My Secret Santa this year was the lovely Psy on our Discord...again! I highly suspect she was aware of this for quite a while, but thankfully there was no telling what I was drawing exactly, muahahahaha!!
This is a horrific amalgamation of 4-5 of her prompts, several of which I cannot repeat here, so please just enjoy the resulting insanity. I know i sure did enjoy drawing it. There is actually one more prompt I really wanted to do, so we'll see what happens...
I recently unearthed a series of charcoal works I did during my very first ever life drawing class at the age of 15 (thanks mom for allowing it.) It was 1 one hour session a week over a month, total of 4, and these are 5, 10, and 30 minute portraits of our models. Relatively in order, I think...it has been 25 years lol. However, it's been long enough for even myself to see the progression.
Even for as little overall time as this class was, it was one of the biggest singular boosts in my confidence on drawing anatomy, and totally changed the way my art came out from then on. In that sense, my reason for posting these is to offer them up as inspo for studying these things in the first place, even if you're mainly doing anime or stylized art like I do.
Fundamentals really are worth it.

I didn't know Art Fight was a thing, but I do now and I snuck in a singular attack under the wire. Helps dust off the cobwebs. I really just like excuses to draw ridiculously poofy hair.

Do you have any plan of continue translating Slayers Special?
Yes! I actually have some work done on chapter 2-4, life has just been very busy lately. I am caretaker for my disabled mother and also work full-time, the pace of which has picked up for both. I promise I’ve not forgotten though.
How you got into Slayers and Anime/Animation in general?
I am ancient. Sailor Moon was the first time I was aware of anime as a thing in general. It aired on network TV when I was 10 or so ('95) and I watched the it religiously and couldn't understand why it kept looping back to the beginning halfway through the 2nd season (DiC hadn't yet licensed it.) Then the internet happened to me and I discovered the Save Our Sailors page, fansubs, and how to use my mother's credit card. As for Slayers, it was popular when I was 12-13 ('97-'98) and me and a bunch of idiots RPd the characters a lot in AOL chatrooms where we'd make fun of the Buffy fans for mistaking our room names. Some of the people I met during this time I am still friends with over 20 years later, one I even lived with in Florida for a bit. Most of my best friends are in some way connected to the fandom, so it's just become my happy place❤️

Had a lot of fun with this one though, not the least of which was inspired by Lina's new costume and those booty shorts. Booty shorts!

I bought a copy Rui's latest doujinshi from Comicket for myself, but it's currently on the slowboat from Japan because I'm cheap and don't like to pay for fast shipping, lol. A friend from the Slayers Discord was nice enough to get me some advance scans of the bonus comic from it, however. Thus I present to you this very genderfluid Slayers/Onimai crossover kinda thing!
