it’s funny how the show kept forcing the hughie/lenny parallel all the way to the fucking end but the only thing i could think during that scene between butcher and hughie was that they should just kiss and everything would be fine. anyway, the ending was awful ("take care of your mom, robin"??? lol cringe asf), but at least we got one beautiful scene between them in the end.

i loved butchie in this new episode!! them talking about billy joel and spending time together, just the two of them alone... the only thing i care about in this last season, honestly.

i woke up at 3 a.m to watch this final episode before going to work (whose idea was it to release the finale of one of my favorite shows on a random wednesday anyway?).

and honestly, i don’t even know exactly how i feel about the way things ended. i already expected everything to feel rushed and underdeveloped, considering we’re talking about a 1 hour and 30 minute episode trying to conclude a story about two beings who literally lived for billions of years.

i only have neil gaiman to blame. after the accusations against him, the rest of the cast and crew had to work incredibly hard to give us this ending, no matter how unsatisfying it may feel for some fans. it’s like a bittersweet taste… i actually liked the ending (i guess, i don’t know), but i didn’t like how things happened. i liked the idea, but not the execution. i liked the message, i understood it... but i don’t know if i fully accept it. maybe not yet.

but in the end, none of that really matters. aziraphale and crowley will always be the greatest love story in the universe to me. after all, how can anything surpass a love that began before the beginning of everything and endured until the very end? even if within a finite life, and perhaps not such an ineffable one, in this case.

it's pretty obvious that hughie is gonna kill butcher at the end of the boys, right? it's actually pathetic how obviously they imply it.

but at least we got one more "starlight's love / butcher's love for hughie" prove in this season.
