This past weekend, my friend Jenn and I randomly decided to just go to my old trainer Jās farm in Wellington for a little field trip off the property, and to get some training. Iād been wanting to do this for a while, but after having FOUR DAYS IN A ROW of our ring not being dragged, I just said f*** it, Ā and had J pick us up.

As I get things in order for school, it seems like everything that can become an issue for me, has all at once. Giving real meaning to the saying when it rains, it pours.
Finding living arrangements near school is an endless headache I never signed up for, and honestly at this point, Iād rather just commute than to fight for control on choosing where I want to live.

Finally getting back to normal life
Finally getting back to normalĀ life
Wow. Ā What a doozy this past year has been. Coming up on my diagnosis anniversary in September, and Iām thankful that most of the hard stuff is behind me.
Since Iāve last posted, I underwent a corneal transplant in May. Thatās right, I have SOMEONE ELSES cornea in my eye right now! Wild stuff. Iām still in awe.

Back to the lab again
January has brought back the independence I didnāt have when I was sick. While Iād already started to drive again before, I really started to venture on my own and feel more confident in myself since this whole ordeal started. Itās crazy to me how much loosing my eyesight in one eye has affected me mentally. Or how this whole ordeal has affected me. I like to think that I am one of the luckyā¦

Turning a corner!
Update on the eye: Iāve been in way less pain overall and the infection area has dramatically reduced in size. My doctor has said that Iām looking much better, and that I am āturning a cornerā, hence the blog title š I have been put on a new medication that is a very strong anti-amoeba (not even sure if thatās a correct technical term but whatevs) that has proven to be very efficient at killingā¦

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!! The one day a year where stuffing your face full of candy is socially acceptable!! After my last post, I unfortunately took a turn for the worst, and had multiple med complications from the pressure meds the doctors put me on. Ā Since then, it took me about two weeks to feel normal, a week to wean myself (yes myself) off of opioid medications, and a coupleā¦
