A modern school is an institution of the state whose purpose is to disseminate and propagate state ideology. Due to the current dominance of Western civilization, school systems around the globe are influenced by its concepts, philosophies, and ideologies, which shape students' worldviews. Below are a few of the numerous negative effects of modern "education."

Throughout various subjects, especially science, we are taught that physical reality is all that exists and that every phenomenon can be explained by physical factors. A belief in the supernatural is blatantly undermined, and that weakens Imaan, which is associated with the ghayb, the unseen.

Epistemology is the study of knowledge and deals with the sources and nature of knowledge. Schools actively promote empiricism, the idea that knowledge is primarily derived from sensory experience. Accordingly, we end up believing that knowledge is only that which is observable by our senses or explained by science: that which contradicts science, even if it is something in the Quran or the Sunnah, should be rejected.
In history and anthropology, progress is emphasised—the notion that humanity as a whole becomes increasingly rational, moral, and advanced over time. Therefore, it creates the false impression that moderns are more advanced, moral, and rational than previous generations; therefore, the Islam of the seventh century is out of date and requires revision. The concept of progress also instils the belief that morality and the law must evolve over time.

In economics, it is argued that man is a rational, self-interested homo-economicus who is in a state of perpetual competition due to the scarcity of resources and whose life goal is to maximise his material utility from the consumption of goods and services. In doing so, it attacks the essence of what Islam emphasises so heavily: compassion, selflessness, and concern for others.
Throughout their schooling, students are exposed to a variety of similar poisonous ideas that strike at the root of the aqeedah of Muslims. We need to create awareness in the Muslim community about the destructive effects of modern schooling and education in order to be able to devise alternatives.
