When a black person states that something you did was racist, chill the fuck out. Its annoying dealing with you panicking trying to dissociate yourself from racism. If you're not black, black people already assume youve said nigga or its variant at least once in your life. If they're interacting with you and bringing something up, its because they want you to stop doing that so they can still interact with you(if ur already friends)

You WILL be racist. You WILL do racist things. You have ALREADY done both. Learn and move on. There's no ideological purity you can hold on to, i promise. Proving you can take the criticism without making it a big deal and practice what you preach is better than any clean slate.

I'm taking time to relax from my animation job by animating. Really really loved In stars and time Siffrin is an incredibly compelling little gremlin! Their breathing gets brought up so much that yknow, this just popped into my head and refused to leave

I saw that @superyoumna 's Reaper design had a little line on his cheek, and it instantly reminded me of those indigenous tattoos- so I was struck with the urge to design a human Reaper just for that...

It's directly inspired by Youmna's design but they're not one in the same, cause I changed the look of the cloak a lot. And if I am drawing Sans with meaningful tattoos, then I'm definitely including Paps too

This is my first time trying to depict any indigenous culture and I know they are very diverse and misrepresented so please let me know if I got anything wrong!

I took a bunch of insparations, but the main ones were indigenous filipinos, because I saw the parol lanterns, and I knew I wanted to give the brothers a star motif AND Paps a staff with a lantern (to contrast Sans' scythe) so it fit together perfectly. The tattoo meanings and look fit together after that.

I couldn't find much on specific death gods or dieties - the Haida people have specifically a god of violent death and a goddess of peaceful death, but as a people they don't seem to do face tattoos from what I could find (gorgeous totems and colors on their other tattoos, still incredible to look into) so it felt wrong to bunch them together.

Sooo I just kind of kept the generic reaper look, just trying to spin a slightly lighter look on death (even tho Sans still has a very rough relationship with his job)

Anyways, that's all I have! Again, if I got something abysmally wrong please correct me, I'd love to learn.
