Queen bed of my own design in Ambrosia Maple with Red Oak decking. This will be joining the sparse (but growing) collection of my own work in my home. The headboard sits at a slight dramatic angle to accommodate a more comfortable posture while sitting up in bed to read. Prior to this piece, I had not made any furniture for 18 months. About three weeks ago, I wrapped on an order for 15 modular craft booths headed to @dairyblock in Denver. Today, they are in use by @fetchmarkets and I think they look exactly like the mock up. White Oak solar kiln stacks. After being cut, lumber needs to dry out over a period of time. Us wood folk call this “curing”, and it is done to dramatically reduce the internal moisture content of the lumber. Wood holds an incredible amount of moisture. If that moisture leaves the wood too quickly, the wood is likely to warp or split open. If it leaves too slowly, or the lumber isn’t allowed to fully dry, leaving the warping or splitting to occur after the lumber has been made into something.
