange you were sucked in. She knit her red brows at the brunette’s falter, noting the lack of change in her words. There wasn’t such a thing as one doctor, but the Irishwoman had realized in their brief time together there was no point in arguing. So she nodded slowly, opting for the same reply, “Whatever ye say.” Inside the house, Shannon prepped a plate for the older woman and offered it to her. She withdrew, though her movement was reluctant. Part of her wondered if the woman was a figment of her imagination. After all, only she had heard the crash, had seen everything, was talking to the brunette. So maybe she should poke her.
No, that wasn’t right. Shaking her head briefly, Shannon refocused on the other woman’s face, “Ye don’t sound like yer around from here. Where ye’re from?” Leaning against the kitchen counter, she gestured meanwhile to the nearby kitchen table, offering the stranger a seat so she could eat. The redhead pursed her lips before adding, “If ye don’t like the food, ye’re welcome to whatever’s in the fridge.”

Samiha tilted her head as she peeked around the back side of the TARDIS. “I would hope you’re not scared, there’s nothing even remotely scary here!” she said shrugging, “If you’re not counting how hungry I am. Because the volume that my stomach is growling at sorta scares me.” She said giving the other woman a pout in hopes that she’d feed her. Of course, there was food on the TARDIS, but she wanted to try the local cuisine here and see if it was better than what was stuffed away in the box.
Hearing the girl call the TARDIS a police box she got insulted. Hand going to her chest. “The TARDIS is not a police box!” She said. “I mean–sure it looks like one and has the phone…” she said opening up the half door and pulling out the phone. “But it’s not meant for calling the police.” Samiha pursed her lips and looked at the girl as she pinched herself. “Why’d you do that? I mean–If you’re in a dream you can make yourself think you got hurt, trick your brain and all. You can feel, hear, smell, see and taste in dreams… That’s not a very good test for if you’re dreaming. ” She paused. “The best test is to try and read the same thing twice, it should change on the second glance,” she said with a little nod. She was about to say something else to add to the dream talk when she heard the year. “Ohh Fun year, fun year, interesting things happen in the second half the year. Though the first half has been pretty rough hasn’t it?” she said nose scrunched up a bit. “Me? I’m the Doctor.”
The hint was about as obvious as the woman was crazy. Shannon bit into her bottom lip, running her teeth over it for a moment in deep contemplation, before hesitantly offering, “Well, I’ve got some dinner cooked up in me home... Ye’re welcome to come in fer a bite. My wee brother, Lochlan’s inside. He’s goin’ to wonder who’re ye, so - just tell him ye’re an old friend of mine if he asks. Or else, it’s out with ye and I’ll call the real police.” The last thing she needed was for the brunette to say she fell from the sky in her police box, and Shannon had simply let her in. That wouldn’t go over well with her parents.
“Then what’s yer ‘TARDIS’ fer?” the Irishwoman asked curiously, thinking maybe it acted as shelter for the woman. Was she homeless? Maybe Shannon should be more sensitive. But she didn’t really look homeless; the girl noticed she also wasn’t that bad looking, and scolded herself for going there. Not the time to have small crushes on madwomen. Shaking her head to erase the thought, the redhead blinked back at the stranger, “Mrm, well what if I told ye I’ve read the same thing twice in me dreams? What then?” This time there was a hint of playfulness in her tone. She beckoned the brunette towards the house, all the while wondering what the other woman was going on about but not asking. “Doctor? Ye’re a doctor? -- If ye’re a doctor, I’m an astronaut. Why’d ye even say ‘the’ doctor? Not like there’s only one of ye, isn’t there?” After stepping into the home, Shannon moved aside for the brunette to come in, trying to sneak her into the kitchen without Lochlan hearing. He was too distracted by his games anyways. “Made burgers and chips. Unless ye wanted anythin’ else?”

Samiha’s eyebrows raised curiously. “Madwoman?” She said, a smirk slowly sliding over her lips. “Madwoman with a box.” She grinned large now as she climbed fully out of the box and shut the door. “But that’s no reason to be scared!” Samiha said leaning against the door now crossing her arms and watching the redhead.
A laugh came from her now. “Over the fence? Oh hun, there is no fence the TARDIS can’t get across.” she said closing her eyes as she leaned on the TARDIS, a happy sigh falling from her lips. “Oh don’t you worry about me! I’m totally fine! Just regenerated and i’m in great shape. No cuts or anything, my TARDIS on the other hand.” She looked to the blue box with sad puppy dog eyes and strolled around the outside, hand touching it as she moved, lingering on the bullet holes. “My poor baby.” She said before returning back to the front side and looking at the other girl. “But who are you?!” She asked excitedly. “Oh, and what year is it?”
That settles that then, Shannon thought as the older woman entertained the idea of being a madwoman, she’s definitely crazy. The redhead squinted at the grin before she stepped a few paces back, making sure to be at a reasonable distance in case of the woman pulled anything funny. Briefly, the girl worried about her brother who was still probably playing his video games in the living room. She’d protect him with her very life, she knew that as much, even if she liked to tease Lochlan that she’d leave him stranded outside at night for the ‘monsters’ to get him. “I’m not scared,” Shannon replied with a sharp tone, defensive to say the least. She was a little scared.
“TARDIS? Ye mean yer police box? Of course ye’ve even gone and named the thing,” the Irishwoman muttered with a small shake of her head, boggling afterwards at the brunette. “Regenerated? What do ye - maybe I’m dreamin’.” That had to be it. The redhead pinched her forearm hard, hissing when it hurt. “Shite,” she whispered, more-so because she realized she wasn’t dreaming at all. Shannon’s eyes went back to the box; there were bullet holes. Anyone or anything being shot at wasn’t a good indicator to them being harmless, but for now, she tried to keep her nerves calm. “U-uh, ehm, I’m Shannon, and...the year’s 2017...” Another madwoman question. Maybe she should check the news for runaway psych patients. “Who’re ye?”
a fresh cup of mint tea, the sound of a xylophone, labrador puppies, the warmth of the sun at 5pm, two women holding hands, laying in uncut grass, watching the sky turn pink, the smell of the person you love, clear sea water, journalling about happy memories, forehead kisses, the first day of summer, dimples, small palm trees, comfortable silence.

samihamizrah:
The TARDIS was rugged looking, beat up having just come from the middle of a war, bullets were literally falling from its backside as it fully landed. Inside the TARDIS was the Doctor in the middle of regeneration, having gotten shot a couple times in the chest he needed a new body, a new form. The regeneration was quick, a bit painful and when it ended–well lets just say curiosity was the only thing that came across the Doctor’s mind. Hands flying to chest, eyes lit up. “Oh, These are new!” She said as her hands moved down her body to her hips to her legs then back up to her hair, she tossled it and pulled it so she could look at its color. “Damnit! Still not ginger!” she pouted and tossed it back over her shoulder. “But a girl! That’s a fun change!” She said cheerily as she pulled down a mirror and admired herself for a moment before pushing it up and away.
It was in the middle of looking at herself that she thought she heard a voice. Cocking her head to the side she quickly moved to the door and opened it up, peeking out of it curiously. She had forgotten where she even set the TARDIS to land, so when she saw broken wood around her and a house not far off she mentally slapped herself for landing in someone’s backyard. “But the police aren’t any fun!” She said pouting as she stepped out of the TARDIS.
Was she in some sort of movie? Shannon skimmed around her backyard for cameras rolling, thinking herself caught on some up-and-coming reality TV show or perhaps a playful scare. But none were to be found. Flicking her wide gaze back to the strange brunette, she backed up a couple of more paces, breathing almost irregularly, “Ye’re like... one of those madwomen, aye?” She couldn’t reason why the woman would respond in such a way if not.
Still, Shannon was never a logical woman, more-so a wildflower in her own right. “How’d ye even manage to get that thing over’n this yard?” she asked with confusion stitched into her facial features, before they softened a moment to peek back at the stranger. “Are ye...hurt? Got a few bandaids up in me home...but I... This is all so crazy.” She laughed breathily at her herself, out of pure shock, before refocusing on the other.
