Chicken coop and yard

I get about 8 eggs a day so far this was my first soft shelled egg I got I've read that sometimes first eggs can be laid without a shell or a soft shell this is a soft shell I give my hens layer pellets and oyster shell so I'm sure this is just a new layer. But i thought this was cool and interesting to show what a soft shell looks like and tell you that it is a normal thing that happens. The following day all eggs had hard shells 😀.

This is my coop and my chicken yard it seems to work well I have a few that free range daily can't seem to keep them inside the yard are pretty good flyers . One is a little Brown bantam Cochin that I believe the others pick on not sure if it's male or female for sure seems small compared to others .

I had 21 chickens they are about 5 months old. This is my first time owning chickens so I learn new things every day 8 of them are now laying eggs everyday. They are very fun to have as pets I never in a million years would ever think I could fall in love with chickens but I have I am a total chicken lady and so is my better half Jay. We lost 2 chickens one was a cross beaked little rooster he was killed I believe by a bobcat the other red sexlink hen died mysteriously in her nesting box I'm told that it happens that it was probably a heart attack. Was sad but nature . We have three roosters that we are not sure what to do with yet but for now they protect the flock .
