middle-earth meme: eight characters (7/8) — faramir
“I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”
I loved you, you know that right? I never told you I did, but you know that I did right? I mean you must have noticed. I travelled 214 miles just to see you. I had restless nights after nights just to speak to you. I introduced you to my dad. I sent you emails when your phone broke. I wrote you poems. I wrote you letters. I sang to you. I cried for you. I loved you. I love you. But it just wasn’t enough. All I wanted was for you to fight for me. -You know that right?

VIDEO: Living Under Israel’s Missiles
Four boys of the Bakr family were killed by a missile strike during last year’s incursion. Their surviving family members are still scarred from the attack.
More than anyone, children bear the brunt of regular Israeli military assaults on the Gaza Strip. During the 51-day war in the summer of 2014, 551 children were killed and 3,436 were injured. But these gruesome figures say little about the psychological state of the nearly 800,000 children who have survived the periodic bombing campaigns. After the final cease-fire that ended Israel’s Operation Protective Edge on August 26 of last year, UNICEF estimated that at least 425,000 Palestinian children in the besieged Gaza Strip require “immediate psychosocial and child protection support.”
[ The physical wounds of Gaza children might have healed, but they live with enduring psychological trauma ]

WE ARE THE GRINCH
the “dastardly” villainous characters of our childhoods just become more and more relatable every year we’re alive
It’s Christmas and I have to reblog this. The movie gets funnier and funnier every year and it baffles me how some don’t like it. It’s so relatable!
The Powerful Kylo Ren
“I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you! Flame of Udûn! Go back to the Shadow!”
Growing up, I’ve always felt I was from two different worlds. I was born in the US, but my parents were born in Vietnam, and they raised my sisters and I with the parenting methods of the Vietnamese culture. So much of me is because of what my parents experienced in this country. So much of me is because of the things my parents overcame so that I could have the luxury of having a dream. I see so much of me reflected in the people here, and so much of them reflected in me. I am so proud of being a Vietnamese-American.
