The thing about Open Rp’s

Since we don’t really do them very often anymore here’s how I play them:

They are open to anyone!

Multiple people can reply to the same open!

Some people can even reply to an open that’s already in progress and initiate a three-way interaction, but you should check with folks first

You do not need talksprites to reply to an open

YOU DO NOT NEED TALKSPRITES TO REPLY TO AN OPEN

The interactions can exist in a state of both in-person and over trollian. It depends how it’s addressed (Schroedinger’s Interaction)

Open Rp’s and talksprite interactions used to be huge markers for what was going on in the community and it was a lot easier to follow and develop a sense of people’s ocs

They were also a great way for new people to get involved and recognized!

You nod as they start informing you on the situation, scowling in annoyance at the fact that the little information they can share is vague and could be applied to a pickpocket as well as a terrorist. It only lasts for a second however as you put on a more neutral face. It’s military business and thus you’re probably “lucky” they’ve even told you this much.

You pause. The vagueness, while justified if it really is fleet-business, puts you on guard and you clear your throat. With only slight hesitation you ask- nay, demand identification from this troll. It is your job and you can’t let in any old troll on records of criminal activity. It would compromise the system.

You tilt your head a little bit in surprise. Usually your uniform is proof enough for others, making it unnecessary for you to pull out your ID. Then again, they are an officer of the law. It is their duty to make 100% sure they know who they’re dealing with, especially when considering to share sensetive information.

“⦶h, sure. Wait, let me just, uhhh... Ah, there it is” You search around in the inside pockets of your coat for a few moments, before pulling out your Fleet ID.

It contains all important information: Name, Rank, Mothership... Everything one would need to confirm your identity and know who you are. And also, a really old photograph, made back when you joined the fleet. “Uh, d⦶n’t mind the ph⦶t⦶... It was taken bef⦶re I g⦶t rid⦶f th⦶se h⦶rns. Y⦶u see, they were a pain t⦶ maintain.”

Sterno: Look for Remains (Open)

You carefully make your way down the steep, rocky hillside, deeper into the pinewood forest. You are a long way from your hive, too long to make it back before the dawn of the day. But you are sure the reward of this trip could be well worth the effort. You have seen blurry images and read texts from old books about the creatures roaming these forests. Deer-like creatures as deadly as beautiful. You aren’t hunting for them tho. All you are looking for are their mortal remains- Their skulls to be precise. You had spend your trip thinking about what you could do with one of those once you find one. Carvings? Intricately painted patterns? A combination of both? Or maybe just something simple, underlining the natural beauty of the creature it once belonged to? But now, you have to concentrate on your surroundings. The terrain is difficult to traverse, the soft forest floor pierced with sharp, white limestone rock formations. But that is not your main concern. The creatures roaming these woods, other trolls that might live here and would defend their territory... Those are the real reasons your one working eye keeps darting around from under your mask.

You freeze as you hear a sound from the dark underwoods to your left. Something- Or someone- is moving there. You whirl around, Strife Specibus appearing in your hand.

“hello?... who goes there... show yourself...” You are not nearly as confident as you try to convey with your voice and posture. You still hope that it was enough to intimidate potential attackers.

For some plot ideas, I think we could definitely do quite a bit. Of course, that would mean Sterno would have to find Rablon, since he’s a little… tied in place, for the moment, hehehe. I see a lot of pale resonating with them, especially because they have the same aesthetic, even if it’s for completely different reasons.

I headcanon that Rablon would absolutely momma bird Sterno, meaning that he’d be very protective of him, take him under his broken wings and guide him to avoid the miserable life that he’s already experienced himself. A lot of their conversations would probably be internal, considering Rablon is mostly mute, or has a hard time articulating what he means without extreme difficulty and frustration, so I definitely think that they’d learn to communicate solely through body language. Or from etches in the dirt, who knows!

Potential encounters: Depends on where exactly on his timeline we are talking about. Fleet!Tauben can be met anywhere where the fleet is present, may it be on one of their ships, a colony, a battlefield or anywhere on Alternia when he’s on a mission. Rebel!Tauben mostly stays with the rebels at their camp, but can be met undercover in the city too. Honestly he’s probably one of my trolls that’s most easy to run into. Tell me a location and I can 99% come up with a reason for him to be there.But he can mostly be met face to face- He’s rerely onlinine thanks to his job being very time consuming.Open background plots/relations: There is a lot of space here for old friends and comrades, maybe even some rivals. I guess he probably has met some people during his almost 200 sweeps of lifetime. And a lot of them would want him down- Think of all the trolls he killed, and the heartbroken quadmates they left behind!What I’m looking for (plotting potential future quadrants/relationships): Well his pale quadrand is probably forever off-limits because of the tragic loss of his Moirail. If you wanna give it a try, it would require some good plotting and will probably end up being one-sided. But I was thinking about getting him a Kismesis at some point. They’d have to be able to take quite some hits tho. Other than that, maybe a Rival from his time in the army? Or just friend? Comrades?Future plots I’m looking for with the character:Hmmm I have a few up my sleeve here that just need the right troll to fit in. Like, some instances of him saving his targets by helping them fake their death to get off the fleets radar. Him (maybe together with a comrade?) hunting down an especially dangerous target, just to maybe find out they’re not as dangerous as the reports make it seem?Him fighting a troll that wants to kill him because he killed their moirail, who was a dangerous rebel or something? Maybe adventures on other planets? ALIEN ENCOUNTERS???

So uh I woke up from the sleepies thinking about that new troll and I uuuhhhh might add her to the main roster at some point because I got some maybe cool ideas here so bare with me as I write it down so I don’t forget

SO first of all let me say that Nadjia is based on my non-fantroll OC Nadja who again is based on a fan-character for the STALKER universe that goes by the same name and the nickname Bee. So yeah from Fan-OC to OC and back to fandom OC I guess.

My idea for her is that she is a troll, but was not born on Alternia but on one of the countless other planets the Empire has conquered. She got to alternia via a fleet spacecraft that she stole, together with some others, to escape her planet as it was about to be destroyed by the exploding star of its solar system.

Her psionic powers allow her to create / control ashes and dust and are connected to her home planet. Back there, her powers were much weaker than they are now because they are based on the necrotic energies that are created when something dies on the planet. There was a lot of death, sure, but nothing compared to the whole fucking planet burning down in the heatwave of an exploding star. That was when her powers kinda got out of control.

While lightyears away from her home system, her powers still connect her to it. And it is painful. She lost her home, her friends, everything.

I might need to think more on what her planet was like when it existed to determine how much she knows about Alternian troll culture. Were quadrants a thing back on her planet, or ore those new concepts to her? Did she have a Lusus? Does she know what the Hemospectrum is? I don’t know man.
