This is a good question. I really haven’t thought much about what role religion will play in this WIP.
My relationship with religion is a little complicated right now, and that has been reflected in some of my WIPs. I have a faith I believe in, but am not really sure how I fit into it now.
I’ll have to think about what current religions would be like in a future where humans and various species of aliens interact with each other. Current religions have been around so long that I don’t think they would go away in a couple hundred years, but they might evolve, especially after people mingle with beings from different planets who might have an entirely different take on religion.

I’m not as knowledgeable with certain tropes as other writers...but I’ll give this one a try.
Sunshine/grump. Sometimes I like this better when applied to friends than romantic relationships.
I like seeing families that are a mix of found family and biological relatives, where the bio relatives are not put above the found ones.

This is a tough one for me to answer.
So far this year, I’ve read 31 books spread out between adult, young adult, and middle grade. Compared to everything that’s published, it’s a relatively small number.
So when I say I want more of something, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist, just that I haven’t read enough of it yet.
And of course, we can always have more of good things.
So, here it goes:
I want to read more
-queer middle grade.
-nonbinary and trans characters in middle grade fantasy and horror
-more nonbinary and/or trans characters everywhere!
-characters on the ace spectrum across age categories in speculative fiction
-bi or pan people in relationships with people of different genders
-in adult speculative fiction, characters who realize their queer as adults
My TBR is massive and out of control, but the things mentioned above are what I’m looking to add to it as it gets even more massive.

I do things a little different each time. There have been some Novembers where I started a brand new project on Nov. 1 without having done much or any planning and pantsed the entire thing.
One November I added 50,000ish words to a project that already had about 40,000 words.
This time? Still undecided.
If Evanstar 3 calls me, then I’ll be a big rebel revising or rewriting, depending on how I feel when I reread it after not looking at it for a long time. I had meant to have that book revised and to my editor right now, but well...2020 happened.
Instead I ended up writing this other book about some of the side characters that takes place 4 years before Power Surge.
ALTERNATIVELY, if I don’t rebel, I will hopefully plot out NEW BOOK ahead of time and actually write a readable first draft that I can send out to beta readers soon after writing it.
I’m hoping that these prompts will inspire me to make up my mind sooner than later.

This month, I need to decide what I’m doing for NaNoWriMo. Either rewriting las NaNoWriMo’s attempt at Evanstar Chronicles 3, or starting a new project and saving Evanstar 3 for December and January.
I’ve been writing other stuff in the Evanstar Chronicles universe all summer and fall, so I think I may need to take a month away from that universe and work on a new middle grade book.
For years, I’ve been wanting to write some kind of queer Beowulf retelling. At first, I thought it was going to be adult historical fantasy, but now I have an idea for making into something different, sort of a middle-grade Beowulf in space. I’m not sure it will be a retelling so much as a “Beowulf reincarnated” type of thing. But we’ll see.
There is still time to figure it out.
