That is very true! A good cloudy day is always welcome, too. I lived here when I was younger, and subsequently moved for schooling, but it was the only place Iâve ever been drawn to in the sense of settling down⊠which may seem lame, but itâs the truth! Iâve lived in Chicago and Portland. It all depends on whether youâd feel tired or not. Olympic swimmers carb load before a meet, so they have enough energy to plow through the water. Itâs kind of the same? But not really at all. They have definitely seen worse. I like letting in natural light, and I sometimes forget thatâs the case when walking through the house âor just, you know, living. Iâm going to have to keep you away from my neighbors! A typical walk, yes, but that just sounds like every other day⊠And Iâve never went on a walk with you, so itâs not an ordinary day!
I donât remember you when I was younger, and I swear youâre not someone I would forget. My memory is pretty great! Then again, things happened that left me a bit frazzled for a few years. How was Chicago?! Iâve always wanted to go but, sadly, I really donât travel much. Iâll leave the carb loading before activity to them - and nurses - I prefer naps after. Iâm totally going to introduce myself to your neighbors! An ordinary walk with a new person?
heymickcyâ:
I will say that the view of the stars here is so much better than anywhere else Iâve been! I love visiting big cities, but the light pollution alone is enough to keep a girl coming back. Snacks are always welcome at the stations, especially for the night crew. Everyone has a tendency to carb load to stay awake, so food runs aplenty! Pants are a nuisance, usually, but running outside to howl without them⊠I donât know. I was going to say I wouldnât want my neighbors to see me in such a situation, but theyâve probably seen worse. It has been, but then we got real with hunting, and honestly, Iâm not trying to have anything happen to either of us!
Breathtaking when they are visible. Cloudy nights pass through more often than not, but the area is gorgeous regardless. Where did you live before here? Doesnât carb load make you tired? I always need a good nap after a bunch of carbs. If your neighbors have seen worse I need to have a conversation with them. People amuse me so I would love to hear what theyâve got to say! So just a typical walk through the woods then?
heymickcyâ:
Itâs everything you can imagine and more! Next full moon, come on in for a visit⊠Just bring along a snack and none of the other nurses would complain about a random presence. You can listen to whatâs happening where for a bit. Oh man, the no pants would be the part that got me before the howl, honestly. Drunk people make noises, but sir, where are your pants?! That sounds like the best option, but if Iâm being frank, we can just venture out to have a good time and not worrying about scaring people. If we happen to stumble upon some, well â it was fate!
Full moons have me out in meadows enjoying the stars, if theyâre visible, the majority of the time. However, I think I can scoop some time out to bring you snacks and check out the crazy people. A part of me seriously understood his no pants moment because they are such a hassle! However, I would not be standing in the middle of the road with a beer in hand. Isnât the whole point to scare people though?

I know some people prefer the sun and being able to go outside whenever they want, but to me thereâs nothing better than curling up on a dreary day with a good book and a hot cup of tea. I have to say though, given the weather, Iâve gone through far too many books since Iâve been here. Iâm starting to run out! Will take any suggestions if you have some.
I am totally one of those sun people! I could spend all day laying on a rock under the sun and be happy as can be. Itâs been a long while since Iâve read a good book so Iâm afraid I canât give you any suggestions, but there are some great bookstores in surrounding towns!Â
shutuptalaâ:
I honestly would be upset at the laughing thing, except I would have totally laughed if it happened to someone else. The laptop was not saved by the rice, sadly. So I am now in the market for a new one. You have to help me shop for one! Itâs the least you can do. Yâknow, after laughing at me.
I suppose helping you shop for one is something I can do. Iâve got to head to Seattle soon to pick up a few things, want to tag along? We can check out a best buy or apple store. Iâm not sure what kind of laptop girl you are? PC or Apple? I feel like we should have a proper burial for your poor laptop.Â

I feel like tourists need to do their research before visiting somewhere. Not that this place would take much time to change their minds. Iâm originally from Australia, but I left when I was in my teenage years and travelled a lot. What about yourself, have you lived here all your life?
Hold on, youâre from Australia and ended up here?! This is a pretty big difference from the outback... or I assume it is. I havenât traveled much! I was born and raised here. Itâs home. And actually sounds kind of sad when you think about it. Where is the coolest place youâve travelled?Â
shutuptalaâ:
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get coffee out of a laptop? I may or may not have spilled an entire cup on my keyboard. Emphasis on the may have. Google says to put it in rice, so thatâs where Iâm at now. Any suggestions are much appreciated - I donât really want to go and get a new one.Â
I feel bad for laughing but Iâm totally am at the moment! I donât think there is saving any laptop that has been spilled on. However, I hope the rice works for your sake!
HEY EVERYONE! Katie has friends in town visiting so we havenât had time to be around the past few days. Weâre throwing a party tonight for her birthday đđđž which was last week. SO Iâll be around tomorrow a bit to get to replies and starters - Katie will be back Monday most likely because her friends donât leave until then. WE LOVE YOU ALL!Â
judehcrrisâ:
You know what, after I thought it might get bad, but it actually hasnât been. Not too many peopleâbut youâre not wrong. Smart-asses, almost every single one of them! Is that a rule or law that I just donât know about?
I donât know if itâs a rule so much as something this town turns people into. Are you telling me youâre not a smartass? Because I think deep down there is a little bit of one inside you too.Â
lincolnbrownâ:
You wonât get an argument from me there. Hey, come on, now! Donât put us down. Our town has character â and you know it. You also forgot fishing. I wouldnât trade it for even Cabo â I would gladly go on vacation to Cabo, though. Especially if youâre offering.
Fishing... and cliff jumping! I forgot that one too. We also have town drunks who have the most amazing tales! Ughh, Cabo needs to be visited soon! I generally wait until it gets cold outside to take off, tho. I want to bask in the sunshine while Forks is buried in snow.
heymickcyâ:
I totally believe that a full moon can mess with people, without the shadow of a doubt. Work has certainly solidified that for me, too â youâd be surprised what comes in on those nights! But there are far too many people out there who blame shitty life choices on âMercury in retrograde,â or something dumb like that. I donât know? Maybe. Letâs do everything we can not to have the same fate, if so.
Iâm almost afraid to ask what comes in on those nights! Things are a bit amiss around this area which only seems to amplify when the moon is at itâs fullest. I actually saw a man howling at a full moon during our last one. Just standing in the middle of the street, beer in hand, no pants on, howling. Weâll check with rangers and the sheriff to find out which campers come without weapons before we try anything.
thatguynoahhâ:
I hear people complaining about the weather all the time. When I moved here I was not expecting extremely hot weather like some states and countries. I end up just laughing and rolling my eyes at them. Iâm sure they will come to love this place, just like I have.Â
It will never cease to amuse me when new people roll into town with great expectations, only to find out things are the opposite. Of course, I love this area! But itâs not for the faint of heart. Where are you from?
judehcrrisâ:
So glad that I was able to put a stop to the regulars coming into my bar and calling me dumb, stereotypical, bull shit llike baby or sweetie, or thinking it was okay to try anything like grabbing my ass. Iâm all for making good tipsâbut know your fucking boundaries, am I right?! I do take comfort in knowing not one single customer made that mistake again after they realized I was not the one. Iâve tended bar pretty much across the country, but the people of Forks have been the quickest bunch to wake up and realize that in this day and ageâitâs not cute. Anyways, hereâs to my first six monthsâeveryone should stop by Rudyâs for happy hour, shots on meâas long as you donât call me honey.
Now I want to know how many people have called you honey since this post? This town is full of smartasses!
frankie-aoibhâ:
The other night I ordered takeout, and when I got home and looked in the bag I realized that there were multiple sets of cutlery. Iâm guessing that someone packed my order, took a second to think about it, and estimated that there must be at least three other people eating such a large amount of food. Little did they know that I would be devouring that all to myself.
That happens to me all the time! They should give a girl a break. Sometimes I just want to pig out on like 5 meals without feeling judged! Did you get dessert? Because life is always better with a slice of cheesecake!
