Dozens of wildfires are scouring California this summer in what may go down as the worst fire season on record.The Rocky Lake Fire, north of San Francisco, chewed through 54,000 acres on Sunday, up from 27,000 acres the previous evening. As of Monday morning, roads remained closed and more than 12,000 people were ordered out of their homes, NBC News reported.

It was announced this week that this has been the hottest June on record, smashing warm temperature records not only for the month, but for the first half of the year as well. Global temperatures for the first six months of the year were the warmest on record.

This morning more than 150 twins from across the country rode on tandem bikes in Central Park to promote VH1’s new reality TV show, ‘Twinning’. The shows airs next week and features 12 sets of twins competing for the grand prize of $222,222.22. VH1 tried to break the Guinness World Record for the largest tandem bike parade today but was unsuccessful – adjudicator Philip Robertson said not enough people crossed the finish line!
