Skipping entirely: Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi.
Skipping the Inaugural lunch: All three living former Presidents (Bush, Clinton, and Obama).
Declined to give Vance the pre-Inauguration tour of the VP residence: Kamala Harris.
In my view, no one who took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution should attend-and thereby normalize and legitimize-the inauguration of a disqualified insurrectionist and fascist traitor who openly intends to destroy the Constitution, and who's very oath of office will therefore be an act of perjury.
Nor is there any legal obligation for them to do so. Even the outgoing President is not required to attend the inauguration of his successor, and the Felon-Elect did not attend Biden's. Why should he be shown any more respect? For the sake of "norms" that he is in the process of destroying?
We must de-normalize the incoming regime. We must normalize denying him recognition, respect, and compliance for the sake of "norms" that no longer exist because he destroyed them.
If you wish to do your bit, here's what you can do:
-Contact your representatives, and the White House, and urge them not to attend.
-Do not watch on Inauguration Day, or post about it, or use the word "inauguration."
-Have your TV on, on any other channel- this is more effective, as I understand it, than simply not watching anything, as it means the Inauguration will get a lower share of overall ratings.
