"Travelogue : Japan"
Somewhere only we know,
In that moment.
"Travelogue : Japan"
We had traveled roughly half a kilometre on foot before we abandoned the idea of arriving 'on time' for our target destination. One of the joys of this trip; time was only ever a guide, never a constraint.
Along its ivory walls we traced until the front gate invited us in. There was a temple service in progress, however, visitors were welcome to join in or observe. We tip toed politely in our bare socks and acknowledged the differences in the subject of our faiths. Nonetheless, the architecture, scenery and calmness of the Higashi Honganji (真宗本廟) instilled an urge to be utterly still.
We stayed until closing, left for dinner and to this minute I cannot recall where we were originally headed.

Turn your head, steady your eyes. Point and shoot. If it is significant to you, in that moment, does it matter whether they see what you see?
"Travelogue : Japan"
It's almost autumn here. There is zero resistance from nature and her acceptance of change shines brilliantly. Each to their own timing, each in their own skin.
Look up, and look often.
"Travelogue : Japan"
Dust on the dashboard, too many posts to catch up on. How long was I gone for?
Somewhere between Arima and Sannomiya, my mind sped through thoughts like the buildings the train ran past. Tall buildings, small cottages, a break in a valley between hills. You never really, truly travel alone, do you?
For a moment, the demands of next week or life at home seem much further away than the kilometers it took to get here. And it's wonderful.
