Harrion decided he wanted to get away from the confines of the city and explore the bit of nature that King’s Landing had to offer. After being in a cell for so long, seeing the sun and the sea was unbelievable and overwhelming. He went to the edge of the shore and knelt down, splashing some of the cool water on his face. The water back home was far too cold to allow for a beach like experience such as this. He may not have been the most pleased to be in King’s Landing but he had to admit that this moment was calming and wonderful.
Standing back up straight, Harrion walked down the shoreline, taking in the slight breeze coming off of the water. He was lost in his own thoughts until he saw someone standing on the dock a ways in front of him. The figure of a young woman caught his eyes and it took him a moment before he realized that he knew her. “Lyanna.” He spoke as he approached her. “I am surprised to see you here… although I guess I shouldn’t be considering everyone has come far and wide to be here for Viserys’ coronation.” He gave a warm smile, happy to see a familiar face after so long. They had been friends years ago, long before everything changed. He knew not of his family’s betrayal towards the Mormonts and Starks at the Red Wedding, something he would not have approved of if he had had any knowledge of it. Since his escape from his imprisonment, Harrion had kept his identity a secret to most, but presumed he would be safe in the company of an old friend.
it was an almost... childish fascination that drove lyanna to the edges of the water to study them, which looked warm and inviting and had not a single likeness to that of the waters that surrounded her home. there, on bear island, with a single finger swirled in the ocean, you’d be chilled to the bone. it had looked inviting in its own way, tempting in its own right to let that shivering moisture engulf her and sink into her very core - she had never been foolish enough to try to jump in, though, or to risk fever. winter rarely yielded in the north, and even the days that leaned towards summer, to being warmer than most, still left the ocean tumbling and crashing in a cold way against the shores of the island.
so lyanna was intrigued by it, and had dipped her feet in the water a few times, resolving to go swimming once she had the proper attire. down here, there were not many people to interact with, which had been her desire - those who passed were few and far between, and did not address her in the hours she was down by the shore. she did not notice most of them unless they were loud, chattering, and lyanna remained in a reverie as she stood on the dock, the warm wood beneath her bare feet.
turning to the voice that broke her self-imposed respite from the red keep and the people in it, lyanna stiffened visibly at the familiarity that she was greeted with, and the smile on the face of an old friend - and a traitor. “lord karstark,” she replied, barely holding back the venom, refusing to call him by his first name. “you are alive? and here,” lyanna spoke, a question and a coming to terms with the fact that he was before her. “what a surprise - and a disappointment.” with that, the woman moved to where her shoes were, scooping them up.
