You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like Johnlock, and Vamplock.
Stranger: Alright, I think it is fair to say you oughtn't be the one to lock yourself in your room after /I/ find out you are a bloody vampire. JW
You: It seems pretty logical from in here. SH
Stranger: Do explain it then. I'm listening. JW
You: You're going to leave or want me to leave. I cannot bare to face either. SH
Stranger: I'm not going anywhere and neither are you. JW
Stranger: A bloody vampire. I don't know why I am so shocked. JW
You: Perhaps because you didn't think they were real before now. SH
Stranger: But you? /You?/ I mean, really. My luck to get the vampire flatmate. I could actually laugh. JW
You: Many would not deem it a laughing matter. Many have not. SH
Stranger: So others know about you? JW
You: Just a few in this lifetime. SH
Stranger: Who? JW
You: Lestrade. Molly. Mrs. Hudson. SH
Stranger: You are fucking kidding me. JW
You: I'm not. Please don't be mad at them. SH
Stranger: You bloody go and tell everyone /but/ the bloke you live with? JW
You: I did not tell them, they found out, like you did. SH
You: I knew them before I knew you, John. SH
Stranger: Three years, you bastard. JW
You: Three years that you were remarkably unobservant in. SH
Stranger: Because it's quite easy to identify a vampire that can go out in the sunlight, occasionally eats human food, and happened to be my best mate. JW
You: Real vampires do not necessarily share all likenesses to the media ones. And I didn't know how to tell you. SH
Stranger: Before I saw your fangs would have been a great time. Any time, really. JW
You: I'm sorry. SH
Stranger: I think I need a drink. JW
You: There's some in one of the cupboards. SH
Stranger: Found it. So, what am I to do with the dead man in the other room? JW
Stranger: You, that is. JW
You: I don't know. I suppose that's up to you. SH
You: And I believe the term is undead. SH
Stranger: Find. Undead bloke. I don't bloody know. JW
You: Well, apart from finding out that I've been a vampire this whole time, nothing else has changed. SH
Stranger: You've been lying to me for years. That changes things a tad. JW
You: Not exactly lied. You have never asked if I was a vampire before. SH
You: If you had, i would have said yes. SH
Stranger: Avoiding the truth, then. JW
You: Perhaps that's a better way to put it. SH
You: ...you're afraid now. You're thinking of all the times I could have bitten you, and other ridiculous notions. SH
Stranger: Cautious. I'm cautious and on my way to drunk. Why didn't you do it? JW
You: Because you're my friend. And because I've been drinking from blood packets for just about as long as before they used to carry blood in jars. SH
Stranger: Right. Right. JW
Stranger: Do we have another bottle of scotch? JW
You: No. But I believe there is some bourbon hidden in a corner. SH
Stranger: Right, cheers to that. JW
Stranger: So you died? You died and became this? JW
You: I don't know if I ever was officially dead. I was changed. Although the process does feel like dying. SH
Stranger: And you'll live forever? JW
You: I was not quite this age appearance when I was bitten. There seems to be some aging, but very slowly. So there may be a day I will die, but not for a long, long time. SH
You: Also, it is possible to kill a vampire, though it's more difficult than killing a human. SH
Stranger: So I could kill you? How many of "me" have there been for you, Sherlock? JW
You: Not as many as you think. Most left once they found out, and those who didn't either didn't stay for long, or did eventually die. SH
You: I still remember where some of them are buried, though one is lost somewhere in the catacombs of Paris. SH
Stranger: Jesus Christ. Jesus H. Christ. JW
You: I didn't kill them. SH
You: Humans die. That's what happened, they were all humans. Even if they lived long, natural lives, they would still be long dead. SH
You: (brb)
Stranger: But you /collected/ them! Collected people. That's-that is wrong. So bloody wrong. You've collected me, too. JW
You: Collected them? SH
You: They were people I cared for. I remember where they were buried. I have memories of them. How is that different from other humans who outlive their friends? SH
Stranger: You aren't human. You know that they are going to wither away with time. We don't have that promise. JW
You: So you're saying I should completely shut myself off from the world then I already am. Not interact with humans at all? SH
Stranger: No, I don't bloody mean that. Isn't there someone of your kind you are attached to? JW
You: I know very few other vampires, and that includes my brother. Do you think I wish to stay attached to them? SH
Stranger: Then make a vampire. JW
You: I don't like being a vampire. You think I would be willing to put that curse on someone else? Let alone someone I cared for? SH
Stranger: Well what if they didn't want to leave you? What if out of all those people you knew, there were some that didn't want to die because they would be seperated from you? What then? JW
You: I used to ask, John. I don't anymore. SH
Stranger: You should. Idiot. JW
You: Why? SH
Stranger: Because you don't know if they will say yes. JW
You: Sure. John Watson, would you be willing to become a vampire so that you could spend a very, very long time alive as my friend? The perks are needing to drink human blood. SH
Stranger: Yes. JW
You: ....pardon? SH
Stranger: I said "yes." JW
You: John, you've had to much to drink. I think you better go to bed. SH
Stranger: Ask me again in the morning. It will be the same. I want to be with you. JW
You: You were just now freaking out over the fact that I am a vampire. SH
Stranger: Angry over the fact, and the fact there were others just like me. JW
You: You're angry I had other friends? SH
Stranger: I'm not angry over that. JW
You: Then what exactly are you angry about? SH
Stranger: I'm jealous, alright! JW
You: Jealous? You're jealous? SH
Stranger: Shove off. I'm going to bed. JW
You: Wait, please tell me. Why would you be jealous? SH
Stranger: Because you've meet all these people over the years, cared about them, and I know plenty were better than me, and you're the only bloody one I've felt this way about, and I'm just a human. A dull human. JW
You: John. SH
You: To be fair, I've lived far more lifetimes, so it would even out if I were human. SH
You: Is this why you said yes? SH
Stranger: No. JW
You: Oh. You know, there's no way of saying if any one of them was better. They did what you do now, just at different points in history. You are as remarkable as any of them. SH
Stranger: See? Dull humans. We probably all seem dull in the end when you live long enough. JW
You: Some humans are dull, but the others and especially you, have never been dull. I was never a fan of others even as a human though. SH
Stranger: I've had too much to drink. JW
You: You should sleep. SH
Stranger: You aren't cold. Not like a dead man should be. JW
You: It's odd. Blood doesn't pump through my veins. But I can still be warm. SH
Stranger: [Delayed] Sleep with me. JW
You: Pardon? SH
Stranger: Sleep with me. Please. JW
You: Are you sure? SH
Stranger: Yes. Just in my bed, with me. JW
You: Alright. Why? SH
Stranger: Because I feel a bit sad. JW
You: Fine. I would not appreciate being hurled on though. SH
Stranger: I'm not that drunk. Made it up the stairs fine. Help me undress. JW
You: You seem that drunk. But fine, I'll be up in a moment. SH

Stranger: (WWII AU ft. Fem!lock) 13 January 1944
Dear Sherlock,
I know that I told you I’d write to you as often as I could before I was deployed, and I think I was doing pretty well the first couple of months, but… you know, there’s a war on and all. There hasn’t been a lot of time for anything aside from sleeping, eating, and trying not to miss home too much. And, as you might expect, trying to write to you just made not missing home impossible.
Which comes to the obvious question - “But John, why bother writing me now? I haven’t heard from you in months.” And you’re quite right. I might be pushing my luck in writing to you, but I thought you should know that I’m coming home. I’m in a safe zone on the Continent right now, but by the time you get this, I’ll probably be in London. I can’t give you too many details about why. They’re worried about us sending home sensitive information. But try to find me at Bart’s when you get this. And yes, I mean the Bart’s you’re thinking of. I’m sorry.
See you then,
John Watson (25)
You: Sherlock could almost tear the paper apart from the way she was gripping it. Yes, she was well aware there was a war going on. And yes, she was nearly thinking those exact same words that John had written down; why bother writing me now? For the last few months, every letter and every knock on her door had been sending a cold chill down her spine. And seeing that she was a consulting detective with her own flat, that happened far to many times during the day that she dared to count. She had even returned to abusing her drug problem, which she knew she promised John she wouldn't, but, the bastard had also said he would write.
And then there were the words near the end of the later. "I'm sorry." Sherlock gave a very unladylike curse and went to throw off her night clothes and started to hurriedly get dressed. She didn't even take the time to inform Mrs. Hudson on what was happening, and really she wanted to know what the predicament fully was before she told the older woman anything. Taking a cab, which were harder to come by nowadays, she went straight to St. Bart's.
She was like a storm on heels when she came to the receptionist desk, looking to the lady with a fierce look. "I'm here to see a Captain John Watson. Recently returned. Is he here?"
Stranger: The receptionist was an older woman, somewhere between Sherlock's mother and grandmother in age, and looked rightfully affronted by the thoroughly agitated young woman in front of her. "Captain John Watson," she repeated. "That sounds familiar. Give me one moment." She pulled a file out of the cabinet beneath her desk and glanced up at Sherlock skeptically. "Are you... his wife?"
You: Sherlock straightened up, crossing her arms in front of her and tapping her toe. She didn't really care how she was acting at the moment, she just want to get to John and strangle him (and hopefully just that). When asked if she was his wife, she paused for a moment, "....in almost every sense, but. I need to see him, he's expecting me."
Stranger: Had the receptionist been less intimidated by Sherlock, she likely would have told her that visiting hours for non family members were over for the day, but she was distinctly aware of the possibility of Sherlock physically assaulting her. She opened the file, ran her finger down a list of names, and eventually found, "Watson, John H... Room 129b."
You: "Thank you." There was a mix of exasperation, gratitude, and relief all in one, and without another word, she stepped passed the receptionist desk and to the main halls. Sherlock was quick in finding 129b, and with barely a hint of hesitation (although her heart felt like it was going to burst from her chest) she opened the door quite suddenly, looking to the hospital beds.
Stranger: It was a private room, likely due to a. John's rank, b. the size of the room, and c. the seriousness of John's injury. He had been dozing, but sat bolt upright (too quickly) when the door opened, revealing a heavy bandage on his upper arm that disappeared around his chest under his vest. It seemed to take him about a second to get his bearings, but he didn't exactly relax when he saw Sherlock. "So you uh... got my letter?"
You: Sherlock stood there in the doorway, looking with all intent and purposes of doing some serious harm. Finally she came in and closed the door behind her, coming up to stand just to the side of the bed. She crossed her arms in front of her once more and stared at John, before finally saying. "You didn't write."
Stranger: John sighed and propped himself up against the pillows on his bed. He couldn't quite bring himself to make eye contact. "I know," he said. "I tried, but..." He shook his head. "I'm sorry."
You: Sherlock narrowed her eyes. "Do you have any idea how I felt....every time there was a call or someone came...." her voice sound strained, like she was on the verge of tears. Finally she just stopped trying to talk and came up to the other and animatedly started to fluff his pillow and pull up his blanket, in some attempt to make him comfortable.
Stranger: "I know, I-" he cut himself off when she came towards him, half expecting her to wrap her hands around his neck. When she started fussing with his bedding, he sighed again and wriggled off to one side. "Come here," he said, patting the bed next to him.
You: Sherlock paused, looking up to John then to the bed. She still looked like a woman about to murder someone, and they had seen such women before. Finally, she kicked off her heels and climbed into bed with him, mindful of his injuries, but moving up close to him. "....I am seriously keeping myself from strangling you right now."
Stranger: She was on the same side as his good arm, and he was able to prop it on the pillows behind her without quite putting his arm around her. "Yeah, I know," he said. "I don't blame you. I told you I'd write, and I didn't, but..." He huffed. "Look, I knew that if I died, my family would make sure you knew. It just... it got really hard to find anything to say."
You: "Even just a word?"she accused, but she could already feel herself shimmering down. She looked to his injured arm now. "....you're home now though. Not the way I would have wanted, but certainly a lot earlier." she glanced back at him. "....does it still hurt?"
Stranger: "A bit," he admitted. "But I've been out of commission nearly a month. Not much more staying in the hospital's really gonna do for me. Have to start moving it sometime."
You: "Well, after this place you're coming back to 221B." Sherlock stated. She paused, looking away for a moment. "....I've missed you." she said, though just above a whisper.
Stranger: "Yeah?" He raised his eyebrows at her. He hadn't wanted to assume that there would still be a home for him at Baker Street. "I've missed you too." He moved his arm down to her shoulders and gave her a gentle, one-armed hug.
You: Sherlock leaned into the hug, closing her eyes for a moment. "...I guess this is as good as time as any to tell you that I didn't keep my promise either." He'd find out eventually.
Stranger: John frowned, and Sherlock could probably hear his heart start beating faster. "Which promise is that?"
You: Sherlock didn't quite try to pull away yet. "...the drugs one." she admitted. "...and I suppose the keeping out of danger one too. There were some interesting cases that popped up."
Stranger: "Why the hell would you do something like that?" he asked quietly. He didn't pull away either.
You: "It helped numb the fear." she said.
Stranger: "I thought you were into that sort of thing."
You: "Not when that fear is waiting on hearing if you're alive or not!" she accused, vehemently.
Stranger: "Well, seeing as how I'm not dead, do I have the honors of getting you clean?" he asked casually. "Again?"
You: Sherlock was quiet for a moment, before nodding. "It's not going to be any easier."
Stranger: "Yeah, wouldn't expect it to be," he muttered."
You: Sherlock sighed, "Think of it as your punishment for not writing, and I won't strangle you once you're out of this hospital bed."
Stranger: "Fine," he agreed. "But I reserve the right to get your brother involved."
You: Sherlock groaned. "Oh, John, come on!"
Stranger: "I need some kind of insurance!"
You: "Don't get him involved right away!"
Stranger: "That I can agree to," he said with a nod. "But if things get too bad, I reserve the right to call him."
You: Sherlock sighed. "Fine." she paused for a minute, before saying, "Can I just stay here tonight?"
Stranger: John sighed too. "I wish. But I think they'll kick you out around eight."
You: Sherlock huffed. "I can be very persuasive."
Stranger: "I don't want you traumatizing any of these poor nurses," he scolded. "They're just trying to do their jobs. But I'd like you to stay, so we'll see."
You: "It's not like I require any food or anything." Sherlock said, resting her head on John's shoulder. "....what was it like out there?"
Stranger: John rested his head against hers and pursed his lips at her question. He didn't particularly want to talk about his time on the front. "Terrible," he said.
You: Sherlock closed her eyes. "Sorry. Was just curious." She paused for a moment. "Do you...want to come back to 221b?"
Stranger: "Of course I do." He shifted so that he could look at her. "Is that alright?"
You: "Of course it is." she said. "It's just, you know, it doesn't stay dull there for long."
Stranger: "I don't want dull, I want to not be in a fucking warzone," he muttered to the ceiling.
You: Sherlock shifted slightly, a bit put off by his words. "I was just checking."
Stranger: "Sorry," he sighed. "I just... I really want to go home."
You: "I really want you to be home." she admitted. Sherlock would then set a hand over his chest where there were no bandages. "You're fine now. You're not going back."
Stranger: "Can't go back," he corrected. "Discharged me. Officially unemployed and out of commission."
You: "You're not out of commission." she insisted. "Unfit for the stupid war, maybe, but you can still do other things once you're ready."
Stranger: John shook his head slightly. "I might not regain full use of my arm, I'm not walking right... I might not be good for anything anymore."
You: Sherlock was quiet for a moment. "We'll find you something to do, John."
Stranger: "Yeah, well, someone's got to get you clean," he said, nudging her playfully. "Probably good for that."
You: "You're the only one who can successfully do that." she admitted.
Stranger: (hey, I have to get going, but this was awesome)
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like winglock, vamplock, merlock, octojohn, and femlock.
You: (Transylvania AU) The weather had started very suddenly, and the wind and rain started to come down hard. Joanna could no longer see the path that led back to the small village she had been staying at. She clutched her bag to her as she slowly ambled through the forest, looking for shelter from the storm. Through the storm, she came upon the sight of a large old castle. Not stopping to question her luck, the blonde woman hurried to the entrance and pulled on the knocker on the door. It opened smoothly, and Joanna quickly scurried in and shut the door behind her. Panting, the woman gave a look around before gaining her voice back. “Hello? Anyone home? I’m….sorry for intruding, but there’s a horrible storm outside…” Joanna trailed off, marveling at the design of the castle.
Stranger: ((Just want to know before I start writing - modern day or period?))
You: (Hm, mostly modern. Though I could change it if you want.)
Stranger: ((No, it's fine, just checking.))
Stranger: Sherlock finished wiping the cloth over his skin and rubbed it at his dark curls, looking back to the man from the village he and his brother had just recently drained. Mycroft was still covered in blood and Sherlock tossed the cloth at him. "You're disgusting," he complained, moving to redress. He licked his lips as he straightened his jacket minutes later, when the sound of the door opening caught both brothers' attention. They had clearly forgotten to close and lock the door in their haste inside with the hunter. Mycroft moved to rise and Sherlock held out his hand. "You are still filthy. I will see what it is." And indeed Sherlock was pleased he had taken the lead, as a female voice called out - female and sounding from London. A woman from home, or at least what Sherlock considered home. "Hello," he called from the top of one staircase, his voice deep and booming. He slowly descended, dressed elegantly in a simple black suit. "You're simply soaked, aren't you?" He murmured as he reached the bottom of the steps, his eyes raking over her. A beautiful thing, wasn't she? Blonde and blue eyed and curvy. His head tilted in interest. "What in the world were you doing out in this storm, Miss...?"
You: The castle was simply gorgeous in every way, and Joanna had to wonder why the townspeople had not told her about this place. She would have liked to see it when there wasn't a storm in the way. Perhaps the owner didn't like visitors of any kind? That thought made the the blonde woman slightly nervous, and she nearly jumped when she heard a voice call down to her. Looking up, Joanna was very surprised to see a quite regal looking man on top of the stairs. He was an incredible sight. "Ah...?" she noticed just how wet she was when the man made a comment on it, and she took a step back as if to try and stop making a puddle on the amazing store floor. "Sorry! I just got caught up in the storm, and I came upon your castle....the front door was unlocked." she tried explaining. What else could she have done? At the question, Joanna straightened up. "I'm Dr. Joanna Watson. I'm sorry again for intruding. I'm staying in the nearby village here and I was just out seeing the sights, and I didn't keep track of the weather..."
Stranger: A doctor, yes, he could see that in her hands. Sherlock often forgot that women could become doctors in this day. And soldiers. He could see that in her stance, which meant the injury in her left shoulder was most likely a bullet wound. "Dr. Watson. You needn't apologise. I suppose my brother and I were simply surprised to receive visitors. Do excuse him, he is upstairs and not prepared for visitors." He took a few steps towards her and drew in a deep breath as subtly as possible. A positive. His favourite. She would be most delicious post-coitus as he found most blood - though he hardly received it as Mycroft did not like the endorphins in his blood. His idiot brother. Good thing his dear doctor was all his. "Come. I'll start a fire and you may warm up." He offered her his hand and a small smile. "I am Sherlock Holmes. Welcome to Holmes Castle."
You: Joanna couldn't help but steal a few more glances from the man. Regal, beautiful, he fit perfectly in an old castle like this but would stick out like a sore thumb anywhere else. Why was this place here, anyway, and why didn't anyone mention it before? Was this guy some rich tycoon who just had a fancy for old castles? That was a bit rude to assume, the castle could really just run in the family. "I guess with this weather a visitor should be surprising. I didn't even know this castle was here until I nearly ran into it." Joanna said with a light smile, shrugging. She was a bit taken aback by the hand offer. A bit old fashioned, but gentlemen like, she supposed she couldn't expect much else from people who lived around here. It wasn't London. With a smile of her own she took the others hand. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Holmes. Your castle is very lovely." Of course it's his family's castle.
Stranger: Sherlock led her into a lavish parlour and sat her down in the sofa by the fire, quickly setting up the kindling and lighting the fireplace. "There we are," he murmured as it started to warm. "The villagers do not respect us. They believe we have stolen from them." Very true, but not in the sense she would think. How many people had been stolen from the village to be devoured? It was impossible to count. He offered her another charming smile. "Please, Dr. Watson. You may call me Sherlock. Anyone hailing from dearest London is a friend." He sat himself beside her, icy eyes never moving from her. "What brings you to Transylvania?" He rested his arm behind her and tilted his head.
You: The blonde ex-soldier couldn't help but openly gawk at the parlour room's decor, being almost more extravagant than the entrance. This place was steep in history, and she wondered vaguely if Sherlock would ever think of giving her a tour before the storm went out. For now she guessed she didn't want to drip all over the place. Sitting on the sofa, Joanna rubbed at her arms as she waited for Sherlock to stoke the fire. She smiled when the fire became warmer. "Thank you." At the mention of the villagers, she raised an eyebrow. "Oh, that's to bad." though she had to wonder vaguely what they meant by stolen. Was it just because they had the bigger house that they presumed that? Joanna was taken aback when it was mentioned she was from London; she had never mentioned that. However, with a bit of mirth, she did notice how the other was becoming a bit too comfortable with her. Which, he was very handsome, but she was the one dripping wet in a strangers....castle. Joanna made a slight shift over away from Sherlock and angled her body to look to him with her back catching most of the heat. "I was serving in the Queen's army until recently, so I decided to take a vacation here. A friend of mine suggested it to me. How did you know that I am from London?"
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like johnlock, and smauglock.
You: The great dragon under the mountain lifted its head, sending pieces of gold flying this way and that. The reptilian creature looked back and forth for a moment, the movements like that of a snake. Smaug was an incredible and terrifying sight to behold, the image of ancient beauty that had been awaken after a long slumber. “Where are you thief? I can smell you.” The voice was loud, but the tone was unmistakable. Smaug was a female dragon.
Stranger: Bilbo gulped and did everything in his power to still his breathing and stay absolutely still. He absent-mindedly clutched onto the finger that held the ring as if that would make it work better. The fact that the terrible, awful dragon that dwelled under the mountain seemed to be female did not assuage his fear in the slightest.
You: No living creature had walked these dwarven halls in many years since Smaug had moved in. And the fact that there was one now....excited her. Of course, it brought up the question of how they had entered, but perhaps a little terrorizing after a good nap was what she needed. If dwarves were back though....well, she's handled them before. Lifting up from the gold mound, the red dragon started to slink her away slowly around, looking for the intruder. "There is no use hiding. I can smell you. I can feel your air. Come out. Don't be shy." The last few words she almost seemed to coo out, as if tempting the thief to appear.
Stranger: Fearing that the dragon was getting much too close for comfort, Bilbo very slowly began to walk backwards, never once taking his eyes off of the beast. It was a miracle that the ring made it impossible for the dragon to see him, but he had no idea how much longer he could keep this up. His answer came moments later when he lost his footing over a golden treasure, making him stumble. Nearly cursing his clumsiness, Bilbo stood in fear.
You: It was a strange scent the thief had. Smaug was sure she had never smelled it before. It was neither dwarf nor elf nor human. Whatever it was it kept out of sight well. Almost like...the dragon's head swiveled as she heard the abrupt noise of treasure moving. She came in close, looking down at a patch of gold of where it came from, but seeing nothing. The smell was stronger now. "Reveal yourself thief." the dragon growled, and suddenly made her chest start to glow. "Or I will release a torrent of flames you will not be able to escape. I do not mind."
Stranger: With a gulp and completely convinced Bilbo's adventure was going to end there, he pulled off the ring, placing it in his pocket. Slowly, and doing everything in his power not to shake with fear, he raised his arms in a sign of peace. "I did not come to steal from you, O Smaug the Unassessably Wealthy. I merely wanted to gaze upon your magnificence. To see if you were as great as the old tales say. I did not believe them," he stammered. That enough was true. She was absolutely gorgeous to look at in an absolutely terrifying way.
You: Smaug shifted her footing, ready to unleash a torrent of flame just as she promised until just in sight, a creature appeared. Letting the fire cool down in her chest, she watched with renewed interest as the creature spoke. After a moment a rumble like falling stones was heard, and it appeared to be the great beast chuckling. "Such a small creature to have come to a place like this. You are even tinier than a dwarf." Puffing her chest out, the dragon unfolded out her wings and shifted slightly to show off her body. "Tell me then, wanderer, do you believe the old tales now?"
Stranger: ((Sorry one sec!))
Stranger: Bilbo stared at the dragon in complete awe, scrambling to find something to say back. "Truly, the tales and songs fall utterly short of your enormity, O Smaug, the Stupendous," he said, trying to sound much more confident than he felt. There was no way this creature was going to let him live, but perhaps he could bide himself some time...
You: Smaug showed off the fierce line of razor sharp teeth in a mock smile. "A flatterer..." The dragon then came in closer, until her snout was right close to the hobbit. She took in a deep whiff of him before angling her head to the side to get a better look at him. "And you? I have never met your kind before. Where do you come from? What was it that made you invisible until just now?"
Stranger: He did everything in his power not to fidget or cry out of fear. There was a reason Bilbo joined in on this journey and he would see it through. "I... I come from under the hill," he spat out. "And under hills and over hills my path has led... and through the air! I am he who walks unseen." Bilbo held in a breath and closed his eyes, sure he was going to die.
You: The dragon watched the little creature closely. Her eyes sparked at his answer. It was not straight forward, which would be the polite thing to do, but it sounded like a riddle. And one of the few things dragons loved were riddles. The grin appeared on the dragon's face once more as it brought itself closer to the little creature. There was a moment of still silence as the hobbit kept his eyes shut, and then, a clawed hand stroke itself through his hair, just over his ear. "Interesting. Do continue." The creature which stood before Bilbo was still much taller than Bilbo, but a bit more humanoid. It was the visage of a naked human being, although red scales still lined the sides of her body and limbs, and two large wings still poked out of her back, with horns that poked out of a head with dark black curls.
Stranger: Bilbo stared at the creature -- the woman before him and suddenly found it hard to speak. If the dragon had been gorgeous and terrifying, this being was no less. Still, the very female and very nearly human body was very much undressed and despite everything, Bilbo found himself flustered. "I-I am... Luck-wearer. Riddle-maker," he stuttered.
You: Smaug pulled away from the hobbit to observe him, though made no effort to hide any part of her physique. She raised her now human eyebrow at him. "Those sound like accomplishments. Just what on nature's ground could a tiny thing like you accomplish?" Putting her arms behind her, the dragon women started to slowly circle the hobbit, looking him over. "From far have you come? Or just as far as that measly lake town?"
Stranger: Despite her size suddenly being not much taller than Bilbo's, he couldn't help but feel like a prey being stalked. "L-Lake Town?" he asked. "And... I have found, Smaug the Great, that... that I can accomplish quite a lot. Despite my size."
You: "Yes, Lake town." The dragon stepped up behind the hobbit, to look over him. "Those pathetic humans who just barely scrape by." The tension in her voice was rising, before she let out a breath, then smiled. "Oh really? And what else have you managed to accomplish, little one? I must say, I am impressed with how you've handled yourself in my presence. You must have faced quite a few frights in your time. Though nothing quite like me, of course."
Stranger: "Nothing comes even remotely close to a deadly mix of frightening and absolutely stunning as you do, Mighty Smaug," he admitted, trying to not be angered by her disregard for the humans of Lake Town. "Wargs and orcs and goblins and kings... Somehow, I have managed to survive for I stand before you today. And I thank you for your compliment." Bilbo bowed graciously.
You: Smaug smiled and took a step back to observe the smaller creature. "That is quite a feat to accomplish just to see a living, breathing legend." Her scaled tail which dragged behind her curled just beside her feet and started to lift and play with the gold. "There must be something more you came here for. Gold?" She flicked some coins at Bilbo's feet. "Perhaps fame? Were you thinking you could slay me, riddle-maker?" the dragon women narrowed her eyes at him.
Stranger: Bilbo shook his head rapidly. "I am a simple sort. I do not seek fame or fortune," he explained. "And I am not dull enough to believe that I could slay a magnificent being such as yourself. I merely seek adventure. To be able to journey from my hole in the ground and see the world and lives the dreams of my youth while I still can." Even though in this form, it was unlikely that Smaug could eat him, he did not doubt her power to kill him in an instant. He needed to continue to tread carefully.
You: Smaug blinked then started to chuckle. "A hole dweller has come this far just to gaze upon me?" She grinned wickedly for a moment before looking out the enormous mounds of gold here. "....well, I hope that the journey here was enough to satisfy the dreams of your young self." She then looked to the hobbit with a far darker look in her eye. "And that you didn't leave anything to precious in your hole. For you see, I cannot let you simply walk out of this mountain."
Stranger: He stared at her for a moment before his eyes widened. "You're... Please, O Great Smaug. I beg that you do not kill me. I am but a simple hobbit of no consequence to you. There is... There cannot be a need."
You: "Oh, finally a name to what you are. Hobbit, eh? Hm, I almost prefer riddle-maker." The dragon women took a step closer to the hobbit. "There is a need, little traveler. You see, if I let you leave, then that will make me look soft and will invite a mess of travelers who would indeed have ideas of greed and fame." Her wings expanded out to bear down at him, coming around the both of them. "Now, I have destroyed kingdoms and armies, but I am quite interested in the quiet life now, if you wouldn't blame me. Why should I risk that for one tiny, hole-dweller who merely let curiosity get the better of him?"

Stranger: ((No I didn't! Sorry!))
You: (That's ok! It was our connection's fault!))

You: (That was it ^^ )
Stranger: ((Yay thanks!))
You: ((No prob!))
Stranger: "I would... I would tell no one about our encounter here. No one." He pleaded. The threat of him never leaving, never seeing him home again, was nearly as terrifying as the promise of death. "I just... Please. I have nothing to offer you, O Smaug, but perhaps there is something I can do. Anything, really, for you to spare my life."
You: "For a creature who has not even given his name, you are expecting much of my trust to you." the dragon woman pointed out. She crossed her arms then in a dismissive manner. "And what possibly could you offer to me, hm?" Her tail came up to rest just behind Bilbo's feet. "I could keep you alive, for entertainment. You seem to have enough stories to amuse me, but you will still never leave here. Which would you prefer? The rest of your life here or death? I could make the last one quick and painless."
Stranger: "B-Bilbo!" He blurted out. "Bilbo Baggins. Of Hobbiton." Knowing his adventure ended here, Bilbo took a deep breath. "I ask for you to spare me, O Smaug. I will continue to amuse you if you feel me adequate to do so."
You: Smaug smiled and then laid her sharp claws just onto his scalp. "Very well then, Bilbo Baggins. The little hobbit from under the hill. I will spare your life as long as you stay here." She pressed her claws just a bit into the others scalp, not to much to break skin, but to show they were indeed sharp. "If you ever try to escape from here, I will catch you and kill you, in the slowest and most painful way possible." She then moved her hand to lightly caress the hobbit's cheek. "Are we in agreement, then?"
Stranger: He shuddered before glancing up into the very blue eyes of Smaug the Terrible. "We are in agreement," Bilbo said softly. "I... Thank you. For sparing my life. I am indebted to you." The little hobbit bowed, even though 'indebted' was certainly not the right word. He really was lucky to still be breathing even if he was being held prisoner, though. There was no reason for Smaug to keep him alive.
You: The dragon smirked, before taking a step back and sitting back onto her gold, getting comfortable. "Excellent. Now you can start earning your keep by telling me more of your adventures. I did just wake up from a long nap, so I am dying for entertainment." And she sat there, rather human like, and raised an expectant eyebrow at the hobbit.
Stranger: Bilbo shook away any thoughts he might have had from how endearing the expression on her face looked as he shifted the weight between his feet. "I suppose I was a curious child. Always tracking dirt in and coming home late. Not very proper for a hobbit, mind you, but... As I grew older, responsibilities piled up and... I forgot all about my improper childhood. And then one morning, a wizard showed up on my doorstep in the hopes of me joining him on an adventure. I sent him away immediately, but he returned. And somehow, I was convinced to go on a journey to finally see the Dragon Under the Mountain."
You: A small smile appeared on Smaug's face as she listened at first. To imagine that there was point when this little creature was even tinier! How did his kind manage to get by....She listened carefully, but at the mention of the wizard, she perked up. The lady sat up a bit, her wings unfolding from her back for a moment. "A wizard, you say? And what kind of adventure did this wizard wish you to go on?" She spoke softly, but there was a tension behind her tone.
Stranger: ((Just out of curiosity, since we've been going by the book so far, should we keep it cannon or should it be that Bilbo really just wanted to see the dragon?))
You: ((Well, usually I like keeping off canon, but I actually have some ideas if we still stay canon. Up to you?))
You: ((I will not kill Bilbo either way XD))
Stranger: ((Yay for not dead Bilbo! I usually like keeping it off Cannon too but if you have ideas with the cannon, maybe we can do that!))
Stranger: ((And sorry, I'll be right back!))
You: ((No prob!))
Stranger: Bilbo's eyes widened with fear once he realized what he admitted. There was no way he could lie to the dragon. Maybe tell a half-truth, but certainly not lie. His punishment would only be worse once she realized the truth. Taking a deep breath and silently praying, he looked at her once more. "My intentions to see your magnificence was not a lie. But there is more truth behind my journey." Trying and failing to suppress his fear, he took another deep breath. "I was requested by a wizard, an old friend of my mother, to join the remaining dwarf royalty in an attempt to regain their footing." There. He sealed his fate. He would suffer the consequences.
You: The dragon woman had grown quite silent at this admittance. Finally, she got back to her feet, and stared the hobbit down for a moment before looking away. She seemed to be searching as if the dwarves were already here. Her eyes started to glow and when she bared her teeth, they were far more pointier than before. "So the descendant of Durin's line believes he can come and reclaim his home kingdom from me? I will show him how very foolish his endeavor has been."
Stranger: He closed his eyes. The plan was going nearly as well as he had originally expected. "They merely wanted the Akenstone! Just a jewel that would give them the right to rule..." Bilbo shook his head rapidly. There had to be a way to convince the dragon otherwise. "I beg of you, Smaug the Magnificent, please do not take out your anger on the dwarfs. They only miss their home. I will... I will take their punishment if you allow them to flee!"
You: Smaug switched her gaze back to the hobbit, as if for a moment she had forgotten he was there. "You have already given me what I want. You belong to me now, and there is nothing else you can barter with." She breathed out, a plume of smoke escaping her nostrils. "They will not stop with just the Arkenstone. They will use it to wage a war onto me. I refused to let you leave, do you expect me to give away such a poignant piece of treasure?" she snapped, then looked out over the mounds of gold again. "Perhaps an example of what power I still hold will be good enough to keep them away again. I could make a shining example of Lake Town to show to not mess with me."
Stranger: "They don't care much for my well-being!" he blurted out. "If I don't return, they shall leave. They are very small in number and I'm sure if they believed me dead, they would return back to where they came." It stung ever-so-sligthtly to admit all of that out loud, but it was the truth. "They value each other and could be convinced to leave immediately. I doubt anyone would ever try again. Please, O Smaug. Let them flee with their lives along with the humans of Lake Town."
You: The dragon woman looked back to Bilbo, eyes narrowed. After a moment of contemplation, the dragon approached the other swiftly before suddenly holding him him from under his arms, glaring at him t eye level. "You better speak the truth, hobbit." And with that, she held him close to her body, moving and twisting about for a moment, moving the gold with her tail. Once she was done, she laid herself and him down, surrounded by a tall mound of gold which hid them from sight. "We wait here. And if you dare make a sound I will snap your leg." The dragon settled, one arm wrapped around the hobbit holding him close. Waiting.
You: ((My internet blinked out, so incase we do lose connection again and you'd like to continue this at all, my email is [email protected]))
Stranger: ((Thank you so much!))
Stranger: Bilbo gasped for the air that was completely knocked out of his lungs before quickly stilling his breath. He nodded quickly, fear evident in his eyes. He silently prayed for the dwarfs to leave. Perhaps some of them would request a rescue, but there was no way Thorin would allow it. There was no way he would risk this quest for his life. He would stay here, this dragon's prisoner, if it meant having the company escape. They weren't a bad sort and he had grown to be fond of more than a few of them.
You: The dragon stayed still and silent, looking out above them, concentrating on any noise or smells that would give indication to intruders. Absently, her hand clutching over Bilbo's clothes would tighten then release on occasion, not pinching at his skin but more so nervously playing with his clothes. At one point she shifted and set her chin on top of his head, her eyes drifting closed for a moment at the soft feel of his hair before snapping back open to stay alert.
Stranger: He glanced up, surprised to see her starting to fall asleep before immediately waking herself up. The action was nearly... Catlike. Or human. Bilbo shook away the thoughts, trying to remain as still as possible in the vain hopes that Smaug would find herself falling asleep again. Besides, her touches certainly weren't hurting him anyway. He'd be the bedding to a dragon if it meant to company could escape anyway.
Stranger: *anyday
You: Smaug coiled her tail up to cover over her and Bilbo's legs, and eventually, her hand movements started to slow down until they eventually came to a halt. Her head drifted to the side, still resting over Bilbo's and eventually, her breathing slowed. A dragon can be quite lazy sometimes, and for some reason, Bilbo Baggins was quite nice to curl up to. Almost better than sleeping under an enormous pile of gold. Too bad she didn't acquire him decades ago.
Stranger: Completely astounded by his luck, Bilbo let the dragon rest on top of him, not daring to move a muscle in the fears of waking her. Having the opportunity, Bilbo stared down at the dragon-turned-woman above him. It may have been rude, but there was not much else to look at as she took up most of his view. He was certainly more fearful of her than curious, but that did not mean he was not curious at all. She looked peaceful while she slept in a way she hadn't looked while awake. And Bilbo's praise wasn't untrue, she really was something quite otherworldly gorgeous.
You: The sleeping Smaug was unaware of Bilbo's eyes on her physique. Not that it would probably put her off anyway, she made no attempt to cover herself the moment she turned into this form. She seemed quite comfortable in her body, which wasn't surprising being a dragon and all. The caverns of the dwarf kingdom seemed quiet as they laid there. Then, there was sound of moving gold from a short distance away. Smaug twitched slightly at the sound, but continued to sleep on.
Stranger: Bilbo's eyes widened impossibly large at the noise. There was no way. No possible way. They weren't meant to go looking for him. It had to be a mouse that snuck in. It had to be. He continued to stay as still as possible, or as still as one could be with a very naked human looking creature laying on top of him.
You: Of course though, sometimes dwarves could be so thick headed. And with nothing heard for some time, a few of them thought that perhaps there was a chance the dragon was dead. Or that Bilbo just didn't wake it yet and they could get the sneak on it. Seeing no sight of neither hobbit nor dragon, some more of the dwarves came out of the tunnel.
You: ((oops did that too soon.))
Stranger: ((all good!))
You: There was a general bit of grumbling but then shush that came over them. Then, more movement over the gold and a pause. "....Bilbo?"
Stranger: In any other situation, Bilbo would have been happy to see them or embarrassed that he was caught in a rather compromising position with a naked human or frustration that they were so bloody stubborn... But all Bilbo could really feel was urgency and fear. "Run," he mouthed. "Forget the stone. Run. Be safe."
You: When the dwarves came upon the sight of their friend, it was quite the sight. For one thing this was not what they were expecting to see when they knew there was a dragon here. Still, the dwarves seemed to share glances with one another. Most of them backed away, except for Thorin, who pulled out his sword slowly but deliberately.
Stranger: "Thorin Oakenshield, don't you bloody dare," Bilbo hissed. It was the first time he had ever stood up to the displaced king. He had no right to do so, either. The dragon had destroyed his home and killed his kin. Bilbo had no right to demand the dwarf to do anything, really, but he was not going to stand by and let him kill her. Not in this form where she was still deadly, but very much human-looking.
You: The dwarf king paused, quite taken aback, but also pausing to see if the hobbit had awaken the dragon. He then narrowed his eyes. "She's a monster." he was able to whisper back. "She's tricked you. This is our chance." And he raised his sword, ready to strike.
Stranger: Bilbo had no reason to feel defensive over the dragon. She planned on keeping him prisoner for trespassing with no hope of escaping. And yet... "She spared my life. It is right for me to do the same in return," he whispered. Slowly, he adjusted himself so that he was in the way of Thorin's sword. "Take the gold. Take the stone. Start over and spend your days happy."
You: And now it was Thorin's turn to look quite furious. Whatever form this dragon took or what she did, she was still the monster that destroyed his home. And he would not let a burglar stand between him and his revenge and regaining his throne. So, with one mighty movement, he went into strike down at the dragon, not caring if the hobbit got in the way.
But then a wing came up to shield the two bodies, and arm grip around Bilbo's torso tightly. The wing pushed out and knocked Thorin away and the figure holding Bilbo sat up onto the pile, still holding him close, but with a glance at her wing there was an obvious bleeding wound. She was deadly silent for a moment.
Stranger: The hobbit simply stared at the members of the company around him. In no way shape or form did he expect Thorin to do something like that. He would have killed him, there was no question about that. "You..." Bilbo stared at the dwarf king in awe and horror. "I saved your life, Thorin Oakenshild! I saved your life and you would have killed me to..." He closed his eyes, knowing that Smaug's fury was just as great as his own. "And I tried to save it again just now."
You: "You let yourself be taken in by a monster!" the dwarf snapped, coming to stand on par with the humanized dragon after having been shoved away. And, almost quickly forgetting the hobbit, "Smaug the terrible, I will have what is rightfully mine back." Smaug's hands that were holding Bilbo close to herself tightened, glaring at the dwarf. "We had made an agreement to let you live, Durin's son. Yet it seems greed has blinded you." she let the hobbit go then and pushed him off to the side, away from her.
Stranger: Bilbo managed to stand up as he stared horrified at the sight before him. Without knowing what to do, he turned towards the rest of the company. "Please! Get out of here while you can! There isn't a reason for any bloodshed to be had." Especially over one dwarfs greed and everyone else's longing for home. They had each other. They could take the gold. It was very easy to see that this place would destroy their leader. "Please!"
You: "I suggest you do as the hobbit says." the dragon spoke, standing to her full height. "I'm feeling generous today, and I will not be bothered to show more of it if you push your luck." Thorin seemed livid, but before he could do anything, Bofur interfered. "And what about Bilbo. Is he to just stay here? He actually has home." "The hobbit is not up for discussion!" The dragon snapped, ".....I will allow you to take whatever you can carry with you on the grounds that you never return. Again."
Stranger: Bilbo was shocked into silence for a moment. Smaug was letting them go free. He nearly let out a sigh of relief that his friends were going to be safe. Very nearly. He smiled at Bofur, who he did consider a friend. "I will be fine. Please don't worry about me. Focus on getting the company safe and Thorin..." he sighed. "Please get help for Thorin." Carefully, not at all sure that his actions were the smartest, turned to Smaug. "You're injured," he said plainly. "I can help."
You: Bofur nodded sadly, then went to go place a hand on Thorin's shoulder. The Durin heir shook it off though, still glaring back at the dragon. The two stared each other down. "I am taking the Arkenstone." he said finally. The dragon woman gave him a cold look. "Do what you will." She broke the look for a moment to look over at Bilbo. "It is barely a nick. I have dealt with worse."
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like johnlock.
Stranger: [TW: drug use] The hum of fluorescent lights, the sterile smell of antiseptic, the steady rhythm of the heart monitor, the waxy, almost plastic bed sheets. Sherlock knew where he was before he even opened his eyes. Hospital. Christ. Waking up was always the worst part. All the memories from the previous night came rushing back in an awful, nauseating wave, crashing down over him. He could still feel the cold needle in his arm, the euphoric buzzing in his brain. But he hadn't heard John open the front door. He hadn't even considered that John would be there. But he had been so far, far away by then.
Sherlock opened his eyes, blinking against the harsh light. The room was small, but certainly not cozy. Off to one side, an uncomfortable looking chair held an exhausted looking man, who appeared to still be half asleep. "John," Sherlock called out, voice raspy, struggling to sit up. There was something besides his physical state holding him back, though... He looked down, finally noticing the cold metal handcuff tethering him to the bed. "John," he said again, but louder, a little more clearly. Panicked, even. "/John/."
You: John was practically slumped to the side in his chair, barely conscious to the world around him, much like his best friend had been the night previous. Though a big difference here was a gross lack of sleep rather then drugs. John didn't sleep a wink while Sherlock was going through the procedure, and he was still battling against it. The first call of his name wasn't very stirring, but he finally started to clue in that someone was saying it and he started to stir. Straightening up in his chair, it took him a moment to finally realize the commotion was coming from Sherlock.
Getting himself off the chair, John put a hand on the side of the bed to keep himself steady then the other on Sherlock's arm.
"Sherlock, calm down....it's alright." His trained mind made him look to the monitors quick before focusing back on the other. "You're safe."
Stranger: Sherlock's wrist pulled harshly against his restraint, the sharp, metal edge digging into his soft skin. "John. Christ, I-" He was cut short by an awful fit of coughing. He motioned for John to get him water, his shoulders shaking from the force of it. It took a moment for his breathing to settle back down, and he leaned back with a low groan. "How long... What time is it?"
You: "Sherlock..." John started, but stopped when the other went into a fit of coughing. Seeing the gesture, he got up and went over to the pitcher of lukewarm water, pouring it into a glass, then coming back to hand it to the other. He stood by, still feeling exhausted until it was clear Sherlock was done struggling. "It's uh..." John fished his phone out of his pocket to look at it, but it was dead. "Shit." he breathed out. He pocketed it and looked to the window. "I don't know...midday the next day." he slumped onto the edge of his seat and put his head into his hands.
Stranger: Sherlock drank slowly and carefully, trying to clear the dryness from his throat. It felt good, but it didn't help much. He set the glass aside, and after rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he watched John in silence for a moment. The man had clearly been there all night. "Last night..." Sherlock began carefully, "I wasn't... I wasn't expecting you..."
You: John was quiet for a moment. "...a thank you would be nice." The doctor took in a deep breath, his shoulders tensing up. It was obvious from his body language that he was angry, royally pissed. However...he let the air out in a shaking breath, and his shoulders just drooped a bit. He was too exhausted... "Damn it, Sherlock. What if I hadn't come back." He didn't look up from his position yet. "It wasn't good, Sherlock."
Stranger: Gaze dropping back down to his lap, Sherlock kept pulling against the cuff. He'd already rubbed his wrist red and raw, but he couldn't stop. He swallowed back the anxiety building up in his throat. "I didn't... I did not intend for... It was simply a miscalculation..."
You: "A miscalculation?" John's voice picked up in the middle there, but he stifled it. Finally he looking up. His eyes were red, but that could easily be from the lack of sleep. "Sherlock, you could have died!" He stopped for a moment before reaching out to grab Sherlock's hand that he kept moving around. "Stop it, alright. Just stop. It's there for your own good." His eyes traveled off to the side, indicating he had been the one to suggest them to the nurses.
Stranger: Sherlock's cheeks were tinted red with shame, and his eyes moved further away. But he stopped moving his hands. His fingers were limp in John's grasp. "You..." He hesitated, his stomach churning. "... You're going to have them put me away, aren't you?"
You: John didn't say say anything for a moment, but he didn't remove his hand either. "....I don't have the legal right to do anything, really." John finally confirmed. "But there is a program, Sherlock. Rehab. It's not putting you away, it's helping you. You don't listen to me ever and I don't know how else to help you. It can help you, Sherlock."
Stranger: "No." Sherlock tried to pull his hands away, but there was nowhere for them to go. "No, John, I'll stop. Really. No more. I'll stop. Just don't-" His voice was panicked, his wrists straining against the cuffs. "Please."
You: Sherlock's hand slipped out of John's, which he kept lingering there for a moment before tightening it into a fist and setting it on the bedside. ".....do you swear on it?"
Stranger: Sherlock opened his mouth to speak, looked up at him, and closed it again. He bit his lip, shaking his head a little. "Yes," he finally muttered. "I... Yes."
You: John got to his feet, and quite quickly, took a grip of Sherlock's arm, tightening his fingers around the pale skin. He looked up to stare the other straight on. "Swear that you will stop. And you will." He paused, taking in breath. "Because if you don't, if I have to bring you back here after finding you like that again, after you swore to me you will stop...I am never coming back."
Stranger: Sherlock stared back at him, blinking. He managed to tear his eyes away just long enough to glance down at the fingers digging into him, looking right back up to meet John's dark blue gaze. "I... I swear," he finally muttered. "I'm done."
You: John's grip loosened slightly, still staring back at Sherlock. Finally, he nodded, and let go before stepping over to the night stand next to Sherlock's hospital bed. Leaning down he opened the drawer and brought out a key. Turning back, he stepped back over and unlocked Sherlock's wrist from the handcuff. "Don't rub it. I'll get a cloth and some water for it." Still very tired, the doctor walked over to the table to fetch the things. He didn't smile or even show any kind of relief after what Sherlock said...it was more like resignation.
Stranger: Sherlock set his jaw into a hard line, squeezing his eyes shut once, then twice, trying to make the stinging go away. Despite his doctor's orders, Sherlock's hand went right to the broken skin of his wrist, his thumb rubbing gentle circles into the sore spots. "John, I... I'm sorry."
You: Turning back to Sherlock with the wet cloth, John sighed when he saw the other rubbing at his wrist despite what he said. Walking back over, he held out his hand. "Let me see it." He waited for Sherlock to give it willing before he'd start dabbing at it with the wet wash cloth. At Sherlock's apology, John glanced up at him before back to their own hands. "It's always about you, isn't it?"
Stranger: Sherlock winced at the roughness of the cloth, but he didn't try to move his hand from John's grasp this time. "What else do you want me to say?" he grumbled, "I know, I... I fucked up. Alright? I lied to you, and I completely betrayed your trust, and I know I don't deserve to be forgiven, but I am sorry."
You: Seeing the other wince, John tried to be a bit more gentle as he helped clean the others wrist. "Just...forget it. Alright? No you don't deserve to be forgiven, but I'm giving you the chance to just put this all behind us, alright? I won't bring it up again if you stop. And..." John let the cloth drop off a bit, now running his thumb over Sherlock's wrist to help cool the pain. "Just ask me for help, alright? I won't just make you do it on your own. But you need to trust me to help you."
Stranger: Sherlock cautiously turned his hand over, lacing his fingers between John's. "Does that mean I can smoke in the flat?"
You: John watched their hands lace together. At the question, John couldn't help but smile. "I don't know, stopping one addiction by feeding another...?" he paused. "I'll think about it. It's still not good for the lungs. What about a bit of a lease on experiments for starters? I'll even buy a few mini fridges so you can keep more stuff in the kitchen."
Stranger: Sherlock held tightly onto his hand. "I am going to quit," he muttered. "John, I really am going to try to quit. But... Well, it's not going to be easy..."
You: John held onto the others hand as well. "I know." he nodded. "We'll figure something out. I'll talk to some friends who know more about it,and as your doctor, I'll help you." He paused. "As your friend I'll help you."
Stranger: Sherlock nodded, his thumb rubbing up and down the side of John's hand. "Maybe... you could take some time off work... Once I've been discharged."
You: John noticed the gesture, but didn't say or do anything about it. "Yea, sure. I can do that. That'll be easy."
Stranger: Sherlock pulled his hand closer. "And how long until I can leave?" He stared up at John expectantly.
You: John sighed. "I don't know, maybe a day or so." He brought his one free hand up to his eyes to rub at them. "Maybe long enough so that we can both get a good enough sleep."
Stranger: "Right." Sherlock nodded again and looked away, still absently stroking John's hand. "I imagine you're quite tired, after... after... Right."
You: "Yea." John said, taking a slight step back, though not breaking the contact between their hands just head. "So, unless you need something else right now, I think I'm going to sit down and nod off for a bit."
Stranger: Sherlock hesitated, then pulled his hand back. "No... No, you should get some sleep."
You: "Uh." John shook his head, "No offense Sherlock, but I wouldn't rest easy anyway leaving you alone in this room. I can sleep sitting up, I've done it before."
Stranger: Sherlock only shrugged. "Suit yourself. I won't be doing much but sleeping either...."
You: "You should try." John suggested. "It's not like there's anything else to do here, and you hardly sleep much anyway."
Stranger: They think I'm in love. It's much more likely I need a hard reboot. -SH
You: Now wait, Sherlock, a hard reboot is too much, isn't it? JW
Stranger: It doesn't make any sense. -SH
You: Maybe it doesn't, but there must be another way to work through it. JW
Stranger: How? -SH
You: I don't know, but there has to be something other than a hard reboot. JW
You: Maybe I should leave for awhile. Mrs. Hudson can make sure you get the right care, but if this has to do with me and you don't want it, I could give you some space to work through it. JW
Stranger: No. -SH
You: It's worth a try, Sherlock. JW
Stranger: Don't leave me. -SH
You: It wouldn't be permanent, Sherlock. Just, maybe if you didn't have me around, you could find another way.JW
Stranger: John, I am frightened. There is a ghost in the machine that I don't understand. Please don't leave me. -SH
You: I won't. We'll figure this out together, alright? You don't have to be scared, Sherlock. JW
Stranger: Yes. Together. Please. -SH
You: Alright. Where are you now? JW
Stranger: Home. -SH
You: I'll be there soon then. Just try to wind down a little, just like I showed you, ok? JW
Stranger: Yes. I will attempt. This is just another one of those anomalous emotional spikes.
Stranger: -SH
You: Yea. You don't seem to be enjoying those much, do you? JW
Stranger: They worry me. -SH
You: Why? JW
Stranger: My actions become much more difficult to predict. -SH
You: You're reacting spontaneously? JW
Stranger: Yes. -SH
You: That is unusual. How badly have they caught you by surprise? What do you do? JW
Stranger: Remember when I physically prevented you from pursuing the arsonist? -SH
You: Yes, I remember. You were just protecting me though, Sherlock. It's what you do. JW
Stranger: All reasonable projections indicated you would be successful in your pursuit, and yet I stopped you. -SH
You: You just spontaneously wanted to protect me, even when you knew I could have been successful? JW
Stranger: I was confident you could have taken him down, but I grabbed you and prevented you from doing so. -SH
You: It...was just a mistake, Sherlock. Even Androids make them sometimes. You shouldn't overreact to it. JW
Stranger: I have a pattern of similar errors of judgment. I am defective. -SH
You: You are not defective, Sherlock. Don't ever think that. JW
Stranger: Something is happening to me. I'm breaking. -SH
You: No, you're not, I told you, we're going to figure this out. Okay? JW
You: It's you and me, Sherlock, and I'm not going to let anything happen to you. JW
Stranger: Apologies, John. -SH
You: It's alright. I'm almost home, okay? JW
Stranger: Thank you. -SH
You: John gripped the cellphone tightly as he looked up to catch 221B coming into view. He handed over the money to the cab drone and stepped out, heading to the flat quickly. John wasn't an expert with androids, although he was skilled in many maintenance aspects. What Sherlock was going through though he didn't understand completely himself. He would figure it out though, he wouldn't let the android suffer or, worse yet, let Sherlock reboot himself. It could cause certain things to be lost that may never come back, and John didn't want that. "I'm here, Sherlock." John called out, as he entered the flat and started to take off his coat.
Stranger: Sherlock was standing in the middle of the living room looking somewhat lost, as he often did when the facts of a case overwhelmed him or he was profoundly overstimulated. At the sound of John's voice, he let out a soft, fluttery sigh of relief, shoulders slumping. "Good."
You: John paused, catching sight of Sherlock in the middle of the room. This wasn't completely unnatural to find Sherlock standing there, but the sight did worry John. Leaving his coat on the coat hanger, he carefully approached the android. "You're relieved that I'm back home then?"
Stranger: "Yes." Sherlock rubbed at his face. "Please -- help me." He wasn't shaking, but only because that particular human nervous reflex was specifically removed from his programming.
You: "Don't worry, I will." John said, stepping up to the other and putting a hand on his shoulder. "We'll figure it out together alright? How about you sit down and I'll go grab the scanner and I'll take a look for myself."
Stranger: "Fine." Sherlock nodded, absently resting a hand on John's waist as he tried to think properly. "I'll -- yes, John." He turned and sat in his armchair, back straight.
You: John didn't say anything, but he did notice how Sherlock rested a hand on his hip. Once the other had sat down, John turned away and went to go grab his lap top and scanner. "How do you feel right now?"
Stranger: "Anxious," Sherlock reported. His eyes were closed, and he presented his wrist to be scanned. "Fearful. Confused."
You: Setting his laptop down on the nearby table, John brought the scanner over to hold over Sherlock's wrist. "Now...what if you take that away and concentrate on this spontaneous feeling you're having, if you have it right now. What does it feel like?"
Stranger: Sherlock swallowed nothing in particular. "A -- touch. Sensitivity to contact. Desire for it."
You: "A...desire to be touched?" John hesitated for a moment. As the scanner started to formulate its readings, John brought his free hand up to carefully cup Sherlock's wrist in his palm. "How about now?"
Stranger: Sherlock licked his lips and shook his head slightly. "More." There was a pleading note to his voice.
You: John blinked, looking up at Sherlock, rather stunned. "Um, like this?" He glided his hand up over the others arm and trailed it towards Sherlock's shoulder, pressing his arm next to the others.
Stranger: "Better." Sherlock was forgetting to breathe again -- in a few minutes, his internal thermometer would scold him for not letting out enough heat. For the moment, though, he just leaned into John's touch.
You: The scanner beeped when it was done, but John was hardly paying attention to it. Setting it down on the side of the chair, John brought his now free hand up to cup Sherlock's chin. "Sherlock, I need you to concentrate for me. What are you feeling?"
Stranger: "I don't know." Sherlock let out a sigh and licked his lips again. "I don't have a name for it. It's -- not inherent. It's emergent."
You: "You feel like something...needs to come out?" John guessed, at least tried too. He was trying to work out something about this. Could it really be Sherlock, an android, falling for him?
Stranger: "Yes." Sherlock pressed forward slightly, finally opening his eyes to stare at John desperately. "Do you understand it? Do you feel it as well?"
You: John bit as his lip. Yes. Yes he did. He didn't want to do anything to Sherlock, in case Sherlock really didn't want it. He didn't want to terrify the other. "Maybe it's just something in your program, Sherlock. We haven't been together to long, but we've become very close, right?" He moved both his hands to set over Sherlock's shoulder. "You're just adapting to having a friend is all, maybe it'll help in the end once you've gone through it."
Stranger: "Plenty of other androids have close bonds with their owners." Sherlock, very tentatively, put his hands on John's hips, just holding them helplessly. "This isn't a common problem."
You: John stilled himself as Sherlock placed his hands over his hips. He was quiet for a moment, before looking back at Sherlock. "Do you...think it's a problem? Is it something you don't want?"
Stranger: "It scares me that I do not understand it," Sherlock replied softly, just staring up at John and breathing shallowly. "I want to understand myself. I /need/ to understand myself, John, or I am entirely useless. An untrustworthy instrument. What are the results of your scan?
You: John's heart fell; his android, his friend, seemed so lost, and he didn't want the other to suffer over this. At the question, John broke away, taking up the scanner and stepping away. "...you're right, there is an unusual spike in emotional reaction but....everything else checks out just fine. There's nothing wrong with you, Sherlock."
Stranger: Sherlock's hands fell to his sides uselessly. He sat for a long moment, very still, before abruptly standing and wrapping John into a hug.
You: John turned back to look at Sherlock, but at the sight of the android, he didn't know what to say. It hurt to see the other so lost and worried. He didn't want Sherlock to feel those things, but at the same time he didn't want to stop the feelings that were causing him this stress. John's eyes widened though as the other got up and hugged him. "Sherlock?"
Stranger: "Sorry." Sherlock buried his face in the curve of John's neck. "Sorry. I'm being -- disruptive." He clung to his human and did not shake.
You: John paused for a moment, then brought his arms up to hug the other back as well. "No, Sherlock, don't be sorry. It's...natural really." He paused. "Maybe we can figure out a way to just live with it now, if it doesn't go away?"
Stranger: "You're opposed to the hard reboot," Sherlock noted softly, seeming to almost melt into John's arms. "Why?"
You: At the question, John tightened his hug a bit. "You might...lose some bits of yourself, Sherlock. I don't want to risk it." he finally admitted. "You're my friend. And you shouldn't feel like you have to reboot yourself over something like this."
Stranger: "Something like what?" Sherlock's own hold tightened. "What is this?"
You: "Just...just feeling more emotionally attached to me then you would usually." John tried explaining. "Its alright to be a little...spontaneous when it comes to others that you care about."
Stranger: "Oh, thank goodness," Sherlock breathed, and kissed him.
You: John blinked, taken aback by the kiss. "...oh."
Stranger: Sherlock broke it off abruptly, eyes widening. "I --" Rather than explaining, though, he fled into his room abruptly.
You: "Wait, Sherlock!" John came after the other, setting the scanner on the table and coming up to knock on the door. "Sherlock, it's alright! What you did was...was natural!"
Stranger: "I'm rebooting!" Sherlock called back furiously, beeping softly as he went through the required motions. "That was wrong!"
You: "NO! Sherlock, don't!" He tried turning the door handle to see if the other had locked it.
Stranger: He hadn't. When John burst in he was sitting on the unused bed, frenzied, going through the motions with furious need.
You: John ran in, seeing the other starting to motions. In a panic, John held out. "CONTROL OVERRIDE! ANDROID SHERLOCK HOLMES! PASSWORD BASKERVILLE! CEASE AND DESIST ALL MOVEMENT!"
Stranger: Sherlock froze halfway through going to plug himself in. He didn't breathe; his eyes didn't so much as twitch. As ordered, he did not move.
You: John stood there for a moment, panting. Oh god, he hated using the override. He really did, but he didn't know what else to do. Gulping, John stood straight. "Reverse back from reboot position and come stand in front of me." he continued.
Stranger: Sherlock slid out of the position like a well-oiled machine, which, of course, he was. Standing, he crossed the floor to maintain position in front of John, gazing straight ahead with absolutely no expression on his face.
You: John slumped, now feeling a little more relaxed now that Sherlock was no longer in reboot position, but he felt even worse for having to force Sherlock out of it. "Sherlock...please, I don't want you to reboot yourself." John begged, leaning forward and pressing his forehead to the others stiff chest. "I know you're confused...but I like you the way you are." He paused. "I...love you, the way you are." John took a step back. "i don't want to see you hurt though...so, whatever you feel like you have to do..."John sighed. "Do it...End Override, password violin string."
Stranger: For a moment, it seemed the override had continued, and Sherlock was still standing where instructed; but then, slowly, his face relaxed, his posture slumping into something more casual though no less stiff. He hesitated a long while before speaking. "You said you wouldn't do that again."
You: John got a pained look on his face. "I know...I know I did, but I panicked. You were going to reboot yourself, Sherlock, I couldn't think of anything else to do!"
Stranger: Sherlock rubbed at his face, almost gingerly. "But, just now... you indicated I should do 'whatever I feel like I have to'."
You: "Yea, I know...you should feel free to make your own decision. I know I stopped you, and I'm sorry...I just wanted you to know the rest of that first, before you did make your decision." John brought one hand to rub at his other arm, feeling ashamed for having used the override on his friend.
Stranger: Sherlock pressed his hands together, placing the tips of his index fingers against his lips. "You wanted me to know that you love me."
You: John looked up at the other, nodding. "And I do. Just the way you are."
Stranger: "Is that what this is?" Sherlock's brows were drawn anxiously together. "Love? Do I love you?"
You: John was silent for a moment. "....I think it is, Sherlock."
Stranger: "Oh." Sherlock sat down on the edge of the bed. "I... see."
You: John hesitated for a moment, before taking a step towards Sherlock. "Is that...alright though?"
Stranger: "It's..." Sherlock trailed off, expression distracted. "Yes, I -- I might understand."
You: "You might?" John asked, sounding a bit hopeful.
Stranger: Sherlock nodded a few times. "I need to research it, obviously."
You: John sighed, "Obviously." At least it sounded like Sherlock was no longer going to reboot himself.
Stranger: "I'm sorry," Sherlock added after a moment. "You had made your position clear, but I tried to go against it without properly discussing the situation."
You: "It's...alright, Sherlock. We both made mistakes." he shrugged. "It happens."
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like cabinlock, werejohn, winglock, fawnlock, greaserlock, and kidlock.
Stranger: ((Nightmare Before Christmas AU, all in the name of Halloween. Sherlock as Jack, John as Sally))
John had attended the town meeting, of course. He'd heard Sherlock excitably tell the townsfolk about this Christmas Town, this Sandy Claws character, and, despite Sherlock's eagerness and enthusiasm, John didn't like it one bit. It was different, unfamiliar and strange – it wasn't /scary/, and that just made it plain wrong for their people. So he'd escaped (again) after Sherlock Bones came by the Doctor's lab seeking equipment for some 'experiments'. It was not surprising, really, that he needed it; the madman loved experiments, after all, and his curiosity was endless. But in this case.... well.
John needed to talk to the Pumpkin King about this nonsense. Immediately.
John lifted one pale, stitched hand to Sherlock's door and knocked, calling out, “Sherlock? Sherlock, it's John, let me in!” He shifted from one foot to the other, holding his crutch tightly in one hand (the doctor had given him a new set of legs and he was still adjusting). “Sherlock! Let me in!” He pounded on the door again.
You: Sherlock lifted his pale face marginally from where he had been peering into a microscope. The basic breakdown of the bits of Christmas ornament he had stuck under the lenses was interesting, but it still didn't make any sense. The feeling he had momentarily when he first saw Christmas town had all but gone, and he knew that if he could just find the hidden meaning of Christmas, he could acquire the feeling for always. It was a spark, deep in an area inside of him that had felt cold and empty for far to long. Tilting his head, Sherlock heard someone cry out for him again, and he quickly got up to his feet. What now? Did he not let on to the entire town that he was busy? Coming down to the front door, Sherlock Bones opened the door only to stop in mild surprise at the sight of John. "John, what is it." Before he even received an answer, an idea sprung up in the Pumpkin King's head and he tried to jostle the other inside. "Wait, I may actually need your help. Come along, John. You gave me a few ideas."
You: ((This is so ironic I just watched the movie again today))
Stranger: ((That's funny, hah. I'm rewatching it right now.))
The door opened before he was expecting it, somehow, and so when it finally did it caused him to jump, then scowl in annoyance at his friend. Before he could even begin to give him a piece of his mind, however, the Pumpkin King was ushering him inside. John sputtered incredulously, leaning heavily on his crutch and wobbling dangerously as he was pointed towards a high, spiraling staircase. "Sherlock - we need to talk about this.... this Christmas thing." Whatever the man had planned for him wasn't about to happen. John had an intense feeling of dread, and he was determined to make his friend see reason.
You: Sherlock glanced to the spiraling stairs ahead of the them and took a quick glance to John's cane. The other was hardly quick moving half the time, but with his new legs, even slower. "Of course, John, but first, we need to be present with my research, right?" he quickly brought the other over to the spiraling stairs, and before John could complain, he took the other up and sat him down on the long winding hand rail. John was quite light with being stuffed, and Sherlock was stronger than he looked for being so lean. He then got up and sat beside John, gave the railing a knock, and it suddenly started moving them up the entire twisted way, giving a distinct slithering noise.
Stranger: John let out another squawk of protest - he was not a /child/, thank you, and he didn't take kindly to being carried about like this - but when he found that his protests were futile, he let it go with a loud, annoyed sigh. "Sherlock, it's your research that we have to talk about. All of it, actually." He squirmed on the railing, wobbled, nearly toppled off, and gripped it tighter. "I don't - it's a bad idea. All of it is, Sherlock. It's not /natural/ for us." What would it take to get the man to see that?
You: The two finally came to a stop at the top of the railing, and Sherlock was the first to jump off. Before helping John down however, he paused, tilting his head at the other in slight questioning manner. "Of course it's not natural, John. It's different. Perhaps different is what we need." he extended his hand out for the other to take to help him off. "You didn't see it, John. Christmas town. It was....all kinds of exciting. It may be what Halloween town needs!"
Stranger: John let out a long-suffering sigh, holding out his hands and letting Sherlock place him on the ground. "Sherlock, /you/ don't get it. I just - I've got a bad feeling about it, is all." He slowly followed Sherlock into his lab, rubbing his arm anxiously as he looked around at the various specimens Sherlock was keeping. Ornaments, sweets, stuffed bears, toys - it was all so strange. "I'm not saying it's not... not interesting. But it's not right for us. I'm worried about what will happen to you if you decide to do anything... drastic."
You: "There's nothing to worry about, John." Sherlock said, indicating the things that surrounded them. "None of this is hardly harmful, it doesn't even break the boundary of spooky. And I've tested it all myself before hand, and I'm perfectly fine." Coming over to a barren tree decorated in bright ornaments and lights, he plucked off a candy cane and handed it over to John. "Try this. It's candy, but different from Halloween candy. Taste it tell me what you think."
Stranger: John stared at the strange looking cane warily, giving Sherlock a doubtful look. Slowly, so slowly, he reached out and plucked it from his bony fingers. After taking a quick sniff - it tasted like candy, at least - he peeled off the plastic wrappings and took a cautious lick. His nose scrunched up at the unfamiliar taste, but he stuck with it. And, once he'd grown used to the taste, he decided that it... well, it wasn't too bad, was it? "It tastes like.... cold. Like the chill of a nearby ghost, or the wind biting at your neck in the graveyard here in town." He looked up at Sherlock, his frown deepening. "But it's.... sweet, too? What is this?" He took a few slow steps towards the tree, staring at the ornaments with curiosity. It was rather beautiful, he decided, even if it was no good.
You: "It's a candy cane. And it's suppose to taste sweet and cold." Sherlock said, turning to look more at the tree as he explained. "It has nothing to do with ghosts or graveyards, John. Christmas Town is actually covered in cold snow, which is like crunchy, edible ice, although it doesn't taste like a candy cane. And you can mold it into different forms and throw it. And the townsfolk actually bring full green trees into their homes and decorate them like this." Sherlock then quickly moved away, indicating a few other things. "They leave presents under the tree to unwrap on Christmas day, and they put more sweets in socks over the mantle piece, and they actually hang these strange plants on random places of the wall." Sherlock explained, coming to stand under one of the few mistletoes he had.
Stranger: John watched Sherlock zip around the room, his brows furrowing as he tried to take in what the man was telling him. It sounded so strange, but... interesting. It was certainly different than what he was used to; crunchy, edible ice on the ground? Trees that were alive? And inside of houses - of their own free will? Sweets in socks, presents - John shook his head, scratching at his neck. He absently gnawed on the candy cane as he replied, "I don't know. I just... it seems..." He let out a frustrated sigh, then stepped towards his friend. He grabbed for one of his hands and tugged, bringing him closer to his level. "I just don't want you to get carried away. Because you /can/ get carried away, Sherlock."
You: Sherlock came to a full stop as John reached out for him, turning his gaze to look straight at the other. For a moment he seemed to settle and nodded, "I know, John. You're right....but I promise I won't let this time be any similar." Sherlock came to a stop though, glancing up at the plant above them and looking back down to the other. "Uh, John. In Christmas town, when two people walk under this plant, which they call a mistletoe, the two people are suppose to kiss."
Stranger: John blinked at him. He stared up at the mistletoe, and if he could blush, he'd be bright red by now - but all his ashy, green-tinted skin could do was darken slightly. He cleared his throat, looking away, and asked, "What - why is that? That's a silly thing to do." He glanced back up at the Pumpkin King, biting his lip. "Can you explain it?" Sherlock seemed to know everything about this Christmas Town, after all. He would know.
You: Sherlock
You: (bleh sorry)
You: Sherlock's face twisted a bit in concentration. "I'm not sure. I don't know if the plant itself demands it, or..." he contemplated this. "I suppose the couples who ended up kissing under it did so willingly and in their own obligation. No one seemed to openly avoid it and it didn't seem to pull anyone in. There were just instances that two would end up under it and willing kiss. They smiled afterwards, so it must have been a very well liked tradition." Sherlock gave a glance down at the other. "I haven't actually tried it yet, myself."
Stranger: John hummed curiously, looking up at the plant with a small frown. "Hm. Well - do you think it's a curse?" He squirmed, worry clouding his expression. "I only just got rid of a curse a few weeks ago. I don't want another one." And kissing Sherlock wouldn't be horrible at all, would it? No, no, John had to admit that kissing Sherlock would be quite nice, really. "Maybe... we should do it. Just in case?"
You: "I suppose for curiosity sake we could test to see what happens if we don't meet the demands of the Mistletoe tradition." Sherlock bemused, looking back to the plant. "However, I don't even have anything on what happens when you do meet it's demands either." Looking back to John, he stared at the other for a moment. "It would be better to make sure, since I have no clue yet on how to break any Christmas curses." Sherlock hesitated for a moment, thinking back at what he saw back in Christmas town. Remembering one pair of elves, Sherlock leaned forward and cupped just under one of John's cheeks, gently angling his head up. Going down, Sherlock pressed his barely there lips to John's stitched ones....and instead of feeling cold and clammy, he actually felt....warm.
Stranger: John could agree with Sherlock there. He wasn't fond of being cursed, and he definitely didn't want to be cursed with something that no one knew how to break. But the kiss began so soon, and John could do little more than react at first. Sherlock's lips were hard, rough, and - well - bony. But it sent a rush of pleasure through the rag doll's insides, and his eyes slipped shut with it's warmth. He leaned up into the kiss, pressing onto the tips of his toes. Oh, how lovely this felt. It was like the glowing warmth of a jack-o-lantern, the crackling burn of a bonfire.... It was different, nothing like he'd ever experienced, and John wanted more. Perhaps this Christmas thing wasn't all bad. This, obviously, was a rather nice part of the strange town.
You: Sherlock lost himself for a moment, unsure of when to break the kiss and not entirely certain he wanted to anyways. It was strange and new, just like the town he found and then...the glow in that strange area came back again. Stricken like he had been shocked for the first time, Sherlock broke the kiss. Reaching up, he snagged the plant from off the ceiling beam and headed over to his work bench without a word. The warmth was fading again but it was there!
Stranger: John was startled and disappointed when the kiss ended. He reached uselessly for Sherlock as he walked away - to his workbench. Of course. John let out a disappointed sigh, his hand dropping to his side, and moved back over to the tree. He gazed up at the curious ornaments and pretty baubles that adorned the thin, rough branches, reaching up and lightly tapping one of them. It really was beautiful. "Sherlock?" He asked then. "Sherlock, what do they call these - trees?"
You: Sherlock hunched over his workbench, peeling bits of the plant off to examine in different reactants. It took a few minutes for him to even react to others question. "Hm?" he didn't glance back. "Those are usually called Christmas Trees. Pine trees, evergreens, tannenbaum...They're usually much greener than that but I couldn't find one around here. The elves decorate it with ornaments and lights and tinsel and even edible stuff like the candy canes and popcorn."
Stranger: John frowned, mouthing the words 'Christmas Tree' to himself, then shook his head. "These Christmas people are off their rocker, Sherlock. I donno." He sighed, moving over to the only other free seat - the electric chair, what a lovely piece of furniture. He perched in it and sighed, rubbing at the raw stitching on his legs. God, he was sore. The doctor would have a fit if he knew how much John had been walking around on them.
You: ((OH man, I really want to continue this but I have to go to bed..)
Stranger: ((Aw, no! Want to continue through email? Or maybe you have a tumblr, and we can meet up here sometime soon?))
You: ((Email works better for me actually! Mine is [email protected]))
Stranger: ((Great! Mine is [email protected]. I'll email you the long and you can reply whenever you get the chance!))
You: ((Sweet! Thank you! This is so cute! ^^ I'll reply once I can! Thanks for the rp!!))
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like werejohn, and smaugbo.
Stranger: "Run!" Bilbo screamed, his feet running far too slowly for his liking. He padded through the familiar paths to Smaug's cave, yelling as he went. "Smaug!" he yelled, crying loudly when he tripped over a small mound of gold and fell into a larger one. "Smaug!" he cried, grunting, pushing himself up. It was then that he noticed that his clothes were tattered and ripped from battle with Thorin. "Smaug! They're coming! You have to run."
You: When Bilbo came around a bend of gold, two strong hands came out to stop and steady the small hobbit. "Bilbo, hush. Who's coming." Before he received his answer, the dragon, in his much more human-like form, saw the state that the other was in. His eyes narrowed and smoke curled out from his nostrils. "Who did this to you?" he demanded, brushing a hand over Bilbo's tattered clothes.
Stranger: Bilbo yelped when he felt two hands catch him, and he wrestled with them until he heard the owner's voice. He looked up at Smaug and immediately wrapped his arms around his waist, burrowing his face into the middle of his abdomen. "Thorin and the dwarves," he huffed, looking up at his dragon. "You have to run. They won't kill me. But you have to run." He tried to push Smaug away, wanting him to change and fly away as soon as possible. "They've brought the elves and humans. They're waiting for you outside. You can't let them get you," he said in a hurried breath.
You: Smaug refused to budge as the hobbit tried to push him away. His anger grew, sending a fiery glance towards where he knew they would be gathering, waiting to kill him. "I am chief of calamities, halfling. There is nothing that any dwarf, elf or human can do that can deter me." He stooped down so that he was almost face to face with the other, poking his hand over the others clothes. "Look what they've done to you, Bilbo. How could I ever leave you to hands as foul as this? They deserve to be punished."
Stranger: Bilbo shook his head and gripped Smaug's hands, squeezing them. He could hear Thorin's cries echoing through the caverns and passageways leading to Smaug's cave, and he looked up urgently at the dragon. "Please don't," he pleaded, pulling on his hands to drag him away. "Don't hurt them. They just want their home back, which /you/ took away from them!" he admonished, tugging at the dragon's large hands. "Smaug, come on. They wouldn't hesitate to hurt you, but they won't hurt me. I can hold them off." He pulled the hands up to his lips, and he pressed two light kisses on the back of his hands. "Find me. Please."
You: The dragon's eyes widened. Don't hurt them? Bilbo didn't want him to hurt these intruders; but invasion was one thing, laying hands on what was now his was another. "I cannot just leave you." Smaug stated. He looked up as the cries of the intruder grew louder, and he growled with an intense need to rip through flesh. Bilbo didn't wish for this though. And although Smaug had refused the wishes of kings and peasants alike for decades, he could not deny this one hobbit. He turned up his hands to grasp the others, looking straight at him. "You are a brave and resourceful hobbit. I will find you again, just do not do anything foolish." The dragon straightened up, but not before leaving a kiss on top of the others head. "Be strong, Bilbo Baggins." and with that Smaug slipped away, quickly leaving out of sight.
Stranger: Bilbo smiled when Smaug kissed him on the top of his head, and he nodded, fighting off the tears that threatened to spill. He had barely escaped Thorin, barely escaped his rage that Balin had tried to quell. Swallowing thickly, he turned when he heard the familiar pitter-patter of Thorin's boots meeting stone. He looked warily at him, his stature hunched in defeat, his torn clothes hanging on him. "He's gone now," he answered, barely audible to the dwarve-king's ears. The hobbit watched as Thorin neared, but his feet remained rooted to the ground. "The treasure is --" Before he could finish his sentence, three things happened simultaneously. He saw Balin charging forward, his hand held out, his eyes wide in shock. Thorin had drawn his sword. And there was a sickening pain in his stomach as he stared at the sword disappear into his body, tearing through his back. Whimpering, Bilbo buckled to the ground as the blade was withdrawn, and his arms wrapped around his wound.
You: Smaug had been on his way, feeling the heat of his coming transformation coming on. Horns began to grow and his eyes glowed, as well as the precursor to a tail under his robes. That was when the stench of blood and the sound a small whimper stopped him in his path. Quick as light, the dragon made his way back to where he had left the hobbit, only to stagger at the sight he was met with. "Bilbo!" He moved quickly to gather the hobbit in his arms, moving back away from the dwarf with the blood stained sword. "He said you would not hurt him!" the dragon yelled, eyes glowing and a serpentine tongue poking out from his mouth. His tail slid out to wrap itself around the hobbit, as a few bulges in his back grew out.
Stranger: Bilbo gasped when he saw blood coming form him. And then the pain - the real, burning pain ripped a loud cry from his throat, and he was suddenly pulled upward into a familiar warmth. "S-Smaug," he whimpered, pressing a bloodied hand on his chest. "D-don't hurt them. They're-- they're my friends," Bilbo swallowed thickly, looking over at Thorin, who gripped his blade anew. Balin held an arm across the king's chest, holding him back, almost in fear. "You were going to kill /Bilbo/," Balin hissed, glaring at Thorin. "He's not Bilbo. He's been corrupted by that dragon!" Thorin snapped, his voice low and dangerous. With a loud cry, the dwarf charged at Smaug with his blade, aiming for his heart.
Stranger: (Did you send something?)
You: Smaug held the hobbit close, honestly confused when he still insisted that he not harm the dwarfs. Obviously they were no longer friend's with Bilbo, why could the hobbit not see it? As the dwarf came upon them, Smaug crouched and leaped out of the others path. There was the sound of tearing clothes as his wings pushed out, and with a strong flap,he came to perch on top of a pile of gold. Laying the small hobbit down carefully, he gave a quick caress of his cheek before leaping back down the face the mad dwarf head on. "You." He pointed a claw at Balin, as his clothes started to tear in places to reveal scaled ridges. "Patch his wounds." Facing against Thorin, he readied himself. "If that hobbit dies, you will all pay the ultimate price."
Stranger: Bilbo frowned when Smaug put him down on a mound of gold, reaching up to touch the end of his tail as he left. Balin glared warily at the dragon before climbing up the mound to Bilbo, taking out his scarf to fashion a makeshift bandage for Bilbo. "Thorin, don't be a fool. You can't take on a dragon," he hissed, looking back at the changing dragon and dwarf. Thorin swung his blade about his hand and looked up defiantly at Smaug, sneering. "He looks weak, does he not? Fails to live up to all those tales we have been told," he bit out, charging once again with his blade, jumping forward, aiming for his heart.
You: ((brb!!!))
Stranger: (mmk)
You: ((sorry I forgot to submit an assignment))
Stranger: (It's fine.)
You: ((okay, done, whew))
You: Smaug could not help but grin at the dwarf's insolence, a few tendrils of smoke coming up from his jaw. As he dwarf charged, the dragon stood ready, before stepping aside and using his mighty wing thwack the dwarf from behind and causing him to fall. "I would most assuredly show you my true strength, gold-sick dwarf. The wishes of my hobbit are all that will keep me from tearing your flesh from your bone." With another guttural growl, the dragon man grew a bit bigger in size, his scales gleaming and his human features nearly gone under much more reptilian ones. "I will kill you, excruciatingly, if Bilbo Baggins dies. This I swear."
Stranger: (gah brb. sorry. dinner)
You: (sok)
Stranger: Thorin groaned when he was sent into a mound of gold, grunting when the coins dug into his back. Dazed, he pushed himself up slowly, using his sword to stand on his feet. He brushed off the gold from his large coat and narrowed his eyes on the changing dragon. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the banner signal from Nori, and he turned back to Balin. "Now!" With his signal, a wave of arrows flew out of every crevice and hole from Smaug's cave, aimed toward the dragon as Balin and Thorin ducked away for safety. Bilbo's eyes widened as he watched the arrows cascade through the air toward his beloved, and he turned to his dragon. "NO!" he screamed, an arm reaching out futilely toward him.
You: The dragon couldn't help but chuckle at the would be king dwarf, taking a step forward, intent on keeping the other on his knees until Bilbo was safe to leave. His eyes widened though as the dwarf shouted, and he glanced up to see the mistake he had made. He looked to Bilbo, seeing the other cried out to him, but could do nothing as he was assailed by arrows, having just as much forethought to keep his neck, head and front safe. After the attack, the dragon stumbled with a slew of dozen arrows embedded on each side. He stumbled into a nearby gold stash and writhed, gold cascading the bury him. Out of sight, there was the sounds of gold shifting from beneath and a growl that grew louder and heavier as an increasing larger mound of gold started to shift before Smaug, in his full dragon form, emerged.
Stranger: "No. Smaug," Bilbo breathed, pushing himself on all fours to see where his dragon had disappeared to after the slew of arrows. "Smaug!" he cried, tumbling forward and sliding down the large mound into the floor. He grunted and scrambled to where he saw the dragon last, panicking, his eyes wide in fear. "SMAUG!" he yelled, his throat hoarse, tears beading out of his eyes. But Bilbo stilled when there was a shuffling of gold coins and out emerged Smaug the Stupendous in all his dragon glory, and the hobbit fell to his knees to relief, looking up at the majestic beast. "Oh, Smaug," he whispered, smiling weakly. "AIM FOR HIS HEART!" Thorin commanded from the shadows as arrow after arrow shot through the air, aiming for Smaug's eye and heart. "DON'T LET HIM OUT OF YOUR SIGHT!"
You: The dragon roared turning and causing quite a few mounds of gold to collapse. He swung his tail out to send treasure crashing against the walls of where some of the archers hid themselves, before ducking his head down once more. A growl emitted from within, eyes sharpening on point near the entrance of the wide cavern. Opening his jaw he spat a fire ball to explode near the entrance, before closing his snout and breathing in. The heat in the air rose as the dragon spurred up what would surely be mounds of hot flame that he could set nearly the entire area a blaze with.
Stranger: Bilbo clutched the middle of his body, staring as Smaug sent gold coins flying every which way. He grunted when the coins splashed onto his face, and he moved blindly about, trying to get away from the chaos. The heat from the fire made him whimper and, before he could react, he felt the whip of Smaug's tail, sending him crashing into the ground with a graceless thud. Thorin and Balin ducked for cover behind large rocks, escaping the fire, and the king dwarf motioned for the humans to move into the cave to get a better vantage point of Smaug's heart. The Laketown men scrambled into positions, their swords held at the ready as they hid behind mounds of gold, waiting for the signal.
You: ((oh man I really want to continue this but I need sleep. Email perhaps?))
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like femlock.
Stranger: I have to leave. I'll make sure you have enough money to pay for the flat -SH (F)
You: No, please, Sherlock. There's no reason for you to feel you have to leave. JW
Stranger: There is. And trust me, you wouldn't believe the reason -SH
Stranger: It is quite literally a matter of duty. You're a soldier, you'd understand that -SH
You: Could you at least tell it then? JW
Stranger: Honestly? You'd think I was high -SH
You: It would be better not knowing. JW
Stranger: Exactly. It will be strange though. I enjoyed London -SH
You: You enjoyed London? That's why you're leaving? JW
Stranger: No, of course not. I'm leaving because I have to -SH
You: But why do you have too? JW
Stranger: Because I was born into a job and I have no other choice now -SH
You: And...what job is that? JW
Stranger: Like I said. You wouldn't believe it -SH
You: Try me. JW
Stranger: Alright. There are alternate universes, places with different countries, worlds. I'm from one of them. Believing now? -SH
You: Uh...well, you haven't gotten to the point where this concerns you leaving. JW
Stranger: Fine then, I'll continue. I left at eighteen, because I didn't want the job I had to take. However, due to recent circumstances, I now have no other choice in the matter -SH
You: And, what is that job? JW
Stranger: For gods sake, isn't it a little obvious? Born into it, and because of blood, I can't deny it now -SH
Stranger: I have to go back and rule a bloody /country/ -SH
You: You mean...you're a princess from another universe? JW
Stranger: Told you that you wouldn't believe me. Make up some story for Lestrade, I can't just disappear off the face of the earth -SH
You: No, you can't, you just...alright, if I did believe this, wouldn't it mean I'll never see you again? JW
Stranger: Probably. Or very occasionally -SH
You: There's no way you're going to hop universes just to see me, especially if you're ruling a country. JW
Stranger: Nothing stopping you from coming here. It's tiring though -SH
You: I...don't see how I could. JW
Stranger: Suit yourself. I'm almost done with gathering my belongings, it was nice knowing you -SH
You: Well, wait, how do you do it? JW
Stranger: I have my methods -SH
Stranger: Well, supplies. A sort of knife. Tears holes in dimensions -SH
You: There's no way. JW
Stranger: I'm here, aren't I? -SH
Stranger: Obviously there is a way -SH
You: Apparently, but it's hard to believe. JW
Stranger: That's what I was telling you before. I'd have to leave soon, how long will you be out? -SH
Stranger: (Did you get that?)
You: (yea hold on)
Stranger: (Okay, just checking my internet hadn't spazzed :P)
You: Uh, I should be back soon. JW
Stranger: Right. Because I'd prefer to say goodbyes in person -SH
You: Yea. Me too. JW
Stranger: Also, I'd appreciate it if you kept the real reason to yourself. You'd sound like a madman anyway -SH
You: Yea, I wasn't planning on sharing it. JW
Stranger: Good. Keep it that way -SH
Stranger: Almost home? -SH
You: Yea, just about, since I don't need to pick up dinner. JW
Stranger: You're taking my advice and not eating unnecessarily? -SH
You: Well, yea. If I don't feel hungry, I don't bother. JW
Stranger: And yet you still command me to eat -SH
You: Well, you hardly ever eat. There's a difference. JW
Stranger: The difference is that I get hungry less than you do. A resistance, if you will -SH
You: Does that have something to do with you being from an alternative world? JW
Stranger: Nothing whatsoever. There's no difference in humans -SH
You: So you're still human but from a different world. JW
Stranger: Basically. It's about as different as a foreign country is to here -SH
You: It still sounds interesting. JW
Stranger: Not particularly. Although I did grow up there, so it's a mere opinion -SH
You: Well, how is it different? I'm home by the way. JW
John stepped out of the taxi after paying the man, and headed into the flat. The idea of seeing Sherlock and thinking it was going to be the last time he saw her, at least as his flatmate, gave him a feeling he didn't want to sit down with. He didn't even take notice when he took to the stairs slower than usual.
Stranger: Sherlock was busy packing things into a small suitcase as John walked up the stairs. She had adopted the regal manner that she had been taught as a child, more trying to remember what she had deleted than anything else. Back straight and eyes down instead of lowering her head, she continued throwing a few case notes into the luggage. "You took your time with the stairs." She remarked, not looking up when John walked in.
You: John paused when the other spoke up, after having reached the flat. "Uh...really? Sorry." he said, shifting where he stood. Looking to Sherlock, he noticed that there was something...different. Very different. "So....what is it like, over there?"
Stranger: "Don't apologise." She replied, zipping up the bag and standing up, pulling up the handle and looking around the flat. "Dull. It's barely changed in about a century, stonework everywhere, family crests." She rolled her eyes. "Pointless."
You: "Well, it's not like I really know what it looks like to begin with." John replied. He looked down at the bag then back up to her. "A century?"
Stranger: "Appearance, not technology." She answered, pulling her hair out of the loose ponytail she had it in. "Relatively old fashioned. And when I say relatively, I mean I'd be perhaps the second or third queen without a king."
You: "Well....it's happen here before." John said, referring to London's own history.
You: (brb)
Stranger: (Okay)
Sherlock smirked, rolling her eyes. "Yes, I know. Do you think I'd come here completely clueless?" She steeped her fingers underneath her chin, pacing back and forth, looking much more regal as she did, still training herself to return.
You: John watched the other pace back and forth for a moment, still noticing the differences. "So....was this the only place you came to to get away? Why did you want to leave in the first place?"
Stranger: "It was the closest." Sherlock replied, still pacing, stopping to answer the second question. "Because I never wanted to be a queen." She answered simply. "Would you want your future to be defined from birth? I was discouraged from certain subjects because I wouldn't need to know them."
You: "I can imagine that would be hard....but, why do you need to go back now?"
Stranger: Sherlock gave a small bitter laugh at the inquiry. "Because there's a war. In a war, the royal family fight too, and they fall like everyone else."
You: John's eyes widened, "A war? That you're going to fight in?"
Stranger: Sherlock nodded. "Should I survive, I get crowned. If not, no more monarchy."
You: "You...didn't mention this before." John said, standing straight now. "Has this happened before?"
Stranger: She nodded again. "Of course it has. I had a brother. I left after he died."
You: "That soon?" John paused. "Do you have to go back?"
Stranger: Sherlock raised an eyebrow. "Do I have to go back? Of course I do."
You: John rubbed at his face with one hand. "Yea, I know..." he glanced away. "It's just...is there anyway I can help? I was a soldier."
Stranger: Sherlock shook her head, traces of a sad smile on her face. "I can't force you to go back into a war zone. You had post traumatic stress disorder, it's a terrible idea to get you near a war."
You: "The only time I could control my ptsd was when I felt I was on a battlefield." John counteracted, but he backed off. "I'm probably not the best choice in a soldier now anyway, but, I don't want you to get killed, Sherlock."
Stranger: Sherlock shrugged. "I'll be fine. And it won't matter here whether I die there or not." She flipped the suitcase up, pulling up the handle. She thought for a second, screwing up her nose. "I shouldn't have formed a sentimental bond to this place."
You: John tightened his hand into a fist. "Well, you did. And you're wrong, Sherlock, it matters a lot." He sighed out. "I want to come with you."
Stranger: Sherlock raised an eyebrow, smirking as she shook her head. "No you don't."
You: "Yes, I do." John insisted. "I'm useless here. Maybe I can come and help protect you."
You: "Like I do now?"
Stranger: "You're not useless. And protecting on a much larger scale. Besides, why join a war that you don't need to be involved in?"
You: "Well, because apparently my best friend is having to fight it as well?" he said, raising an eyebrow at her.
Stranger: "I'm flattered you say best friend. But it's not your war." She answered, crossing her arms.
You: John shrugged, "Afghanistan was barely my war to begin with. Besides, I've fought for Queen and country, but I've never fought for a Queen I've actually personally knew."
Stranger: "Princess, princess until actual crowning. Queen still sounds horrific." She corrected. "You fought in that for a military. You had no choice in where you went."
You: "Well, now I am making a choice." He looked up at her, crossing his arms. "Will you take me or not, your majesty?"
Stranger: Sherlock sighed. "Are you going to take no for an answer?"
You: "Only if you really think I'd be useless fighting for you and just get in your way."
Stranger: "You know I wouldn't think that, moron."
You: "Then I won't take no for an answer."
Stranger: Sherlock held his gaze for a second before nodding. "Fine." She said simply, pulling the knife from the stack of letters on the mantlepiece. "You have your gun?"
You: John was quick to one of the drawers and retrieved his gun, loading in one of the clips. "I try not to leave it far behind."
Stranger: Sherlock shrugged, looking around the flat before twisting the knife in her hand so she had a better grip, cutting a line down the wall carefully.
You: John stepped around to draw in closer, watching as Sherlock worked. He kept his gun to the side and breathed out, calmly.
Stranger: Sherlock braced herself, stowing the knife in a separate pocket on the luggage before pulling it through a widening gap in the wall. The noise was instant, and Sherlock almost fell back at the sound of the yelling. Of course she'd land in the room she left in. "They never changed my bedroom." She commented, trying to make light of the situation.
You: John couldn't help but take a step back from the noise. He looked to Sherlock with wide eyes. "Was it that noisy before?" He still couldn't believe that there was a hole to another world in their living room.
Stranger: Sherlock shook her head. "That's an invasion." She replied, dashing to a large bed on the other side of the room. She knelt next to it, pulling out a set of daggers. "They never looked? Shame." She remarked, taking a deep breath. "Ready?"
You: (It's so late! I'm sorry, I gtg. Any way you want to continue this later?))
Stranger: (I don't have a way to continue it sorry! Sleep well :) )

“Goodbye John.”
“SHERLOCK!”
The Hobbit gasped, jolting upright and gulping down lungfuls of air. None of the Dwarfs around him stirred, each exhausted from the long journey. Bilbo buried his face in his trembling hands, wiping away the sweat and trying to calm himself once more.
He could barely remember the dream now. It had faded into a jumbled mess of voices, sensations and emotions. But he knew it wasn’t the first time he’d had it.
Back in Hobbiton, it had been a rare thing, only surfacing on the few occasions he’d been feeling melancholy or stressed. He supposed it was only natural that the dreams would increase in volume and scope as his adventure progressed. Now, camping on the side of Lonely mountain, waiting for the precise circumstances that would allow them to enter the dragons hall, they seemed to be coming every night.
He sighed and tried to push those thoughts from his mind. He could very well be eaten by a Dragon tomorrow. Why dwell on something as frivolous as half remembered dreams?
You: The dragon deep inside shifted within the mounds of gold. He had been sleeping, for how long he could not place it. Recently however he had started to stir, waking up on occasion then falling back asleep. His sleep was becoming restless though, and he could not quite place why. Whenever he awoke he would lie still and listen. He would smell the scent of the air for intruders but each time nothing came. Of course a dragon should protect his gold, but he also felt there was another reason why he was checking for intruders. It felt like he was waiting.
Again, Smaug woke up, and though his body did not feel ready to move, his mind would not settle. With a huff, the dragon relax back within his pile, but did not fall asleep. Sensations and visions ran across his head, but they felt distant. Of course....of course they were distant he was a dragon, he lived for so long that he knew words of languages long dead. These sensations though, snaps of visions, and thoughts... the dragon let them pass over him, reveling him them, but also feeling under attack by their presence. He felt antsy, but with no motivation to move on.
Stranger: ((Sorry, I'm really slow with my replies, so I feel a bit silly even asking this, but are you still writing your response? It says you are, but my net has been known to lie about that sort of thing sometimes. :S ))
You: ((No I'm not my net is slow too. Take your time, I'm doing other things anyways =) ))
Stranger: ((Hello?))
You: ((I haven't gotten anything?))
You: (Did you get my reply?))
Stranger: No, I haven't received anything since I posted the prompt. It's just said you've been typing all this time. :S))
You: ((Oh wow, really damn))

Stranger: Durin's day dawned over lonely mountain, left Bilbo feeling anxious, and a little sick to his stomach. By the time the sun had started to set, revealing the location of the secret door, he was sure his insides had turned to lead. But he forced himself to enter the tunnel, knowing he may never leave again.
One foot in front of the other. That was the ticket. In theory this was the reason he’d been hired in the first place, but now he was here, despite everything he’d already been through, he wished he’d never signed the bloody contract.
Bilbo fumbled in his pocket. He was perhaps halfway down the secret tunnel into the mountain, well out of sight of Thorin’s Company. Now was as good a time as any. He slipped the ring onto his finger, feeling immediately, if only marginally better about the situation.
‘It’s alright Bilbo old boy.’ He thought. ‘You’re invisible. All you have to do is sneak in, pinch some treasure, and get out. You’ll be fine. What could go wrong?’
You: IT became obvious to the dragon that he was not falling back asleep any time soon. His mind was in a constant state of flux, it nearly leveled him. It had started a pain he could not describe nor knew how to fight back against. He lay, nearly immobilized, under his gold wondering if this was just one long real nightmare. Dragons never really had nightmares though, what would they be afraid of? Especially him, one the last dragons in Middle Earth, living among gold in a well fortified castle under a mountain.
A new scent wafted into the cavern.
The dragon stiffened, the movement only slightly shifting the gold around him. Fire burn in his chest, and the sudden awakening of his nerves made him want to reeled back and charge for whatever had brought the new scent into his lair. At the same time, it was a relief, and one the dragon did not want to lose to quickly for whatever reason. So he stayed and waited, listening.
Stranger: When Bilbo cautiously stepped from the safety of the hidden tunnel and into the great hall beyond, all previous feelings of trepidation and fear were temporarily pushed from his mind, as the sheer splendor of the towering hall and rolling hills of gold made its impression on him.
He had never been a greedy individual, and even now (in fact, especially now he'd seen them) had no idea what he would do with one fourteenth of the treasures recovered. But even he had to admit the glittering horde was mesmerizing.
He shook his head. Pretty as it was, all of the gold in the world would be no use to a dead hobbit. He looked for the dragon, but failed to spot it anywhere. Perhaps it was sound asleep in another part of the hall. The halfling stooped quickly and carefully picked an ornate goblet from the gold strewn floor.
Hopefully Thorin would be satisfied with this for now.
You: What was the smell, even? He didn't recognize it, at least, it had a familiarity he could not place. Surely nothing around now could have existed as far back in his forgotten memories? The dragon lay in wait for whatever it was to come closer into his domain. Waiting, he tightened his claws over gold scrapes, readying to lift himself out. What he was planning to do was....did whatever enter his lair take something of his? A growl burned deep in the dragon's stomach as he finally lifted himself quickly from the gold mound, sending sprays of coins and an avalanche of treasure far over. His tail whipped and turned more priceless artifacts as the dragon moved to try and locate his intruder. "Thief. Reveal yourself."
Stranger: To his extreme credit, the only sound that escaped the hobbit on the sudden and calamitous appearance of the dragon was a choking gasp, completely lost to his ears over the sound of falling gold and tumbling treasures.
His knuckles turned white as he subconsciously clutched the goblet in his shaking hands.
In the cacophony of his terrified thoughts, the idea that the dragons voice sounded strangely, haunting familiar was too small to make itself heard over the realization that his adventure was about to come to a terrible end.
You: Smaug opened his maw to let out a torrent of red hot flames over the area around him, only to close it and let the steam release through his nostrils. Though he despised the very idea of someone thinking they could get away with stealing from him, he felt no intense need to kill it as he usually did. Instead he wanted to find it, to see the one who was so daring to enter a dragon's lair. After the last gold coin had stopped, and a silence ringed through out the cavern, the dragon finally spoke once more. His voice was a bit more calming this time, until like the boom of sound it was before. And as he spoke his eyes scanned the area, looking for the intruder.
"How did you enter this place, thief? This mountain was once owned by dwarfs and made nearly impenetrable....except for the likes of me, but I know you are no dragon. So....what are you?"
Stranger: Now that the gold had finished raining down around them and he heard the dragons voice a little clearer, it struck a chord in the back of his mind, though he couldn't quite place it. Against all common sense, the voice invoked a sense of fondness in him.
Perhaps it was a mixture of this fact and the overwhelming terror which moved him to speak, his mind off hiding as his mouth prattled on.
"Oh, no nothing especially interesting, I'm afraid." He answered, glancing around to gauge how quickly he could make it to the tunnel entrance.
Stranger: ((Did you get my post?))
You: ((Yes sorry!))
Stranger: ((Haha! No problem. I guess I'm just a bit paranoid because of what happened earlier. XD))
You: The dragon's head perked up all the bit more. The odd sense he had been feeling since awakening for the first time and increased at the sound of the voice...and he was much more determined to not let this creature escape him. Lowering his head, the dragon began to scan over the place, listening carefully, and looking over mounds of possible hiding places. The others voice bounced off the walls making it to hard to pinpoint the origin of the sound.
"Then what are you? You're smell is......unfamiliar to me."
You: *your
Stranger: "Just, just a traveler really. I expect I must have picked up a mix of scents." A thought struck him. He remembered an old, half forgotten fairy tale from his youth, which had said something or other about dragons being fond of riddles and cunning word games. Despite his already winning /one/ life or death game of riddles on this adventure, he wasn't at all sure he'd have the wit to keep the dragon talking (a good plan, seeing as if it were talking to him it obviously hadn't eaten him yet), but was at least worth a shot.
"I've come from under the hills, and under the hills and over the hills I came. I've been the guest of eagles, the spider stinger and the web cutter."
He wasn't even sure what he was saying anymore, panic moving his lips more than anything, but it sounded pretty good.
Stranger: *But it was at least worth a shot
You: The dragon tilted his head, listening as the other spoke. What was this now? The charge of having to figure out a riddle though seemed to help settle his mind more though and the dragon relaxed until the other was finished. Afterwards, the dragon grinned. "You've achieved much then on your travels, if what you say is true. What possesses one to come to a dragon's lair? You know a dragon is familiar with all of his treasures, as I am within this palace of mine. You would not get far from me once you stole something. Is that really all you have traveled here for?"
Stranger: "Certainly not!" The halfling continued, slightly proud of the way his voice seemed to stay so smooth and level while inside he shook like a leaf.
"Adventure and experience are treasures in their own right, and I've been adding to my store. How could I pass up the chance to steal a glance at the dragon Smaug? Chiefest and greatest of calamities?"
He hardly sounded like himself.
You: The dragon couldn't help but puff out his chest out a bit. "I see my reputation still stands, despite my lack of activity as of late." The compliment distracted the dragon for a moment from the frustration that he was feeling at having no located the intruder yet. "Still...you sound interesting yourself, traveler. Reveal yourself. Don't be shy." His tail had curled back into itself, staying ready to push force a wave of coins if he noticed the other trying to escape.
Stranger: "Oh, Shyness is only natural when one as humble in grandeur as I is placed next to one so magnificent and powerful." He explained calmly, though in truth he was beginning to sweat. That was what, two or three times he'd asked him to reveal himself now. How long could he keep the dragons interest without revealing himself? How long until Smaug grew frustrated and found him on his own (As Bilbo had no doubt the dragon could)? How long until he either escaped or became a meal?
You: ((it says you're still typing?)
Stranger: ((Uh, nope? what was the last thing you got?))
Stranger: ((Hello?))
You: ((Oh! By the way, if we get disconnected or anything, my Tumblr is gtridel.tumblr.com and my RP email is [email protected]!))
You: ((Didn't get that last bit))
Stranger: ((Did it go through this time? D:))
You: (yep!))
Stranger: ((Oh, okay. Man Omegle is being such a derp today. XD))
You: ((cha))
Stranger: ((So are you writing a reply or...? (Man this is confusing)))
You: The dragon growled deep in his throat. As much as this was helping his headache now, the yearning to find the other started to grow. And he was not willing to lose it. "Enough or your games, intruder. Reveal yourself, or I will turn over every last mound of gold, and you will suffer far more then from my anger alone." He flicked his tail, sending gold bits to scatter across the cavern."
You: *cavern.
Stranger: "Ah, w-well, it seems I've out stayed my welcome." He stuttered, his anxiety finally making itself evident in his voice. The dragon's voice may have been familiar and inviting, but the idea of being captured and killed by its owner was not. The exit wasn't that far, he was sure he could make it before being snapped up in the creatures jaws, but out running its fire might prove impossible.
He began backing towards the only escape avalable to him.
Stranger: *available
You: The dragon snarled, bringing himself up to his fullest height. "You shall not escape from here!" Instead of breathing down a torrent of flames which would surely enough to catch up and burn the hobbit alive, he brought his front legs up and smashed down, causing a ripple effect throughout all the cave. Rocks fell, and the gold shifted, then completely started to move light a ocean in the storm as situated itself in different places.
Stranger: Bilbo cried out, stumbling as the entire cavern shook and the mountains of gold began shifting and sliding. He braced himself as an avalanche of coins and gems rushed down upon him. It pummeled him, much heavier and more painful than he had hoped. As he was born along, the rind slipped off his already too small finger, becoming lost among the rest of the glittering gold.
You: The dragon stood still, hearing the cry of the other creature among the noise of the gold and smiling. He knew how to get what he wanted, even without causing total and complete destruction. Although there was still the point of finding the other, but if he was buried among the gold, at least the dragon didn't have to worry about it fleeing before it did. When the gold finally settled, the dragon stepped out, searching. "If I am correct, you're currently buried beneath more treasure then you bargained for. Make yourself apparent so I can find you, or risk being buried and crushed alive and lost forever."
Stranger: In his panic, Bilbo hadn't even noticed the loss of his ring. He desperately scrabbled at the gold berrying him, trying to win a bit of space and air for himself, making altogether too much noise for one desperate to avoid a dragon. Confusticate and be bother burgling and everything to do with it. He should have stayed in Hobbiton.
You: The dragon moved carefully over his piles of shifted gold, only to finally spot some movement over yonder. Showing his teeth in a grin, the dragon moved closer, only to come hover just over the moving bit of gold. Bringing his tail up, he moved some of the gold just a bit to reveal the other underneath it, not entirely helping him out to escape. "There you are, thief."
Stranger: His ears were still ringing when he felt the heaviest of the gold brushed off of him, as if it had been nothing but sand. The halfling stared back at the dragon, getting a good look at it for the first and undoubtedly last time. Sudden realization dawned, and Bilbo quickly raised his hand, feeling his stomach drop as he found it completely innocent of the ring that was his one and only lifeline.
"Oh damn!" He hissed.
You: Smaug grinned widely as realization seemed to take a hold of the other. And without further ado, the dragon dropped his snout down, opening wide, and submerged his jaw into the gold pile. Closing barely around it, the dragon lifted his head, gold spilling past his teeth as he turned and crawled back further into the middle of his cave. Coming to the center mound where he usually slept, he dipped his head back down and opened his mouth; allowing the gold and still alive hobbit to tumble out, freed, technically.
Stranger: He screamed, actually screamed as the dragons jaws closed around him. Well, if ever there was a reason to scream he supposed this was it.
The dragon had taken up a great deal of gold along with the halfling, but it did little to shield him from the hot saliva dripping and sloshing around him, or the horrifying feeling of the dragons tong, one huge muscle which would at any moment push him down into the monster's gullet.
He struggled blindly, terror taking complete hold of his actions, but to his everlasting shock, he was not swallowed whole by the beast.
Instead, the jaws parted and he fell, along with a river of gold and spit, onto yet another waiting pile of treasure. Breath quick and shallow, the hobbit wiped the saliva from his eyes and stared at the dragon again, confused and uneasy, for all that he was still alive.
You: His mouth burned with a bad aftertaste, and it wasn't just due to the gold. The others scream and struggling had left a twisted feeling inside the dragon's stomach, despite how it use to be one of the more fun parts of eating his prey. He narrowed his eyes down at the other, shifting so that his tail blocked half of where the other could escape too. "It should be obvious now that I have no intention of eating you, so you can stop your sniveling. It can get redundant at times."
Stranger: ((Sorry, BRB!))
You: ((kk))
Stranger: "I-I am /not/ sniveling." The hobbit countered, again letting his mouth carry on while his mind hid under the sofa. Despite his protestations though, he couldn't stop shaking, the tremors wracking his body and a horribly strange feeling of... Betrayal burning in his belly. (Though why he should feel betrayed when it was only natural for the dragon to try to eat him he couldn't guess at)
You: The dragon found the sight of the hobbit shaking to be very, very unappealing. So unappealing that he actually brought his snout down, carefully and closed this time, next to the little one. He bumped his snout gently against the other, almost like a horse does into the hand of it's owner. "There now, you're alive. Stop that."
Stranger: He flinched away from the dragon instinctively, but cleared his throat, trying to get a hold of his body once again, though it was a loosing battle.
"Y-yes, that is a bit of a surprise, I have to admit."
You: ((Hey, yea, I have to go until 9 so if you want to wait up for that long, if not that's understandable, I'll email you later!)
Stranger: ((Okay, no problem! I have no idea what time it is for you, but I'll leave this tab open. :))
You: ((it's 7:40 right now))
Stranger: ((Ah, okay so you're about an hour behind me. Like I said, I'll leave the tab open, but if my net derps out, you've got my email. :) ))

You both like johnlock, and greaserlock.
You: What the hell were you thinking with that stunt in front of school today? JW
You: (17)
Stranger: I don't see what you mean by 'stunt', John. SH (16)
You: The one you pulled with your motorcycle? JW
Stranger: Oh, that. I was bored. SH
You: Bored? You could have gotten hurt! JW
Stranger: What a pity. SH
You: You're an idiot. JW
Stranger: Thank you. SH
Stranger: Although, I don't see why it bothers you do much. SH
Stranger: So**
You: I thought you were going to beef it. I was scared for you. JW
Stranger: And..? Your point? SH
You: I still care about you, you big oaf! JW
Stranger: And I didn't get hurt.
Stranger: SH
Stranger: It was a simple trick, really. SH
You: Well, it looked pretty dangerous to me. JW
Stranger: Dangerous. You meant to type, exhilarating, didn't you? SH
You: No. I didn't. JW
Stranger: Pity. SH
Stranger: Alright, fine. I won't do any 'stunts' in front of the school to make sure none of the little squares feel upset. SH
Stranger: Happy? SH
You: Better. JW
Stranger: Good. I'll do them a block down. SH
You: Seriously. JW
Stranger: Two blocks down. SH
You: No. JW
Stranger: Why not? SH
You: The reason why I don't want you to do it is because of you, Sherlock. I don't want you to get hurt. JW
Stranger: I /won't/ get hurt. And what do you care, anyway? You barely know me. SH
You: I told you that I do care, Sherlock. You're a smart guy, when you're not acting like an idiot. JW
Stranger: It wasn't me acting like an idiot. I carefully practiced each step, the physics behind it all and found plenty of more outcomes for staying safe. SH
You: You really did that for that one stunt? JW
Stranger: I know each law of physics and how to successfully manipulate them. Of course I did. SH
You: ....that is pretty smart. JW
Stranger: It's simple. Everyone should know them. SH
You: Well, they're not that simple. JW
Stranger: Of course, they are. SH
Stranger: My brother drilled them through my head when I was only young, of course. SH
You: Not a lot of people knew about them when they were kids. Including me. JW
Stranger: People are idiots. SH
You: I...suppose we are. JW
Stranger: Not you. SH
You: Not me? After I just ragged on you on a stunt that you apparently knew what you were doing? JW
Stranger: You were concerned. Your first thought wouldn't have been, 'Sherlock's fine. He knows what he's supposed to do.' SH
You: Heh, you're right. I guess I should have at least asked you if you knew what you were doing. Since apparently you did. JW
Stranger: ...Thank you, for the concern, anyway. SH
You: You're welcome. JW
Stranger: You were never on one. SH
You: What? JW
Stranger: A motorcycle. SH
You: Oh...yea, you're right, I haven't. JW
Stranger: I'd give you the ride of your life. SH
Stranger: Let me rephrase that.. SH
Stranger: Or, nevermind. I like how that sounds. SH
You: Oh jeez....yea, I bet it would pretty intense. JW
Stranger: Oh, it could be. ;) SH
You: Is that a real invite then? JW
Stranger: Take it as you wish, John. SH
You: Uh...I'm going to take it as an invite to go for a motorcycle ride sometime. JW
You: In which, yea, I would like too. For a ride, sometime. JW
Stranger: Which type? SH
Stranger: Good, then. How long will it take you to be ready by? SH
You: Uh, five minutes I guess. Do you have an extra helmet? JW
Stranger: You'll be safe without one. SH
You: You're sure? JW
Stranger: Yes. SH
Stranger: If you feel you e
Stranger: Need one, it's fine. SH
You: Well, I've never been on a motorcycle before. But if you say it's safe, I'll ride without one. JW
Stranger: It's safe. And I'm on my way now. SH
You: Alright. I'll see you soon then. JW
Stranger: Planning on it. SH
You: John fidgeted with his phone before pocketing it. He didn't expect how the conversation he started would turn out but....it was good, actually. He was nervous as hell about riding a bike, but he had to admit, he had a crush on the other boy. The whole riding thing though...was he just jerking around with him? Putting that picture out of his mind, John grabbed a coat and headed outside, listening for the tall tell noise of a motorcycle engine.
Stranger: Sherlock grinned as he leaned againt his bike, a lit cigarette slid inbetween his lips. He had, in light of earlier in the conversation, parked about a block down from John's street. He blew smoke rings in the air, inhaling them soon after. He crushed it with the heel of his boot as he saw a figure walking out towards him. "Is a block down good enough for you?" he teased.
You: John blinked widely when he saw the other wasn't anywhere nearby, only to look down the street and spot him a block off. He was confused for a second before it hit him. Feeling both silly but also humored, John walked down the ways, keeping his hands into his pocket. "Perfect." he said, rolling his eyes. He took a look at Sherlock, then to the bike. "I...guess I just sit behind you then?" He hoped he wasn't visibly blushing at the idea of being so close to the other on the behemoth.
Stranger: "it doesn't matter, front or back. You'll get a better view in the front, of course." He breathed, stalking out slowly closer towards him. He gazed into John's dark, sea blue eyes that was about the same color of his bike. He wondered silently to himself what John would look like in leather. "Pick your poison."
You: John leaned slightly back, but that was all he could managed as his eyes were caught by the other. He eventually felt to immobilized to move, staring back at Sherlock's glistening eyes and smelling the faint waft of cigarette smoke. "Uh....I didn't even know I could ride in the front without having to drive." he finally managed out as a reply.
Stranger: "Oh, it will work, trust me." He winked at him before stepping closer. He reached forward and ran his hand through his short hair playfully. "Either way, you'll have to hold on to me."
Stranger: ((it's late and I feel like I'm about to fall asleep..do you have a kik?))
You: ((No. Email?))
Stranger: (([email protected]. We can keep going on here, but if in a while you don't get a response, I don't want to have to loose this rp.))
You: ((I understand XD It's late here too, but I need to finish some work.))
Stranger: ((that's fine.))
You: John really, really hoped his face wasn't red. Which it probably was. Sherlock putting his hand through his hair nearly rendered him speechless. "Uh, front, then. Please." he added, though he felt ridiculous about it.
Stranger: Sherlock smiled wickedly and stepped to the side, holding his hand out toward the bike in mock courtesy. "After you, John." His fingers traced along the seat of the bike absently as he watched him.
You: John glanced down when the other finally pulled away. Walking up next too the bike, he hesitated before stepping up and quite awkwardly swinging his leg over the set to sit down. "So, right here then?"
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like winglock, fawnlock, pocket john, and kidlock.
Stranger: "I know you're there," Sherlock said to the tiny man hiding behind the coffee mug. "You took some of my food, a pin, and a button. Come out so I can get a good look at you." He'd been noticing small things missing in his flat for weeks, but this was the first time the thief had been bold enough to strike while he was home.
You: John swore under his breath. He knew he was getting to cocky, and now he was going to pay the price. The little man was surprised however when he heard the other say just what he had taken from him. He'd always try to take things that would not be missed. John contemplated for a moment if running could be his best option, until he finally sighed. The closest escape was not anywhere near enough where he could make it without being caught. Finally, John stepped around he mug, bearing his back straight and looking up at the much taller human.
Stranger: Sherlock leaned down to examine the man. "Do you live in my walls? Under my furniture, perhaps? There's no way you could be traveling from anywhere as far as the attic, with the minimal amount of equipment you're got." The equipment was clearly all made from scavenged items, and the man's clothes were handmade.
You: The little man kept himself from wincing as the other leaned in closer to him. He shouldn't show fear, that was key right now. At the questions, the little man rolled his eyes, but kept from crossing his arms. He didn't know if he might have to move quick. "I live somewhere in this apartment, that's all you need to know." he replied.
You: (hey could you wait just a bit? I need to go pick up some dinner before the meal place in my dorm closes))
Stranger: "Well, it's my flat. Nothing in the lease about a flatmate," Sherlock countered. "Not that I mind. Most people wouldn't have even noticed your presence. I suppose you're used to keeping out of sight?"
Stranger: (Sure! I'll take the time to cook something myself, too.)
You: John huffed. It may say the other had the rights to this place, but John had been living here longer. That must count as something right? It wasn't like John enjoyed living off of others, but what else could he do? "i am. It's the only way I can survive as I am."
You: (Thanks for waiting! ^^)
Stranger: "Understandable. A rat would pose as much threat to you as a lion would to me, I suppose. You'd want to live somewhere warm, dry, and free of pests... naturally, limiting your access to raw materials and forcing you to scavenge. How many of your kind are there?" Sherlock asked, deducing as he spoke. There were at least enough to sustain a culture, but how many across the world? They were entirely unknown to science, and he could only vaguely recall a nursery rhyme speaking of the borrowing-folk.
You: The little man frowned at this comparison, but he was right. Rats could be a huge threat to little people, more than humans really as they could squeeze into the same small spaces. However, at the question about others, John stiffened. "I can't answer that." he said. Talking about where other small people were was a danger to all of them, and seen as a betrayal.
Stranger: "Fair enough," Sherlock shrugged. "Though with the small amount of food you took, I can't imagine there are others living with you, not that you have to provide for. You're living alone by choice. Why is that?"
You: "How can you tell so much just by looking at me?" the small man questioned, breaking this round of 20 questions. He shifted on his feet, the pang of his leg still evident on his mind but not showing under this situation. He blinked more than usual as well, trying not to show that he had an obvious lack of sleep. "Maybe you can find out yourself."
Stranger: Sherlock picked up a tea towel, folded it, and set it down on the table as something for the small man to rest on. "I observe, I don't just look. You'd be a lot more frightened and anxious to get away if there was someone at home waiting for you, whereas you mostly seem irritated at yourself for getting caught."
You: John raised an eyebrow at the small tea towel, although he had to admit, it looked nice to sit or lay on. He couldn't relax though, not now, not in front of a human. It was what little people were taught never to do. "We were living in a different building, and we didn't realize until it was to late that a couple of crows were making a nest nearby." He kept his left shoulder still when recalling the memory. "It tried to attack my family, and I defended it off. I recovered from my injuries, but I was never as fast or as strong as I use to be. And I kept having nightmares. So I decided to leave so I wouldn't be a burden on them."
Stranger: Was that how things were in this man's society? Sherlock supposed it wasn't so different from what he was used to. "That's unfortunate. So you came here and settled in, only to have me come along and upset your life. Do you intend to move again?" It seemed like it would be an enormous challenge to find somewhere else safe to live, but not impossible.
You: Looking back up at the human, John sighed. "I'll have too. It's just how it is. Nothing good comes from humans and little people interacting." It would be a huge pain, he already knew a lot of the surrounding flats already had people in them, some not to keen on sharing space, so he would have to travel for quite a distance.
Stranger: "Is that what you've been told?" Sherlock asked. "Look, I already know your kind exist. The damage has been done, and if I really wanted to know more I could look for others to interrogate. But why go through the effort? Why not just stay here with me, and not bother hiding?"
You: "You can't!" John quickly said, at the others notion of finding others. If others of his kind were caught because of his mistake, he could never forgive himself. John took a step back. Not having to hide would be nice, and human company was better than no company, but how could he decide to do such a risk? "I can't....it's never worked before."
Stranger: "Why not? We'll agree on what's off-limits for you to take, what to do if someone visits unexpectedly and so one, and no one will be the wiser. I'm not about to go sharing my discovery with the world."
You: John was still very hesitant. "I don't know." At the last remark, he perked an eyebrow and looked back up at the other. "Discovery?"
Stranger: "No one knows about your kind, not really," Sherlock explained. "If the news got out, you'd all find life quite a bit more unpleasant. People wouldn't want to share their homes, they'd call for exterminators, there would be experiments... none of it desirable, but all of it predictable."
You: (brb!)
You: John's stomach clenched at the very idea of it. "Right. Great. Do us a favour then. Forget me and all about us, and I promise I'll never steal a button from you again." John with finality, turning to walk away from the other.
Stranger: "I said I didn't want to do that," Sherlock sighed. "That's the thing I want to /avoid/."
You: "Well, how can you promise that it won't accidentally happen if I stick around here?" John demanded, turning back to face the other. "You seem nice, you really do, and I know you wouldn't do it on purpose, but I can't take a risk that may put the rest of my kind in danger."
Stranger: "Just hide when you hear someone else coming up the stairs, and don't get cocky about it like you did today. That should be more than enough to keep you a secret."
You: John hesitated, thinking this over. It was risky, but, if they did it right. Looking back at the other, he finally asked, "What do you plan on getting from this?"
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like vamplock, and femlock.
Stranger: I want you to turn me. SH (fem)
You: What? JW
Stranger: Surely I don't have to repeat myself over text. SH
You: Sherlock, you should really reconsider. JW
Stranger: Why? SH
Stranger: Why? SH
You: IT's not what people expect, alright? I just...I don't think I can turn you. JW
Stranger: You can't or you won't? SH
You: I won't. JW
Stranger: I see. SH
Stranger: I'll find someone else to do it, then. SH
You: What? No, Sherlock, you can't! That's dangerous! JW
Stranger: I don't care. SH
You: Why do you want to turn? JW
Stranger: That should be obvious, John. SH
You: It's not an easy life, Sherlock. I don't want to see you regret it. It's torn others apart before. JW
Stranger: Attempt to have some faith in me, John. I am very highly motivated to adjust. SH
You: Are you really sure about this? Have you thought it through? JW
Stranger: Yes, I have. This is what I want. SH
You: Fine. I'll do it. JW
Stranger: You will? Excellent. I will return to the flat, then. SH
You: I'd rather it be me then a random vampire you could probably manage to find. JW
Stranger: I'd rather it be you, too. I've heard the experience is less painful when the bite comes from a lover. SH
You: That's not exactly true....they just think it's less painful because they get comforted during the moment. JW
Stranger: Mm. SH
Stranger: Are you upset that I want to turn? SH
You: To be honest, I've wanted to turn you for some time. JW
Stranger: Oh. Good. SH
You: You have to be sure about this, Sherlock. I kept myself from even thinking about it, because I thought it was to selfish of an idea. You need to be completely resolute that this is what you want. JW
Stranger: I wouldn't ask you to kill me and bring me back as the undead unless I was quite sure, John. SH
You: Heh, I don't if know that or the term turning sounds more gruesome. JW
Stranger: I know the success rate. I know what turning would mean. I want this. SH
You: Alright. I've already agreed to do it. When will you be home? JW
Stranger: Half an hour. Should I bring anything? SH
You: Uh, there's nothing we actually need for this. JW
Stranger: All right. I'll see you soon, then. SH
You: See you soon. Be safe. JW
Stranger: Sherlock peeled off her coat and scarf after walking into the flat, hanging them up on the hook by the door. She toed off her boots as well, padding into the sitting room and perching on the sofa. "John," she murmured.
You: John had been pacing in the kitchen, but when he heard Sherlock enter the flat downstairs, he went over to sit still in his armchair. He knew they both wanted this...but the risk, and the pain Sherlock would have to go through...He didn't say anything until Sherlock perched onto the sofa, finally looking at her from his chair. "....are you feeling alright?"
Stranger: She raised an eyebrow at him, her lips quirking in a smile. "Perfectly," she said. She paused, looking him over. "Shouldn't I be the one who's nervous?" She teased.
You: John looked away from the other, focusing a glare on the empty chair across from him. "Easy for you to say. You wouldn't have to be the one living with the consequences if this goes wrong."
Stranger: Sherlock sighed, climbing onto John's lap and winding her arms around his neck. She tilted her head and kissed him tenderly. "Don't worry," she purred.
You: John focused his gaze back on the other, his eyes softening considerably. He took the kiss back equally as gently, until a few seconds after, when he leaned back up to capture the others mouth in a much more passionate kiss, allowing his fangs hidden behind his lips to just press up against the others mouth. "I love you."
Stranger: Sherlock gave a soft moan as she felt the sharp pressure of John's fangs against her mouth and tangled her fingers in John's blond-grey hair. "I love you, too," she said between kisses. "You won't hurt me, John. Not irreversibly. You won't."
You: John brought his hands over to place on Sherlock's hips, to hold her close. "I could never..." he paused, kissed. "I would never want to hurt you, Sherlock."

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like fawnlock.
Stranger: He'd had his eyes on him for awhile, knowing he wasn't supposed to. They were of different kinds, one of the hunt, one of prey. There were no questions asked, the world was as it was, but yet naughty as he was, he always had to go against the will of his pack. The young wolf pup did love the young deer, finding a fascination in his spots, how clean and quiet he was as he roamed the forest. He would sneak between the trees, hiding in the shadows, watching Fawnlock from a distance. Wolfiarty kept his black eyes watching, admiring the subtle softness of the young fawn.
You: Fawnlock came to a stop as something caught his eye. After a moment, a moth that had been near invisible due to it's camouflage fluttered and headed into the air. The young fawn smiled and continued to walk among the low branches of the trees. He had an eye for the tricks in the forest. However, for awhile now he had felt like he was being watched. Which was unusual, as most the time something is always watching in the forest, but it was a different feeling this time. Whatever it was, it did not make itself known to the fawn, and he tried to carry on exploring this section of the forest, trying to forget the odd feeling which would sometimes make the fur on his neck stand on end.
Stranger: The further the fawn headed into the heart of the forest, the more the wolf pup followed, slinking about through the shadows, his ears twitching at every sound, every snap and bird call of the forest. He tried to keep quiet during his observations, to make it easier on him, of course. If he revealed himself now he would scare the sweet fawn away.
You: It was a rather hot day, Fawnlock soon thought to himself, as he traveled further into the forest. And nothing interesting was presenting itself. There was a few movements and sounds indicating the other beasts of the woods, but no one to really catch his attention. And the young fawn refused the idea of finding where his family was at the moment. He would bother with that later. Finding a particular tree which grew at an angle, Fawnlock finally decided to take a rest, leaning back on the trunk to make himself comfortable and letting his eyes close.
Stranger: Now he wouldn't have to risk his position by crunching over leaves just to follow Fawnlock. He was relatively new to the forest, as his pack had just come through. They stayed on the far side where it was cooler in the trees, where their dark fur kept them warm. Wolfiarty was a small wolf, despite his age, but he was quick and light on his back, furry black paws. He hurried through, running over a few crunching leaves, which made him wince. All he wanted was a better look at the fawn's fascinating print, the way he was speckled, the thick dark hair that grew over him, his powerful antlers. Perhaps even a smell; Smells were interesting to the wolf packs, as it defined each one of them, defined who they were, helped families claim their young and smell out their positions. Anything just to be close to the fawn without frightening him away. He knew the deer weren't too fond of the wolves.
You: Fawnlock's ears twitched once or twice, but other than that he was slowly starting to fall asleep. His hands were folded over his chest and his head was angled just so that his horns would not nudge against the bark of the tree. There was really no need for him to have a worry about wolves, had there had been none on this side of the forest since he was born. His family had not even warn him about them.
Stranger: The wolf snuck around the trunk of the tree, finding the perfect opportunity once the fawn had fallen gently asleep. He curled his body around the trunk, crouching on his light stepping paws, letting his hands rest upon the bark of the tree. He flattened his grey, black-tipped ears, leaning forward gently to the sleeping deer. His eyelids fluttered a bit, closing slowly as he leaned closer, taking in his scent. He started first with his thick, dark locks on his head, then down his face and to his neck. He smelled musky, of the night, of the cool forest. He smelled of sweet herbs and the sweet grass they must have picked. He smelled peaceful as the trees and happy as the birds. He smiled gently, hoping he was quiet enough not to wake him.
You: The young fawn was completely unaware of the wolf who stood so close to him. He had a nice walk which deserved a small rest. Fawnlock did however shift slightly in his sleep, angling his head just a bit. That's when his nose also caught onto a sent. It was strange and unknown to his mind. It had little traces of his surrounding wood and covered mostly in something foreign. A stranger in the woods. The young fawn's eyes flashed open and looked up to stare right at the wolf.
Stranger: The wolf's ears pricked up and he stared face to face with the fawn with large black eyes. He held completely still, his face calm, his hands gripping the bark, as if he was more afraid of the fawn. He hadn't meant to disturb him, no, he would have rather he rested. He could see the alarm in his face, and slowly he hunched downwards, hoping that lowering himself would make him less of a threat, as to be seen as lower than the fawn.
You: Fawnlock continued to stare back at the other, his ears slightly twitching as he heard the other breath, since they were so close. He didn't know how to respond, being so close to something he had never met before. Finally it was the other who moved, who lowered himself down, making it obvious he did not intend to hurt Fawnlock. Fawnlock straightened up, getting to his hooves but still leaning against the tree. "Who are you?"
Stranger: The wolf stayed low, crouched on his paws. "I believe we now share the forest." he said softly, giving a trying smile, his ears not pressed so low by his head now. They flicked a bit as he heard a bird passing by, slowly raising up a bit more. He was a bit shorter than Fawnlock, but still had a sense of power to him despite his size. "Who are you?"
You: A look of irritation crossed Fawnlock's face. As the other moved up a bit, the young fawn stepped forward, leaning over the other to show a bit of power. "I asked you first. You answer me."
Stranger: The pup straightened his back again, looking up to the fawn. "My family's name is Wolfiarty. You may call me Jim. It was my grandfather's name." he said almost spitefully. He bowed a bit, lowering his head, then bringing himself back up. "And now yours?"
Stranger: (Just in case, my internet likes to threaten to go out at random times..if I disconnect at all and you'd like to continue, my email and tumblr is glochma..)
Stranger: (Well, gmail is glochma. I suppose that would help haha)
You: The fawn huffed, straightening up and leaning away from the other. "My name is Fawnlock." he replied simply, crossing his arms in front of him. "What were you doing so close to me while I was sleeping?"
Stranger: The wolf's tails swished back and forth curiously, studying him, his soft hairs, his stance of power. "Oh, pardon me." he said, smiling softly. "It's just my way. Us wolves, we..like to take in scents. Mothers smell their pups to claim them, we use them to tell status, to tell who is family and who is not." He looked down briefly, then back up to Fawnlock. "I've never smelled a creature besides my own kind."
You: Fawnlock had never met a wolf before. He had a strong desire to be openly curious as well, but at the moment he felt stubborn, especially considering that the other had woken him up. "Most other creatures do not tend to like being sniffed during their sleep." the fawn said, then added, "Were you the one following me all this time?"
Stranger: Jim shrugged a bit, looking away at the trees, watching a few small months flutter by. "My apologies. I was only curious." he mused. "I was following you, yes. Not supposed to, my lovely daddy would be angry with me.." he said, his eyes darkening a bit. "But I suppose I couldn't help myself."
You: Fawnlock had looked away from the other for a moment, but finally looked back to observe the other. His father did not want him following other creatures in the forest? Pausing for a moment, the fawn finally stepped closer to Jim, letting his arms relax down a bit. "I have never met a wolf before either." he admitted.
Stranger: "Mm, I don't think many of your kind have." the wolf grinned, his tail swishing more excitedly now, brushing up against the back of his legs. "But I'm not here to hunt. I want to know more about you." he said. He was a devious one, his eyes gave that away clearly. But he was so gentle, is tone soft, his physique curious and eager to learn.
You: Fawnlock looked over the other for a moment, wondering if it was a good idea or not to stick around this creature. He was still taller than him, and perhaps his knowledge of the forest would help if he needed to get away. He was bored though and this wolf was interesting. "Fine. We can learn about each other." he finally gave in, leaning back against the tree. "Where did you and your family come from?"
Stranger: The wolf folded his hands behind his back, pacing a bit back and forth. "We came from the far forest, about a hundred miles from here." he said, shuddering lightly as he remembered the harsh voyage. He remembered how much of his family he lost, his struggle for food, his living with his father. "Northern forest. Too many hunters."

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You both like slavelock, Femlock, and kidlock.
Stranger: ((Femlock AU)) Sherlock sat in the flat, pondering how she had let this happen. She was an idiot. Even worse, she had been a drunken idiot. She never did things like this, and the one time she did she got pregnant. She groaned and let her head fall back. Then she picked up her phone, quickly sending a text. John, I know you're probably busy with Mary setting up your new furniture or something equally dull, but I need to talk to you. - SH
You: Alright, Sherlock. Do you want to meet somewhere? -JW
Stranger: The flat will do. I'm already here. - SH
You: I'll need to tell Mary, but I should be there soon. This isn't a medical emergency, is it? -JW
Stranger: It's not an emergency at the moment, though in a few months it could be. - SH
You: ...what? -JW
Stranger: I'm not saying it over text. You'll understand when you get here. - SH
You: I'll be there soon, Sherlock. -JW
Stranger: Thank you. - SH
You: Mary understood when John said he needed to go see Sherlock, especially when seeing the slight panicked look in his eyes. He kissed his wife good bye and left their flat to catch a cab. Quite a few possibilities were formulating in his mind, but the doctor kept himself from thinking to hard on one or the other. When he made it to the flat, he was quick to enter with the key he still possessed and came up to his old flat. As soon as he came in he sought the other out, looking to her immediately to see if she was alright. "What's wrong, Sherlock."
Stranger: "Hello, John." Sherlock replied simply. "Kettle just boiled, I made you tea." she added, gesturing over to his old arm chair. She sipped from her own cup, and waited until her friend was seated. "A few months ago I met up with an old boyfriend from university. Well... Not so much "boyfriend" as "fuck buddy". She started, pursing her lips. This was surprisingly hard to say.
You: John paused and glanced to the tea that was obviously waiting for him. He felt a bit ashamed at this for jumping into things. It had been awhile since he had seen his best friend...but not entirely long, and he had planned on seeing her soon. He just...busy now. "Thank you." he said before going over to take a seat. Of course the first thing Sherlock starts out with is an uncomfortable subject for him as well. He was about to ask if this "fuck buddy" had hurt her in anyway, but he knew jumping to conclusions was a pet peeve of Sherlock's. "Did something happen between you two?" He asked, taking a sip of his tea.
Stranger: Sherlock took another sip of tea, staring out above Johns shoulder. "Hmm... We went and got a few drinks. A lot of drinks... You don't really need the details but..." She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Yes. Something happened. The result of which ended with me getting pregnant." she finally managed to get out. There. She had said it now. She looked over at Johns face, studying him for a reaction. She had no idea how he was going to react...
You: John's reaction....wasn't exactly good. His eyes widened, staring at the other as if he didn't believe her. Sherlock wouldn't lie about this though. Trying to take control again, John breathed out and set his tea aside. "That...is a problem." His fingers taped at his thigh, an obvious sign that he wasn't entirely calm as he tried to make himself be. He knew he needed to stay focused though. Looking at Sherlock, he said a lot more firmly, "You'll be okay, Sherlock. I'm here for you.....have you thought of what you want to do?"
Stranger: Sherlock sighed again, looking down at her cup. "Yes, and that just adds more to the problem. I want to keep it, but my life style is not cut out for children. Not to mention," she added bitterly. "When I told the father, who was always afraid of commitment, the bastard. He ran off to the states." She groaned and let her head fall back. "I don't know what to do, John." she said weakly.
You: John was quiet for a moment, looking down at his hands which we folded in his lap. It was a hard decision to make. There would be no quick solution to this though. "Well, you might need to make the decision to change your life style, Sherlock." John first suggested, "I know it's hard. But, with all you've done for New Scotland Yard, there's no reason you couldn't get a more stable job with them. Something that could work with being a single mother."
Stranger: Sherlock sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "I know. But it's so dull. I don't know a thing about being a parent and I'll probably be just as good as my own parents. Which is, not very." she looked up at John again, running a hand over her face. "I don't want the child to end up like me." she whispered. If the child ended up like herself she didn't know if she could live with that.
You: "It...wouldn't be entirely bad." John tried to comfort the other. But the world probably couldn't take another Sherlock anytime soon. He became quiet again, thinking hard about this now. It was obvious Sherlock wouldn't be a good parent, especially since Sherlock could hardly take care of herself. It would be hard finding someone else to take the baby, with the system now a days....unless? It was a bad move to even think about it without consulting Mary...but she always like Sherlock too...."What if Mary and I adopted your baby?"
Stranger: Sherlock stopped, biting her lip slightly. It wasn't a bad idea. She trusted John. Mary was okay. They would be good parents. But... There was something about the idea of someone else having her baby that didn't appeal to her. Even if it was John. She glanced at the time. She hadn't eaten since last night. God, at this rate she was going to kill the baby. She couldn't have that. She didn't have any food in the cupboards either. She sighed softly and bit her lip. "Are you expected home, or would you like to come to lunch with me?" she asked, looking over at her best friend.
You: It was just an idea. One John felt he would be entirely willing to get behind, but if Sherlock wasn't then...it was a slight bit awkward. He didn't say anything as the other didn't, and when she finally asked if he just wanted to grab something to eat, he wondered if he had overstepped his boundaries as a best friend. "Mary won't be expecting me back for awhile, I think. So, yes, lunch would be nice."
Stranger: Sherlock smiled. "Exvellent." she replied. She stood and grabbed her coat and scarf, grinning over at John. She hadn't had a nice meal with her best friend in simply ages. It would be a nice change of pace from the boredom she was in. "Coming, Watson?" she teased.
Stranger: *excellent
You: John couldn't help but grin. This moment was a lot like those moments long ago, when they both lived at 221B and would run off to solve cases. The man got up out of his seat and walked over to the other, taller, female. "After you, Miss Holmes." he said, gesturing to the door.
Stranger: Sherlock grinned back and raced down the stairs. "I'm off Mrs Hudson!" she called, stepping outside and hailing a cab. She slipped inside and have the cabbie the address for Angelos. She texted someone and put her phone away. "So how is domestic life? Dull as usual?"
You: John was quick to follow after the other, remembering just how much running he had to do before. It's probably what kept him from growing fat like most retired military men. Coming into the cab, John couldn't help but smile when Sherlock gave Angelo's address. It had been awhile since he had eaten there too. He raised an eyebrow at the text she gave but then rolled his eyes at her question. "It's nice, actually. Maybe a little dull to your standards, but it's still interesting in it's own right."
Stranger: Sherlock chuckled and started twiddling with her phone. "Yes. I suppose you're right." She persistently ignored Johns questioning look, keeping her eyes on her phone. "Definately not up to my standards." she smirked. Oh, how she had missed this. Things had never quite been the same since her return. Especially since John had found Mary. She had missed her chance.
You: "And everyone knows how you have very high standards." John added, grinning. He lapsed into silence for a moment, feeling quite awkward now. They had been talking about the possible fate of Sherlock's child and now it was like nothing strange had happened. Even like that John wasn't married. "Listen, Sherlock, I'm sorry if that offer was to straight forward." the man said, trying to apologize. "I just thought it was worth putting out as an option, is all."
Stranger: Sherlock looked over at him, her eyes unusually soft. "I know, John." she replied simply. "It's fine. Not a bad idea, really." she added. She smiled reassuringly and went back to her twiddling. "I just don't think I'll chose that option."
You: "That's fine then." John said, leaning his elbow on the door of the taxi, setting his head on his hand. He still felt uneasy about it, but supposed it wouldn't be worth dwelling on it. He didn't l want to ask what the other would plan to do, since it probably would take some time to decide on a good one. However, he was still curious. "Texting someone?"
Stranger: Sherlock smirked slightly. "You could say that." she chuckled. She sent off another text, recived one, and sent another. "Hmm, excellent." she murmured to herself. Her plan was working perfectly. "Teach that bastard a lesson." she muttered.
You: John raised an eyebrow at Sherlock. She was quite resourceful with anything she put her mind too, he was sure. Maybe if she gave herself a chance, she could be a good mom. "What are you doing?"
Stranger: Sherlock grinned. "Teaching someone a lesson on abandonment." she answered. "One does not simply leave Sherlock Holmes without earning their keep." she chuckled, pharphrasing a line from one of those fantasy movies John had shown her. "Any way. How's Mary?" she asked. She may have a slight grudge against the woman for getting to John first, but she made John happy.
You: John nodded. "Give him Hell." There was quite a few things he wouldn't mind doing to the son of a bitch. At Sherlock's question, John glanced up at Sherlock, wondering if she honestly wanted an answer. "She's doing fine. She's actually getting a promotion, which is great."
Stranger: Sherlock nodded, pursing her lips. She wanted to tell him. Tell them really, but she didn't know how to. Maybe she could get Mycroft to subtly say something or whatever. She could see the signs that Mary was unwell, though how unwell, Sherlock had no idea. If they hadn't noticed it, maybe it was fine. But lately the woman only seemed to be getting worse...
You: John smiled a bit, completely unaware that Sherlock was thinking about the tragedy that would befall him. "I know it doesn't sound interesting, but it's a job she really enjoys." He then grew quiet for a moment. It was wrong of him to have offered to take Sherlock's child before, for many reasons. He was sure Mary and him would be planning to have their own kids someday, although it wasn't exactly in the cards right now. He was sure Mary wouldn't mind adopting, but it was something they hadn't really discussed.
Stranger: Sherlock could see his thought process and sighed softly. She put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing slightly. "John. It's /fine/. I swear. Also..." She bit her lip slightly, trying to think of a way to say this. "I don't think Mary is quite as fine as you both think. Maybe you could... I don't know. Check up or something? Sorry. I just... Yeah. Sorry." she mumbled, removing her jeans and looking out the window.
Stranger: ((oh fuck. Removing her hand!! Her hand!! Damnit autocorrect!!))
You: ((LOL! I was trying to decipher it XD It's so late for me here))
You: John smiled a bit, knowing how the other caught on to what he was thinking. It quickly disappeared however when Sherlock mentioned the possibility of Mary being until. He turned to face the other, even as Sherlock looked away. He knew the other knew something though. She always did know what others did. "Sherlock...what do you think is wrong with Mary?" although he was desperately hoping this was one of the few occasions she was wrong.
Stranger: Sherlock bit her lip, wringing her fingers together. "I'm sorry, John." she mumbled. She hated upsetting John, but maybe there would be time to do something... Hopefully. Or maybe she had left it to late. "You know I'm not a doctor, I could be completely wrong but..." She swallowed thickly. "I think she has cancer..."
You: ((omigosh, I am so sorry, I really want to continue this but I have to go to bed now))
Stranger: ((do you want to continue on email or tumblr?))
