So what I realized, because after I wrote Singular, which was just one album initially, it became two albums over time. When I was picking the songs to put on each side, which Act II has changed a little bit since then, but Act I just felt like those songs made the most sense. Those songs felt like it represented that new sound, new confidence. Then Act II, like I described it as: Act I makes you feel comfortable with yourself. in late 2011, one direction released their debut album, up all night. the four years that followed were delightful, and the world seemed at peace. but everything was disrupted when they announced their hiatus around 2016. terrible things started happening; trump got elected, countries fell into crisis, climate change got worse, jared leto played the joker… the list goes on and on.
