short story: i am stupid and confused

slightly longer story: google deleted the email i used to set up this account (?) (they literally didn’t give me a reason lmao just said no ur done) so now i can literally not get into the email that this specific account was created through lol. I still have access on my phone (obviously) but I can’t sign in on anything else because god hates me. so, i’ll be moving sometime shortly when I set up a new account or repurpose an old one or something.

I see people saying you can't teach a character that's fictional in this reality to shift here. Is that true? Like I wouldn't be able to go to a marvel dr and teach Thor to shift to this reality. Is this true?

Well- see, it’s complicated. (sorry.)

So- shifting realities. Your current reality/the sort of “timeline” that this one is in is theoretically constantly changing. However, it is always cohesively changing. Small changes occur and create branching realities. But our universe, or infinite set of universes this current version of reality resides in, has pre-established rules within the realms of what’s possible. We shift all the time. But only to places our subconscious seems “possible,” aka a set of i fire universes that will always follow the same rules and where we live the same lives.

So- for example, humans will not miraculously be able to fly tomorrow in this current reality. Because this universe has laws of physics that prevent that. But, an entirely different reality within a different set of universes- humans flying is already possible.

Our consciousness knows familiarity and typically only shifts us to adjacent realities with minor, insignificant changes every moment. Giving the appearance that we’ve never left our “original” reality. Taking us to reality after reality where it feels as though nothing has ever changed. Because that’s what the human consciousness does.

But the act of Shifting is changing the rules in a sense. Reaching out to farther, much different realities than our own, and connecting to our consciousness there.

So, could you bring Thor back to “this” reality, for example? No. Because he does not exist in this reality. There’s a common misconception that infinite reality = every reality. There are infinite realities where Thor exists. But this does not make up EVERY reality, including our own concurrent adjacent stretch of realities. He exists an infinite amount of times, but he is not everywhere, if that makes sense. The whole idea of infinity is truly too hard for us humans to comprehend.

YOU do not exist in EVERY reality. But you DO exist in INFINITE realities. Because there are, literally, infinite realities. There is no cap, no end. You might not exist in one specific one- but you exist in infinite others.

But- you could in theory teach Thor to shift to a similar adjacent reality that’s exactly the same as this one, one where he just simply does exist. It will not be your “original reality” by any means, since you’ve gone and “scripted” him into the reality. But it will have the same people, same problems, and will be extremely similar to how you perceive this one.

Shifting as far as infinite reality theory goes is very, VERY complicated to explain. Basically- anything is possible in the infinite, but not everything is possible in every instance. I’m sorry if this is more confusing than informational. I’m really trying here lol.

anyways say hello to the Feliteus! [Fuh-LEE-tea-US] A magical creature capable of shapeshifting between all members of the Feline family! From common house cats, to tigers and lions, even to other wizarding felines such as kneazles! Feli- refers to its nature as a feline-oriented creature, and the -teus refers to Proteus, the greek god of change/transformation. They’re exceedingly rare and highly sought-after, as Feliteus hair can be used in potions and even has roots in amateur wand-making (though Ollivander may scoff at the mere idea of that.) dating back to the seventh-century b.c. However, you’re much more common to find ‘mutt’ Feliteus breeds, as in the last centuries, they’ve begun to breed with common cats- very similarly to their cousin, kneazles. This has created a branching breed affectionately nicknamed “Change-Kats” by wizarding pet-owners. These half-breeds are capable of shifting between all known muggle cat breeds, and do so fairly regularly.

secondly, but certainly not any less important, Caniteus, [ca-NEE-tea-US] the canine-adjacent equivalent of the Feliteus. Able to change between all different known members of the Canine/Canidae family in pureblood form. These canines include, but are not limited to, wolves, foxes, coyotes, jackals, hyenas, common dogs, and wild dogs. Again, they’ve bred with modern domesticated dogs to create a new breed. However- they seem less magically inclined than their feline counterparts, as half-Caniteus species rarely exhibit magical traits. Though, notably- there have been circumstances where dog mothers who’ve fallen pregnant with a Caniteus’ offspring will have litters of between 15-25 pups at a time from various different breeds- with no extra harm to the mother. These pups will stay as these breeds for the rest of their lives, unlike their half-feline counterparts. In almost all cases, such pups are genetically pure-blooded, regardless of their mother’s breed at all.

I AM NOT AN ARTIST!!!

I draw for funsies occasionally and it’s really not that deep to me. But- in an effort to try to find a dress I’d realistically like to wear to the Yule ball- I found that nothing really had the colors, shape, and general design that I wanted. I’m nothing if not particular. Instead of doing the rational thing and just finding a dress I sort of like and saying it’s good enough, I’ve gone and drawn a mock-up of about what my Yule Ball outfit would look like entirely. Honestly it’s more fun than anything serious.

(If anyone makes fun of me I will fr cry so keep ur negative opinions to urself)

(I did use a person sketch model outline that came with the art program I used because that for real would have added a whole two hours for me to do myself and this whole thing was to design the dress anyway, so idc)

So the idea is a dark green dress, probably a silk-ish material. It begins at the mid-neck area and goes down into a sort of “spine” of a corset-style front, which is beaded with small silver accenting. Then there’s the floor-length skirt piece, very simple but flowy. I’m sure I’d need to wear a petticoat but that’s fine tbh. There’s also the same beading around the neckline if you look closely. The drawing is cartoonish in nature but it’s the general shape and idea of where everything is. The sleeves on the sides would be transparent (hence them in a different color) made of a dark green tulle. The makeup isn’t blended because I have no idea how digital art works, but the idea is a silver-green fade. Def sparkly. Green accent earrings bc Slytherins gotta represent house colors at all times. Also, peep the hair pins, specifically designed to be the three little stars that are drawn in the corner of the book’s pages! I thought it was cute idc. That locket also has significance and I don’t leave anywhere without it so I figured I’d add it for accuracy’s sake.

(Also I’d rather die than draw backgrounds. So. Purple it is.)

BUT THEN-

I was like “you know what else I don’t have a picture of? The specific way my wand looks in my head.” So then naturally, I needed to draw that as well. Again. I’m not an artist. You absolutely will find problems if you look hard enough because this is all just for fun. But- here’s my wand!

As you can see, it’s vine wood (same as Hermione’s, which I actually didn’t know until after I chose it!) with phoenix feather core. 11 1/2 inches because I ain’t no scrub. Mine’s a lighter vine material, some are darker, but vine is a vast wood type and has a bunch of colors and I wanted a lighter colored wand. The idea is that vines were actually carved into the wand as a decorative piece, with the leaves wrapping around the wand from the hilt to the tip. Realistically, it’d all be the same color. But for the art style it’s drawn in, the pop-out pieces are lighter to make them stand out against the frame of the wand. I had so much fun doing the details and it actually didn’t take me too long. If anyone’s bored and also has a HP dr I’d recommend designing your own wand like this because it’s so interesting to learn about wand components and designing something fun and specific to yourself!

(Aka Ophelia’s doing everything except for studying for finals 🤭 but it’s okay if i don’t pass i’ll simply just die so it’s really not that deep.)

okay i need to talk about it somewhere because i’m losing my mind.

niche dr has taken over my every waking thought but it’s the most adorable one ever omg. so, it’s a Lost In Space DR. for those of you who’ve never seen it, basically (the Netflix version) revolves around a broken family of five navigating their place in a space-colonist mission gone awry by the introduction of evil alien robots.

Set in the late 2040s, Estranged Patriarch John Robinson- a soldier who’d neglected his family in favor of service, now with them aboard the Resolute, a huge, long-distance space travel vessel with technology that can transport humans over four light years (currently 70k+ years away with modern technology) away in just around 3 months. Matriarch and honestly the family’s primary parent for the first half of season one, Maureen Robinson- a hyper-intelligent engineer who designed the personal spaceships (called Jupiters) that the colonists on board the Resolute call home. Oldest daughter Judy Robinson- a doctor, despite only being 18 years old as of season one, who enjoys running and harbors a bit of resentment towards her adoptive father John for leaving the family for service. Middle child Penny Robinson- often the “worst” of the family, but ultimately proves her worth time and time again by thinking up creative ways to solve hard problems, she is emotional and compassionate, while ultimately being less nerdy and know-it-all than the rest of her family, and she also enjoys writing and authors a book based off of their travels. And, youngest and only son, Will Robinson. A child with issues regulating his anxiety, with a heart maybe too big for his body, he rescues and befriends an 8 foot tall killer robot that he tames and helps learn the intricacies of humanity and friendship. Additionally to the family there are three additional main characters. Robot, Will’s best friend- who attacked the Resolute and resulted in the family getting “Lost In Space,” who changes his ways and does anything to protect his friend and newly found family. Dr. Smith, real name June Harris, a criminal stowaway who’s running from her past and will do anything to keep herself ahead, but ultimately has a heart and learns to do the right thing when it comes down to it. And, finally, mechanic Don West, a former orphan who’s made several routine trips to the colony on Alpha Centauri, the planet the Resolute was headed towards when it got attacked, but he abandons his post to save himself when the initial attack happens- though, he has a heart of gold and serves as a bit of comedic relief throughout- as he adopts a pet chicken he affectionately names Debbie that he holds very near and dear.

They’re all so unique and interesting just in CANON, let alone seeing them as rounded actual people in a dr. I’m scripting myself still as a teenager as a sort of maintenance/crew member on the Resolute who befriends the Robinson children (Namely Penny) and adventures with them through deep space. It’s honestly fun and lighthearted and i absolutely adore space. Also, Adoptive Father Don West <3 because i love him more than words. Honestly a space exploration dr is kind of the best idea ever personally and I didn’t want to do it alone, so this universe makes perfect sense for me and i’m falling more and more in love with it all the time.
