If you are a Belizean and want to go to Thailand you’ll need to get a Thai visa before leaving for your trip. Other countries in Southeast Asia don’t require this, but they do require visas that you get online, which we’ll be getting while in Thailand. If you hold an American passport, then no need to be concerned, you get your visas upon entry.
The Thai visas may seem a little tedious mainly because the nearest embassy to Belize is in Mexico but really there’s not much to it as compared to other countries. It all adds up to be bit pricey but I mean, there’s nothing you can really do about that and you don’t actually have to be present.

ONE PICTURE PASSPORT SIZE
ORIGINAL PASSPORT VALID AT LEAST 6 MONTHS BEFORE THE EXPIRY DATE
COPY OF PASSPORT (first page)
COPY OF TELEPHONE BILL OR ANOTHER PROVE OF ADDRESS TO THE NAME OF THE PERSON THAT IS TRAVELLING (I used a bank statement)
COPY OF FM2 or FM3 (Residence in Mexico) Not necessary for Belize and Nicaragua
COST USD 40.00 FOR EACH ENTRY (you have to deposit the cost of the visa in the Embassy’s account No.00107234066 from Scotiabank to the name of Embajada Real de Tailandia and bring the original bank’s deposit. NOTE: THE ACCOUNT IS IN DOLLARS)
TIME TO GET THE VISA 48 HRS.

IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE MEXICO CITY AND SEND THE DOCUMENTS BY COURIER SUCH AS DHL, FEDEX, ETC. YOU HAVE TO SEND A PRE PAID AIRWAYBILL IN ORDER TO SEND YOUR DOCUMENTS BACK TO YOU.

- Like it says, to wire the money you will need to do it through a Scotia Bank account, if you don’t have one find someone who does. They will need to be present to sign off for the wire transfer. I can’t quite remember the total but I paid for 2 entries and some sort of tax. I used DHL to ship my documents, came up to about $220 BZD round trip (bare in mind I’m from San Pedro). My visa arrived home in about two weeks. A cheaper alternative could be to send it with someone you know going to the area. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
