the downside to dan & phil asking for art to be submitted in, is that little assholes will probably try and submit un-credited art (as in, u fucking cut the watermark off) and submit it in under your name

guaranteed if this happens to ANYONE, i will stop posting art, cause that honestly provides such a horrible gut feeling.

as i’ve said previously, i have no respect for anyone who reposts, edits, and steals art without permission. that’s just low.

@ dan and phil, if you are reading this, please make sure to check credits and sources for art that’s being submitted to you. artists get their art stolen all the time, and no words can express how upsetting this would be to one of us if this happened.

12 friendly phandom reminders

1) we don’t talk about dan’s family or his brother adrian ((he will get very angry))

2) we don’t talk about ((at least not to him or phil in any direct way)) or spread the vday video ((invasion of privacy))

3) we dont tag our well-written phanfictions or our rad phan edits in the danisnotonfire and amazingphil tags ((a chance they might see it and get mad))

4) we don’t directly @ them or tag them in anything related to phan ((dan already freaked out about this before so not again pls))

5) when we meet dan and phil we do NOT ask to take a picture with JUST dan or JUST phil ((always know there are some other phandom members that would kill to meet them BOTH but can’t bc they live in a different country or they don’t have enough money))

6) we do not send hate to other phandom members ((a big no no))

7) we do not get mad at other phandom members if they got the chance to meet dan and/or phil ((if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all))

8) we do not bring up old indirect tweets or tweets directly between dan and phil ((dan gets defensive and angry + he deletes tweets so it ruins it for everybody))

9) we do not pester other youtubers close to dan and phil about phan and ask them questions ((they both will figure out and get even more pissed off at us))

10) we do not stalk anyone close ((family, friends, youtubers, former crushes)) to dan or phil and ask them questions about phan or even send them hate ((again they will both find out and it is just a not okay thing to do))

11) we are okay with phan shippers and we are okay with non-phan shippers ((we all love the same two nerds))

12) we never ever hate on or plagiarize someone from the phandom’s artwork or phanfiction/s ((plagiarism is illegal as heck and it takes time and effort to illustrate or write something and that deserves to be praised ok not hated on or stolen))

I meant to reblog this as soon as it was posted…it’s very important! I know not all of these points apply to everyone (for example, not everyone reads fics) but they are still good to keep in mind. And even though Dan and Phil might not seem to get angry about some of these things anymore, it’s still respectful to not do them. If someone is doing this stuff, either purposefully to be disrespectful or because they don’t know it’s not okay, don’t nag them about it…just tell them what they did wrong so they can fix it.

I particularly want to emphasize #s 4, 6, 8, and 11 (and one that’s not listed: do not post any old “content” that they might not want their fans to see now); these seem to be the most relevant to some of the phandom’s recent behavior. I’m not always able to address these things directly, so I’m saying now that I think everyone should consider them to help make the phandom a better community (and to make Dan and Phil’s lives easier). Thank you to whoever reads/supports this : )
