SOMETHING I REALLY NEED TO TALK ABOUT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF REIGEN AND EKUBO BECOMING ONE IN THE FINALE AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT. OKAY!? OKAY

okay, so we both know how Reigen refers to him as Mob while Ekubo does so as Shigeo right? they both see two different sides of him and, by Ekubo passing away in the divine tree arc, that meant there was no one there to see a part of Mob that was very important, with Reigen only seeing one side of him.

Reigen saw him as Mob. not Shigeo, but Mob. he himself said he didn't know how much Mob had been going through and he didn't understand all he had been going through because he truly had no idea. he'd seen that part of Mob a bit, yes, but never understood or acknowledged it. likewise, Mob had seen all of Reigen but only acknowledged the side of him that had taught him well, not the side of him who had manipulated, extorted and deceived him for years. the other part of Mob, however, did see that.

Ekubo saw him as Shigeo. their first confrontation was a psychic power showdown, so he naturally gravitated towards seeing that side of his psychic abilities and the full extent of their potential and how bad it could get. he knew about what he'd gone through if not fully, but still acknowledged it and saw him as a friend.

the importance of Reigen and Ekubo coming together in that moment is because they're both one, and they're seeing him for ALL OF HIM. they both acknowledge all of Mob, seeing what the other had seen of him and accepting it, and it's so good. in a way, Reigen and Ekubo are completing each other in this scene to take care of Mob and MAN. it's amazing to see

i just found this video from 2013 (before the anime even aired) i think it was made as a promotion for the release of the third volume of Mob Psycho. the animation is pretty cool and there are some scenes that don’t appear in the manga either

TY!! also, THIS LOOKS WONKY BUT he's supposed to be doing karaoke. But he's absolutely belting a rock song at the top of his lungs and shredding his vocal chords while bursting bystanders ear drums and sending every person over 45 into cardiac arrest. (He likes rock, I think)
