Is it possible to still be alive with a heart that’s been broken for a long time?
and if we meet in another lifetime, i hope i'm not your lover
I used to watch you dance
Right in the middle of the room,
Then you would pull me in
And I would kiss your lips.
We will be the talk of the town
For days and days
Till the town gets tired
Of our soaring love.
But one day,
I shattered the glass.
So fragile a thing
Broken into millions.
You cried and you cried,
But I refused to listen,
Because I can't risk
Your sweet forgiveness.
So then I left you marred,
And now I can't do anything
But reminisce the times
From back when you were mine.
Now I stumble on alleyways
Just so you won't see me.
Just so you won't remember
The pain I have caused you.
But you'll always have that special place
Inside my ice cold heart.
And know that I may love another time
But I can never love another you.
Love, S ♡
the poor sonnet that killed it stone dead
I thought you were an Icarus,
But that was a mistake.
You're a moth so rigorous
To the flames which I make.
Oh darling, don't make me
The fire that burn your wings,
And have me clean the debris
Of the disaster it brings.
I cannot give you my love
For it comes with my misery.
If I am all that I have,
Then spare me no pity.
I leave you now to rest
For you are whom I loved best.
Love, S ♡
Pain is temporary. GPA is forever.
Romantic encounter , Mihaly von Zichy 1864
This illustration is based on the Demon Poem by Russian Poet Mikhail Lermontov (1814 - 1841), on which a powerful demon wondering the world alone comes upon the Georgian Princess Tamara dancing at her wedding. Upon seeing her the demon falls in love with her; and kills her husband, then begins to court her until she gives herself to him; as she can see neither a demon nor an angel. but a tortured lonely soul. But when the two kiss, the kiss is fatal to Tamara, and as she rises to Heaven, the demon is once again left alone, to wonder the world and the universe, without love or hope.
“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our life.”

“My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to find peace with exactly who and what I am. To take pride in my thoughts, my appearance, my talents, my flaws and to stop this incessant worrying that I can’t be loved as I am.”
— Anaïs Nin
Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I'm not going to make it, but you laugh inside — remembering all the times you've felt that way.

That fleabag quote about wanting someone to sit you down and tell you everything about life and stuff
“i want someone to tell me what to eat, what to like, what to hate, what to rage about, what to listen to, what band to like, what to buy tickets for, what to joke about, what not to joke about. I want someone to tell me what to believe in, who to vote for, and who to love (and how to tell them)...I just think I want someone to tell me how to live my life, Father, because so far I think l've been getting it wrong. And I know that's why people want people like you in their lives because you just tell them how to do it. You just tell them what to do and what they'll get out at the end of it. And even though I don't believe your bullshit , and I know that scientifically nothing I do makes any difference in the end anyway, I'm still scared. Why am I still scared?”
