There weren’t many people that Puck would sit around and wait for, but his little sister was one of them - and not just because his mom would be pissed if he left without her. Unfortunately for him, Sarah seemed to know that he wouldn’t just ditch her, and had no problem taking advantage of that fact, which meant he was stuck waiting outside their synagogue while she had what seemed to be an endless conversation with her annoying little friends after their morning service.
Getting roped into a conversation with Rachel about things he never quite seemed to fully understand was never really his favorite activity, but it was seemingly his only option unless he wanted to die of boredom. So, for once - without any prompting from his mother to go say hello to that nice Rachel girl - he made his way down the steps, invited himself to sit down beside her, and initiated the conversation all on his own. “Hey.” As soon as the word was out of his mouth, a sinking feeling that this was a bad idea began to fill him. Other than their shared faith and the school they attended, he was pretty sure the two of them had nothing in common. What the hell were they supposed to talk about?
Sure, if nothing else, he could hit on her, but even he wasn’t so depraved as to hook up in the parking lot of his place of worship. Especially not when his sister could finish her conversation at any time, and come looking for him. And also not where JBI could be lurking around any corner, ready to snap some photos for his stupid little blog. Talking to Rachel was one thing, but getting caught fooling around with her was total social suicide. Even if he was probably cool enough to get away with it, he just wasn’t so sure it was worth it, no matter how nerdy hot she might look in her little plaid skirt. “You got any snacks on you?” There. Snacks were a safe topic. Plus, if his mouth was full, he was less likely to say anything stupid, like suggest they go make out in his truck. @veryberryx
