#jrwi #i started sketching out a gay gay gay comic about these two but... ugh yeah im never getting around to finishing it.#it was basically a what if ava and lizzie met later in life. lizzie got shadowbeards eye from some other event than the one that killed #ava originally. they meet at some point and get mutually obsessed with eachother for the same reasons they were in canon #anyway since ava doesnt die jay doesnt have as much baggage related to all of that #but i still think she would be sent out as a spy and have the realization that navy kinda suuuckksss and join the riptide pirates fulltime #and since ava is alive they get to have awesome sibling drama!!! imagine!!!!!!!!!#i really like the script i wrote. we get so little of ava so i feel like you can go in a lot of different directions with her personality #shes very genki girl to me personally #she's also scary and kind of upsetting and has a bunch of issues <3 #my navy captain and pirate captain yuri...

#nu carnival #im locking in and making new merch for upcoming cons. these will become standees. its my first time making them so im excited...#the ruffles were a pain to draw but i had fun with these!!!#its really interesting drawing the intricate designs of nu carnival skins because it forces me to take a really good look at them #and like man theres so many details in these. its incredible and also painful.

What a difficult question... I've made so many things for JRWI that it's genuinely hard to choose. Though, the thumbnails I did before the hiatus hold a special place in my heart. These were always a scramble to get finished on time for the upload and so I've suffered quite a lot of late nights because of these... I have no regrets though hahahah

Lets go through some of my favorites!!

Ep 115 was the last one before the 2 year hiatus for Riptide. I really wanted to make this thumbnail special so I spent quite a lot of time on it. Jay turned out really good here I think! I like her expression a lot!

Ep 109 was iconic for a lot of reasons... But I was particularly tickled by peoples reactions to the thumbnail. Everybody was freaking out! This sparked a design trend with Chip where a lot of people drew him with a literal hole in his chest. I thought that was really neat!

Ep 91, 92, 106 and 110 I'm just really happy with how they turned out. I got a lot of freedom to just draw what I wanted here so I had a great time working on these.

The suckening thumbnails were also super fun to do!! I was given a lot of creative freedom to just draw whatever. I tried my best to have a consistent color scheme for all of the thumbnails so they would be a little differentiated from the Riptide ones. I'm happy I got to draw Emizel a lot!!

New Ep 31 and 101 I drew during the hiatus, so I was able to take my time with these. I love Lizzie a lot. I wanted to make everyone else also love her with these thumbnails.

I'm also particularly happy with these posters! The Judgement one turned out really good!

Even though Riptide doesn't have drawn thumbnails anymore, I'm happy I've been able to work on the Art Scenes for the website where I can draw things a bit more thoroughly. When drawing youtube thumbnails there's a lot of rules you need to abide by so there's not as many possibilities for interesting compositions. The Art Scenes feel a lot more meaningful too, since they depict actual scenes from the episodes.

These are just a few of my favorites though... I also really love the merch art I've drawn and I was so happy to work on Auroras design! But if i start sharing all of the things I'm proud of then we'll be here all day...

#nu carnival #im usually not a big proponent for modern aus #because the nature of aus kind of break what i like about a character - which includes the setting they excist inside #like rei is a fantasy character from a fantasy world and a lot of his specific circumstances CANT be recreated the same way if you #take him out of that context #not so say that i dont enjoy aus... as you can see from the drawings above hahaha i do enjoy them very much #also yes i made him hard of hearing. hes almost fully deaf in his right ear here #him and eiden are signing in jsl btw #theres a lot of things about disability that i wish nu carni explored more! the contracts the clan members are in will deteriorate parts #of their body in exhange for huyes essence #the game seems to forget that some of the clan members are physically disabled or are going to be thanks to their contracts #i guess you can argue that it doesnt really matter that much but... it matters to me!!! a lot!!!#we dont even see much of reis chronic illness nowadays. you could argue that he's managing that way better now that he's getting #dicked down on the regular. im happy for him but also... u know... writers please just dont magic that stuff away....#anyway it tickles me so much to draw fantasy characters in normal boring outfits. just kind of inherently very funny to me

i got my hands on reis unfulfilled dream and remnant trace rooms and...ayugguhgshdg (sounds of me in great despair). this illust series isnt exactly related to those rooms but was inspired by them! good god nu carnivals writing really scratches a specific itch for me huh

#nu carnival #ive been working on this illust series for uhhhh a month now?? on and off drawing these frames?? panels?? whenever ive had time #i wanted to make these look consistent with eachother but with totally different atmospheres #i learned a lot drawing these!#ive gotten really into sequencial images lately...#oh yeah also i need to know what reis mom looks like #i need to know what all the moms look like. i need more family lore for all of the clan memebrs pleasepleasepleasplease #when i draw i come up with a lot of headcanons. i have a whole profile for rei's mom now... i wish there was more of her in the game...#ik its unrealistic to expect from this genre but oh how i wish nu carni would take the time to flesh out the female characters #ik the game doesnt really concern itself with npcs in general. its a yaoi game where you watch boys fuck #but i can yearn. ill just keep drawing fanart of the women in the meanwhile
