I love how the movies used practical effects as compared to the digital SFX we have now. Somehow it makes the movies feel more real as compared to fantasy/surreal, like current horror films.

Look out for another post that will feature Dracula shots. The extensive make-up create a really scary character. Again as compared to CGI nowadays. 

I really love this movie for the efforts put into creating the practical effects. 

I love shot no. 3, silhouettes of impaled humans is sufficient to portray the horrid scene and leave the rest to your imagination.
