The Hand of Zul’jin - Voodoo Expedition League guild event

Last night, the League headed to the abandoned Throne of Thunder in search of an important symbol of Amani resolve. They found that even though the Thunder King had been defeated, his palace was still crawling with danger!

*The Hand of Zul’jin artifact is based on a headcanon I read here on tumblr a few months back, detailing how a sect of Amani preserved and even worshipped Zul’jin’s lost arm. I took the story as I remembered it and expounded upon it to create an artifact for us to collect. I thought I liked or reblogged the headcanon, but for the life of me, I can’t find it now. If anybody knows what I’m talking about and can link it to me, I would be eternally grateful.*

Forgive me resurrecting your thread - would you believe I was trying to find my own post?  (a dusty return to the WoW-verse, I am so out of practise with both WoW and tumblr alike!)  :D  Came across your post, delighted that someone else found fun in the idea too! 

Anyway. I had the headcanon stashed on my poor dusty art-blog where it was easier to find. Thank you for enjoying the story in the first place. I thiiiink it might be mine that you are refering to. :) Pretty sure, anyway!

We’re getting a male monarch butterfly on Thursday.

He’s missing several legs and both antenna, and can’t fly very well or for very far.

Someone found him injured in their yard and has been feeding him sugar water to keep him alive; they posted to Craigslist to see if anyone wanted to take him (the late hatch monarchs usually live 6-8 months as opposed to 2-3 weeks) since he won’t be able to migrate and will just freeze to death or be eaten alive by ants due to poor balance and flying.

So, I get to pick him up on Thursday.

Looks like all his legs are there, unless the two tiny forelimbs are also missing (I can’t quite tell at this angle, they’re usually snugged up anyway under the head/thorax.

Mine liked snoozing in the folds of the curtain at night. Not sure about best foods for monarchs as most of mine would be set loose as soon as a break in the weather and their 'ready to fly’ state allowed. :) Not sure what the weather will be like, over your way, but this is a page with some local advice about feeding monarchs - http://www.monarch.org.nz/faq/can-i-feed-a-monarch-butterfly-sugar-water/

Again, as I very rarely fed the adults (I used to just raise and release ‘em :) ) I’ll just have to trust that the above is accurate, I do know one of the people who runs this site, and they’re pretty much the NZ monarch butterfly guru! Apart from the lack of antenna, he looks pretty healthy otherwise. Long may he last. :D

It doesn’t get me on Hellfire anymore as whenever I’m there I’m WAY above level to one shot it, but holy shit, hearing that noise in an at level area?

It really is one of the most effectual sounds in the game. It’s the sound of “Oh SHIT, whereisithowcloseOHMYGODITSRIGHTBEHINDME *SQUASH* - AND you almost never heard it coming until it was almost on top of you! Even though it so damn big! :D (Probably the sound is located as with all mobs, to a particular “range” of audibility, (and I don’t know that there is much variety in the range’s size!)     But I appreciate it as one of the few actual “Oh shit!” sounds in game. <3 Metally *GROOOOAAAAAAAGH*   ftw!   :D

So

Right now in World of Warcraft, a new expansion is coming out, and with it a pre-patch event. It’s all about hellfire, doom and gloom, and demons pretty much invading the world. 

Right now, our primary fraction capitals have these Doomsayers scattered around.

They are standing around in the major cities saying “the end is nigh!” and give everyone pamphlets. If you get one, you have to wait 15 minutes until you get one again. That is, unless you die in a sudden and unexpected way. Say, for example, falling from a great height.

You can probably see where this is going.

We are literally throwing ourselves to our deaths at their feet so we can get an achievement.

Also, it is mildly amusing to stand there clicking the slide-whistle toy, as they go up... then down! :D

Went to see the new Ghostbusters with @leapofdoom. It was super and utterly delightful, just a very entertaining and funny summer flick. Women were normalized and didn’t obsess (or even pay much attention to) men, so I’m not sure where hand-wringing neckbeards are getting so wadded up. I probably wouldn’t have even given the gender divide much thought, in the film, if not for reading the internet discourse beforehand. Which is as it should be. 

Just go see it. It’s good.

So I play (played?) World of Tanks. Some little gobshite went around reporting everyone’s name a few months back (mine included.)  Didn’t realise that the namechange under my *name_violation* was my one and only. Wrote ticket to ask if it was possible to get that reset. (also, seriously. “Noob” in a name is a naming violation? REALLY???) and.... the Service Centre - instead of even answering my question, told me that I had to change my name, and that I’d used that change, and that my account was going to be suspended if I didn’t do "as soon as practical”. (cost: $NZ 30.00)

Log in. Account already blocked. CLASSY SHIT right there.

Yeah, I get that it’s a free-to-play game. Why it wasn’t just reset to name_violation(number) I don’t know.  But that’s some pretty dodgy customer service, if I can’t even ask a question and have it answered.
