1st official day behind the chair after maternity leave! So many mixed emotions... So excited to do hair and see my clients and co-workers and so miss my morning with Everett. Thankful Zac is able to co-parent with me. I am coming back only 2 days a week with a limited schedule so I know many of my clients will stay with the stylist they have been seeing and I am 100% thrilled with that!!! I an officially starting my new balanced chapter of mom, small business owner, hairdresser and educator. I vow to keep a healthy balance so I can put my marriage, son and business/employees before over-working behind the chair. It was a productive Monday full of getting caught up at home and @crownbeautybar. Isn't it nice coming home after vacation? I must say it's taken a full 3 months of being home with Everett for me to actually feel okay about letting him lay and play without feeling like I need to be holding or interacting with him. I didn't expect to feel that way so I share to say every mom, baby and relationship is different so never compare. I absolutely love holding him and wouldn't listen to anyone who told me I would spoil him. Now it's so sweet to see him entertain himself and hear him coo happily from across the room while I work on my laptop or fold laundry. We have learned how much he enjoys change of scenery so we have several places around the house for him to sit and look out windows or check out his scenery. ✌🏼️ California!!! We are home after the craziest day of travel... LAX to Phoenix was delayed and our connection to Tulsa was canceled. God immediately reminded me to look for the helpers and be kind. Zac did an awesome job researching so we flew standby to Oklahoma City and arrived at 1:30am. Just in time for all car rentals to be closed. As we waited for luggage that would never arrive, a guy on our flight approached and said he overheard us trying to find a rental car to Tulsa where we left our car. He had a friend picking him up and offered for us to ride with him in his buddy's car back to Tulsa. We could tell immediately how kind and helpful Brett was so we loaded up, met his friend Jesse and took off! Everett slept the entire way and we had great conversation with the 2 kind entrepreneurs about business and life. We made it home at 5:45am and so blessed and thankful.
