roxy perked up at his words “really?” she grinned and listened carefully while nodding along, she let out a long sigh “because he wasn’t dirty enough.” she joked “do you mind helping me find it? i don’t really know how to navigate these streets yet.” she wasn’t new in the area but roxy had one of the worse sense of direction to ever be, “or just point me in to the right direction, please, he desperately needs a wash.” she chuckled.

a pause followed the offer of either joining her or merely gesturing down the street into the vague direction where it laid. now, if he was in any was the asshole his recent bitterness liked to display him as, he’d have probably chosen the latter, but the frown on his features just hid his empathy to first glances. “ sure, i can show you, “ he shrugged, hands pushing into the pockets of his jacket as he nodded down the street before beginning to walk in the direction, “ maybe we can cut his escape route short. i’m pretty sure there are only two ways to get in and out. “ the abandoned garden being surrounded by a wire fence, only two openings to each side leading a way in and outside. in the middle, of course, as the pit of mud and matter of factly several dogs. “ see him in there? “

    perhaps larissa should not be drinking that much champagne. heaven knows that the girl is a bit of a lightweight and she can already feel the alcohol burning down her veins. however, it is not until she bumps into a door and apologizes that she realizes – she might have to cut down on the drink. except she does not, grabbing another glass from the floating silver plate. “this champagne tastes so good, don’t you think?” the raven-haired fairy says to the person next to her, smiling softly.

summarising the course of this event thus far in a single sentence, the elixir behind bael’s survival was the offered champagne and the vastly more frequent growing stops at the – or what he figured was supposed to be the – bar. he wasn’t drunk. he always had a tough time getting drunk — unlike others, evidently. “ actually, ” a smirk tugged at his lips at the irony of he himself holding a flute in hand, “ never been a big fan of champagne. can feel the sparkle in my nose, i hate that feeling. “ and as though to prove otherwise he empited his glass in one swig. “ you’re having fun, i take it? “

        ❝ ˛✦ ⊰ FLORA WAS EXCITED for the welcoming ball. it was one of the highlights of the school year to her, so of course she had joined to team to decorate and transform the alfea’s beautiful ballroom into and help direct the event to assure its success. dressed in a beautiful, semi-long light pink and floral decorated dress, the girl had positioned herself near the entrance of the ballroom; shooting every arriving guest a bright smile as she cheerily said: “ hi there ! welcome to the welcoming ball ! “. ⊱ ⋄ ʾ ❞ 

the alfea welcoming ball had never exactly been something he had seen reason in attending. it was loud and bright and cheerful, and he just wasn’t anymore. hands shoved into the pockets of his cloak, he was determined not to be much more than a shadow in the corner — but of course, fate would have it differently with a fairy personally greeting everyone. “ isn’t that a little too much? “ he asked, eyes narrowed, “ figured a welcoming ball would do all the... welcoming? ”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀IT WASN’T clear how micah exactly wound up in this situation, but it was also clear that he was in no state to explain himself. at the very least, you’d had to give the guy props for sneaking into the dorms completely stoned without getting caught. even though it was unlike him to get this fucked up, stress from school work really put a toll on him, so he took care of it the only way he knew how. suddenly, micah was no longer in downtown magix, but here. “hellooo?” he was sluggish in his movements, voice loud, but not loud enough to raise alarm. micah stopped in front of a familiar door, rapping his knuckles against the wooden door — that’s what caused alarm because soon enough, when the person didn’t answer right away, it turned into pounding. “yo, wake up!”

               no matter how stubborn he tried to stay asleep and leave his mind to linger in the fuzzy space of whatever dream he had had, that familiar voice combined with such irritating knocking sound was mercilessly dragging bael right into reality. he huffed, rolling over and off his bed, only to walk over to the door and swing it open forcefully enough it slammed against the wall right behind it. “ seriously? could you get any more obnoxious?! “ which wasn’t a challenge, by the way. “ what do you want? a pat on the head for making it back? “

❝ ˛ ✧ ☾ HOLDING BACK THE urge to roll her eyes at his melodramatic question, kiara sighed before shaking her head. “ i never… didn’t trust you… bael. “, she replied, her voice nothing but a mumble as she turned away from him to look up at the tree. “ i know you won’t drop me. and if you do, i’ll kick your ass ‘cause that’s no way to treat a l a d y. “, kiara replied, a brow arching up as she smirked at her own words. “ i just need a little hand, alright ? it’ll be over in no time. “, she continued, finally looking back over at him.

" right. “ he couldn’t help the hint of bitterness that was playing into his voice just then. she didn’t stop trusting him, she’d just stopped wanting to see him on a dating basis. nothing wrong with that, right? bael had to unclench his jaw, shaking his head to physically shake off the thought. “ come on then, “ he crossed his fingers, creating a stirrups with his hands for her to step into, “ hop on my shoulders !! “

⋄ ˙ THE FEMALE FOUND herself sighing in relief as he assured her he was fine, gwendoline wasn’t really close to many people but bael was the closest person she had and she was aware hurting him wasn’t good to their friendship “ yeah i’m fine ” gwen replied in a chuckle as she glared at her best friend for mocking her “ are you sure you are okay though ? usually you can’t be this funny ” the female teased back.

           “ got up on the wrong foot, “ bael explained his rather cheerful mood, quipping of course as he did so. while he was more so the silent grouch, sitting in most of his classes with his arm crossed in front of his chest and a offenive defensive snark, he wouldn’t say that being in a merry mood was entirely off. especially, when he was around her — even if she was, in a way, knocking his leg against tables. “ how about cooling those bumps? i’m thinking iced coffee? “ to keep up at least sme sense of bitterness.

roxy smiled at him as a greeting, taking a moment to fully catch her breathe. the pink haired girl crossed her arms as he finally responded to her question, her face falling at his words “really? damn, i really thought he came this way.” her eyes running over round where they stood for a moment before returning to him as she nodded “yeah, he’s mine. he just decided to be difficult today and escape his bath, just being stubborn.” she sighed in frustration.

            bael nodded along to her explanation; at least that was somewhat comprehensible..? or at least, so he figured from all the little experience he’d had with dogs; dogs which were very happy running with him through the forest back home, no matter how dirty they might get. “ i might know a place, “ he offered, “ there’s a mud pit two blocks from here, wouldn’t be the first dog to play in there today. “

╰ • ⊰ ☾ “ DUDE YOU WERE lucky i recognized you in time or i would’ve beat your ass. “, he defended his own honour, even if it weren’t completely the truth. he had a reputation to uphold. when the guy explained why he had been in the woods all by himself, brandon nodded – past midnight seemed like an odd hour to practice but who was he to judge – to each their own right. “ so it seems, right ? unless falling from the sky is an included power of yours. “, the young man replied, unable to hold back a laugh. “ oh, i… i was just… walking back home. you know. “, he explained, clearing his throat as he tiptoed around the fact that he had spend the evening with a girl he’d met at a party but didn’t fancy breakfast with her. ⊱ • ╮

               “ oh yeah? “ his eyebrows rose at the sound of such ridiculousness, a laugh making its way past his lips, “ you keep thinking that if that’s what helps you sleep at night !! but deep down, we both know better. “ the smirk on his lips faltered then, his nose curling up as he lifted a hand to scratch the back of is head. “ it doesn’t, “ he admitted under his breath, “ but !! you broke my concentration. “ it wasn’t bael’s fault, of course. no, totally not his fault. he began brushing the dirt off his clothes, sighing when he finally stood at full size again. “ i figured this whole thing would be easier, to be honest. “ handling magic sounded so much easier than it always sounded to be, and once more, bael found himself wondering why he had to be the odd one out in the family. “ walking back home, huh? interesting timing. “ not that bael cared that much about the truth, to be honest. “ from alfea? or cloud tower? “

the exhaustion was starting to get to roxy as she ran her way into the park, stopping for a moment and letting her eyes run everywhere before letting out a sigh of disappointment and continuing her quest. a few paces more she stopped again bending down to rest her hands on her knees she looked up to the person close to her “hey, you!” she said in between heavy breaths “have you seen a dog around?” she straightened her back to tilt her head at them “he’s about yay big,” she motioned with her hands “and has blonde fur?” she rested her hands on her hips and let out another deep breathe “please tell you seen him.” 

              sceptical as ever bael’s eyes wandered over the obviously exhausted figure; a fairy without a doubt – not that he was adopting his family’s prejudice, but a specialist, the good ones anyway, shouldn’t lose all their energy during a jog, and witches didn’t have the heart to care for an adorable blonde dog — bael was startled. maybe he did have a bit of that prejudice, oddly even though he, a wizard, should know better. “ huh? “ he finally snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes flying up to meet hers, “ can’t say i have. he yours? what made him run? “

╰ • ⊰ ☾ JUMPING BACKWARDS ASa figure fell near him on the floor, out of nowhere, brandon barely held in a high shriek. with his fists balled and held out in front of him as he immediately went in attack-mode, the brunet checked the intruder quickly to make sure it wasn’t a thread to him. “ help me ?! i could ask you the same thing ! you scared the fucking crap out of me, dude. “, he mumbled as he dropped his hands, letting out a relieved sigh as he recognized the wizard. “ what the hell are you doing out here at this hour ? “. ⊱ • ╮

              that made the two of them, and where bael would under normal circumstances keep the stern and annoyed expression, the glimpse of a grin was making it's way onto his lips now. " always be prepared for a surprise attack !! " it was something his father had repeated constantly to him, a rule bael himself was admittedly failing right now but he was currently focusing on one of the other sayings he had been raised to live by; aim to be the best in your element. " i am working on my wizardry, " he reached out, silently asking brandon to give him a hand at standing up. " it’s not perfect yet. " truth be told, it wasn’t even close and it infuriated bael. he gave the other a once-over then, sceptical: “ and you? who are you doing out here? “ he grinned, teasing with the seriousness in his voice. “ seems nasty, even for you. “

           at night when the entire world was covered in shadows and everyone else had long fallen asleep, practicing had always come the easiest to bael. he’d been hovering above a clearing in the forest, concentrating on his shadow form to grow and strengthen it, to learn to control it all the better, when a simple unexpected noise snapped him right out of it. his head could hardly turn as fast to the approaching person as he was suddenly falling, his back eventually hitting the ground rather forcefully and thus knocking the breath right out of his lungs. bael groaned, but considering it was merely a person and not a real threat, he didn’t bother getting up. he didn’t even bother looking at them as he sarcastically called out: “ thanks for that !! “ idiot. “ can i help you? “ considering no one was exactly supposed to be here at this hour, bael figured there was only a limited amount of reason someone could be here ( and his own very audible frustration could totally not be the reason someone woke up, no way ).

❝ ˛ ✧ ☾ AS SOON AS she recognized bael, a sigh automatically fell from kiara’s lips. it’s not like she minded seeing the guy – but he didn’t appear to be very pleasantly surprised. “ thanks, i appreciate it. “, the young woman mumbled, barely suppressing another sigh as she looked down at the bird house in her hands. “ i promised a friend to hang this up… but… i can’t reach the higher branch. “, she explained, feeling defeated as she kept her gaze fixed on the small wooden house in her hands. “ i would’ve brought a ladder but i didn’t suppose i’d need one. “.

            his gaze followed her explanation upwards the tree trunk and towards the branch he assumed she was talking about. he could probably get there using magic, whether it was by flying or taking advantage of his shadows, but those relied on his emotions more than he cared to admit and his emotions were all over the place whenever he ran into her, something he also wasn’t going to admit. “ do you still trust me? “ he wondered, but as he asked the question it sounded much more significant than he’d anticipated, and he added after a short moment, “ trust me not to drop you? “

           as her voice rose and called out for him, bael was determined to keep walking. his cloak did wonders hiding his identity to the passing eye and what was one inpolite seeming witch more or less, right? and yet, there he was coming to a slow halt, turning around to her with a rather emotionless expression. “ sure, “ he shrugged, meaning to seem extra careless, “ what is it? “

⋄ ˙ GWEN’S POWERS  were tricky, causing pain in others had consequences mostly moral on her but because it was such a volatile ability if she got hurt physically someone around her could also pay the price without her even realizing it. that was what happened as she stumbled against the corner of the table, the pain going up her leg as she winced and heard someone do the same around her “ crap ! ” the brunette mumbled turning to them “ are you okay ? i’m so sorry ”

          to bael, the most confusing part of being pain inflicted by gwen’s powers was the invisibilty of it. as his leg felt as though he’d walked into something, without it actually being there, his brain was always messing with him, stumbling over quite literally nothing. he caught himself, of course, no harm done. there was never any real harm done. “ i’m fine, “ he assured her, an amused spark immediately dancing in his eyes despite the still stern expression, " are you? that table attacked you out of nowhere. “
