Next up are the shoulder leathers - dark green, leafy pattern, probably not extending too far past my shoulders on the sides, but adding a nice visual line esp in the back over the shoulder blades and creating a window between leather and neckline. At least, that’s the plan. We’ll see how it goes 🍁💫😅

imo, one of the best ways to get some insight into an artist’s process is to look at their sketchbook, so here are some highlights from my many many sketches for my Keyleth cosplay. Kindly ignore my notes in the first few, those were very early in the process before I had any idea what I had signed myself up for. But anyway, this is a little look at my vision for the finished cosplay. Things have changed along the way, but this is where my ideas start.

The “leather” chest piece is done! At least, for now.

Some alterations need to be made to make it fit better and I may add some more ornamentation, but for now, I’m pretty happy with it. While I wait for inspiration for that though, imma get a jump start on that godforsaken mantle so I have a chance of finishing it by this time next year 🍃

Keyleth’s dress is done! The bodice will have to be altered a bit and I have plans for another sheer skirt layer to give it a richer orange color, but this part is finished. For this I used McCalls pattern #M7765, one of Yaya Han’s dress patterns. First time using boning, first time using invisible zippers, lots of firsts with this one. It does not breathe at all and it was real fun trying it on in my poorly air conditioned apartment lmao 😅

Up next is the chest armor piece and after that, prolly the spire of conflux? Who knows, not me 💫
