hello! i'm fran, and this is my blog for shifting and stuff like that. i'm an adult, androgyne (they/them), bisexual, and taken. iâm neurodivergent and have mental illness but iâd rather not get into it.
i haven't shifted just yet, but i've had some near-misses!
i used to be a pretty good lucid dreamer, but i lost the skill a while ago with med changes, so im trying to get that back as well.
the DR iâm working on right now is BNHA-based. i have another few in mind (especially a magical girl DR!), but iâd like to focus on shifting first before i do too much planning.
apologies in advance for being so vague on info, both on shifting and my personal life. i have pretty bad paranoia so sharing personal stuff is very difficult for me.
ask box is open, anon is on (for now...) i already know iâm cringe, so trolling and rudeness will just be deleted. iâm not great at socialization, so sorry in advance to anyone who tries to talk to me. if you'd like me to not interact with you for whatever reason, let me know or just block me. i wonât get mad at you, no worries. send an ask if you need something in particular tagged!
have a nice day and best of luck with your shifting journey! â„
been busy with irl stuff for a while, but im thinking of shifting today or tomorrow~
also, iâve gotten to about a once-weekly success rate with lucid dreaming, sometimes twice a week if iâm lucky! this is without even trying a specific method like WBTB either. theyâre usually pretty short, because theyâre close to when i wake up in the morning, but itâs definitely progress!
if you say that shifting is just lucid dreaming, but you donât even know what a reality check is, i donât care about your opinions on this matter anymore <3
as a small correction: in rare circumstances, you can sometimes pass a reality check in a lucid dream, but youâre very unlikely to pass more than one! itâs always worth trying a few extra checks, especially since they take so little time.
that said - once you get into the practice of recording your dreams, it gets really obvious when you were dreaming in retrospect, even if you thought it was totally real in the moment! time is funky, you end up in new locations without knowing how you got there, etc etc. itâs just not the same as shifting. even the most talented lucid dreamers don't wake up having had week/month-long experiences where they had all five senses and everything followed their script - thatâs just now how dreams work.
Hey! Good morning, afternoon or night! Glad to see you on shiftblr!
Youâre trying to shift today? Thatâs so cool! I wish you the best of luck.
Taking a break from shifting? Awesome. Iâm glad youâre taking care of yourself!
Just doing some shifting research? Learning is great! Hopefully you find what youâre looking for!
Scripting a new DR on a whim? Make it a good one! You can never have too many.
You are always progressing in your shifting journey. No matter what path you take, what methods you use, how often you attempt, you are always getting closer to your DR.
Also⊠drink some water and brush your teeth. Love ya. <3
its not what youâll do if you shift, its what youâll do when you shift.
itâs not trying to shift, its shifting.
itâs not what you hope will happen, its what youâre going to do and have already done - we shift every moment.
now go out there and shift!! i love u all /p
Theres going to be a Super Pink moon on April 26th! its supposed to reach peak illumination at 11:33 EDT and its apparently its gonna be 222k miles away from earth. aka, a FUCK ton of angel numbers and FUCK ton of good energy. take advantage of this and try shifting that day!
you can do this, you're going home soon! i believe in all of you and i am sending the best vibes!
i had a lucid dream the other night and tried to shift in it! it was more successful than my usual attempts in that i was easily able to find a âportalâ (mirror in this case) and repeat affirmations, visualize where i was going, etc - but i just teleported to another place in my dream instead of my WR :(
iâm hoping i can do something with the full moon monday - it wonât be the best day for me shifting-wise because of scheduling conflicts but im gonna try to work it in
i remember reading a method - i donât remember if it was here or reddit - âyou should set a date for when youâll shift, and then try not to worry about it - just intend youâll wake up in your DR, focus on believing it, etc, and since you believe itâll happen, it will.â so i tried that on the 3rd.
considering the tone of the post, you can guess i didnât shift, lol. id be way more excited. but i had a dream about shifting. and it gets weird and woo so im gonna stick a readmore on it
it was lucid, sort of, and really vivid - in the dream i was somewhere close to my DR, but not quite. like, my DR is in japan, and i was sure in japan, but i was the city i used to live in irl, not where i was trying to go. other elements of things i was carrying were closer to my irl self too. and i was passing reality checks - which isnât uncommon for me, even in lucid dreams, but overall the dream seemed more vivid than usual. i could feel pain, for one, which is... sure a thing. at some point, the other people hanging around in the dream seem to notice me and seemed kind of hostile, so i got freaked out and ran off.
one woman, seeming to appear from no where, managed to catch me, and pulled me into another âsettingâ, like a little pocket universe. there wasnât much there, but she had me pinned to some sort of couch. she started to talk to me about shifting. she seemed pretty... frustrated with me? i wish i could remember what she was saying, but it left my mind almost as soon as she said it. i know she mentioned a very specific part of my script - essentially âthe universe knows my limits, even if things get scary or painful or what-have-you, it never goes past what i can handle mentally.â iâm not sure if she was saying that was a good or a bad move lol. i think she was asking me if i was serious about shifting in general, and i told her i was sure.
that was another thing i read somewhere - fear is sometimes your mind asking if youâre sure. itâs an important signal, sure. but it doesnât always mean youâre doing something wrong, or dangerous.
she seemed to accept that, though still a little skeptical, and she let me go. then, i âwoke upâ into another dream, where essentially i was physically browsing the internet (a common theme in my dreams) looking at information of this entity. she called herself Jane GZC - the last initials being words i forgot, but the âresearchâ i did said that while the initials stayed the same, the name changed from person to person. she apparently showed up to many people who were researching conspiracies, or certain spiritual topics, and often in dreams. a lot of the sources seemed freaked out by her, or thought she was evil, but i didnât think so. i thought i wanted to talk to her again. near the end of the dream there was a clip of her, which started inhuman but quickly faded to a woman with dark tan skin and red curly hair. she didnât look like that when i met her, but again, most people in my dreams donât really have too many distinguishing features unless im specifically looking for them.
uhhhh. so idk what to make of that, in general. it could have just been a weird dream. but it felt kind of meaningful, and while i canât find any information on her irl, it did kind of feel like she wasnât just one of my dream characters? maybe i got prodded by some sort of weird spiritual entity?? it would not be the first time tbh, though ive never had one poke me in dreams. she hasnât shown up since then, and frankly gave me no useful advice (though maybe if i hadnt forgotten everything she said by the time i âwoke upâ into that second dream) but idk. i donât have any good conclusion here. it just seemed relevant, somehow.
Instead of seeing a successful shift as fully moving your conscious from one reality to the next, try to lesson the load by focusing on 1 sense at a time.
We tend to put of a lot of emphasis on just our sight but a lot of us have experienced shifting symptoms of touch, scent, and hearing. Those are all amazing steps in your shifting journey and you shouldnât lesson their importance.
Break things up and take things one at a time, once you gain control of 1 sense, the others may become easier to grasp.
hereâs a few lucid dreaming tips iâve figured out thru research and personal trial & error. none of these are particularly ~exclusive~, but theyâre ones i donât usually see in beginnerâs guides:
as soon as you realize youâre lucid, start touching things around you. the floor, walls, objects, even people - just start paying close attention to your surroundings, where things are in relation to you, what they look/feel/sound like, etc. itâll make the dream more vivid, and decrease the likelihood of you waking up. if you feel yourself start to wake up, repeat this step!
talk to dream characters. if theyâre cooperative, ask them for advice. on lucid dreaming itself, personal matters, whatever. you might get nonsense, but you might be able to get information about as directly as your subconscious as you possibly can, so itâs worth a shot!
go in with a plan. while youâre awake and can think clearly, decide what you want to do in a lucid dream. make it simple! remember that a lucid dream doesnât mean you instantly have all your conscious mental facilities, especially while youâre new. go over this goal when youâre doing reality checks and before you go to sleep so you can remember it even when youâre dazed and distracted by whatever plot your dream has come up with.
iâm still testing this, but you can sort of do basic âscriptingâ in a dream by having strong intent, especially beforehand. again, especially for beginners, dream control can be really hard! but you can shortcut it by thinking of consistent âpowersâ you might have in dreams, and solutions to common problems. they donât need to be ârealisticâ or make sense in real life, but they have to be something that makes sense to you and you can clearly visualize. ex) âi can use any door as a portal to shiftâ is an obvious one for people using lucid dreaming as a method.
since this is a shifting related blog: try lucid dreaming for its own sake, too. for one, the more experienced you are at lucid dreaming, the easier youâll find shifting through them to be. but for two - i know the typical response to skeptics in the community is âno, shifting isnt lucid dreaming, its REAL and BETTERâ but seriously, lucid dreams are also really cool and fun and worthy of effort on their own! take time to enjoy them as more than just a stepping stone. itâs worth it, i promise.
OKAY!!!! This is super detailed and helpful!! Iâve gotten really lazy with my reality checks lately but this is a super good lucid dreaming post!!!

iâm still on break! buuuut i figured iâd update with the fun news that i managed a pretty solid lucid dream last night! i learned a few cool tricks to keep myself in the dream in the process, which iâll write up in a separate post in a moment.
but also, after a bit of testing things and fooling around, i then tried to shift in the dream (because, well, why not?) i looked for a door i could use as a portal and easily found one, but there were a few dream characters hanging around in the room too and they wanted to know what i was doing. i didnât know what else to do, so i told them the truth. both seemed excited to come along and i was like eh, sure, why not. i was talking to one in particular, and asked her name - because if we were going to be going together, it seemed reasonable to ask - and she started getting really cagey about it. then i noticed she happened to look a lot like my DRself (sidenote: i rarely see faces or even identifying features in my dreams, so it wasnt unusual to not notice any of this before.) realising it was probably a good idea that i could recognize her and also that she was coming with me, i just went âoh! oh. well uh. sure keep your secretsâ and let her through the door first. then i went - i stopped for a moment, thinking i should clarify my intent, maybe do some breathing or counting or whatever, but when i tried to close my eyes in the dream it felt like i would wake up, so i gave up and just went through the door.
what was on on the other side of the door was related to my DR, at least, in a vague bootleggy sort of way, but i definitely didnât shift. AND i knew the moment i walked through that i hadnât succeeded, which is actually progress! you see, back when i first started learning about shifting, i had a lucid dream where i thought i shifted, and that made me lose control of the dream and pass reality checks that, upon waking, it was easy to see iâd actually failed. so having the discernment to realize whats really happening and not lose lucidity is improvement that ill absolutely take
Just from looking at different shifters journeys it seems sleep methods are best for beginners because together with âbeginners luckâ (The theory that beginners tend to have better luck shifting due to the fact that they are less stressed over successfully shifting, giving them more of a chance to let go of their CR with out added pressure.) and the familiarity with just falling asleep like regular, Theyâre more relaxed than a person who may be trying for weeks/months. Beginners using sleep methods arenât over analyzing symptoms or angel numbers through out the day, theyâre just giving it a shot.
This leads me to believe that if youâve been trying for a while you may have better luck doing awake methods. This may seem counter active but if you are someone who has done all the research in the world and has tried various methods, you may be overthinking things and youâre past just letting your subconscious shift while asleep. (this does not go for the lucid dreaming method since I view that one as a half sleep/half awake method since youâre âconsciousâ in a lucid dream) An awake method is more mentally taxing. Youâre forcing yourself to stay focused on the task at hand unlike just allowing yourself to fall asleep. (Now of course, I understand that if you have an attention issue things may not apply the same way so please donât think I mean this as a blanket statement.) My personal belief is that my subconscious doesnât exactly know how to do it all alone, it requires my focus and time to help it along the way. I tend to stress out more when Iâm told to âjust relaxâ. If Iâm focusing on a task at hand, I donât have time to over think so in turn, I relax.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert and I have no proof that this is true, Iâm simply speculating on what Iâve seen so far. Everyone is different and Iâm not saying a sleep method wonât work for you, but if youâre like me and over think a lot, it may apply to you.
TLDR: beginners may find sleep methods easier cause theyâre more relaxed and someone who has been trying for awhile may need something more mentally taxing in order to focus and let go better instead of over analyzing every minute. Being told to âjust relaxâ can stress people out further.
felt like i was doing pretty well with tonightâs attempt! ... up until my cat jumped on me. ah well. iâm thinking ill take a break for a while
unreality & mental illness cw under the read more
reason being. when i got up, i felt like this reality is a little different. like itâs just slightly the wrong color, or something. i have in my scripts that every time i try to shift, ill get a certain percent better at shifting, lucid dreaming, and such - it seems like a good step, right? but does that mean iâm jumping to another CR? what if it is slightly different, in ways i didnât âscriptâ?
i think i managed to do that a while ago, when a few weeks ago, i tried to shift to a reality where my chronic pain was less - i didnât think it would work, i was just upset and in pain and testing a random guided meditation (that i didnt even think was very good!) but remarkably, since then, my pain has been less. and iâve gotten quite a few little mandela effect type things - where some small detail has changed and everyone around me says its always been that way. like, my friendâs apartment now has a door in front of the staircase. that was not there before. i donât even know why youâd put a door there. but its very clearly there now. it doesnât change anything, really, but its Different.
the thing is, it could just be coincidence, still. or psychosis creeping up again! i am not known as the paragon of mental stability, after all. who knows! who fucking knows. but i donât wanna fuck with it too hard, and some time to recup and think from different perspectives would probably do me good
