Always remember that Susie has two hands
"The average heart event is a little sad" factoid is actually just a statistical error. The average heart event is not sad. Shane, who's heart events are incredibly sad, is an outlier and should not have been counted
There is this specific brand of daddy issues in fiction that I really like. Because the dad loves the kid but the kid has more complicated feelings on the matter. They did love their dad, at some point, they really did. But then something happened, something that led to anger and confusion and hurt and maybe its not the dads fault but in many ways it is. And their brother tries to understand, really he does, but he just doesn't get it because he wasn't there and the kid is just so angry. The dad loves the kid so much though and the misplaced anger he can deal with. If his kid hurts him he can deal with that because he loves them so much. But he refuses to let his kid hurt other people in their misplaced anger which only serves to make the kid angrier. Maybe that's why their not the favorite kid, maybe that's why they get replaced with a new shiner model. Because the dad really does love his kid. It isn't enough.
me after a minor inconvenience: i hope i get hit by a [remembers i’m anti car-centric infrastructure] pedestrian
Roman: Did you guys know in New Zealand they think Santa rides a surfboard instead of a sleigh?
Virgil: I think your lying
Roman: *confused sputtering* Why would I do that?
Virgil: Idk, it just feels like something you would lie about
Roman: I’m not the liar, Janus is. Janus, say a lie
Janus: I love being a part of this family
As an aroace who has a habit of "rationalizing my feelings", Logan absolutely hit this episode. He is at his most relatable and my autistic ass didn't even know that was possible

Kudos to the people who are here for the romance and the court drama, but if the entire show was just about Ji-yeong wandering around the Joseon era and entering nonstop cooking competitions, I'd be just as entertained.
