I have always been on the lookout for journals that are affordable, locally available and with great quality. @zimo.ph has given me a beautiful Zimo Journal to review. I was like "wow" when I did the unboxing, and now I am considering going back to a thread bound cahier size! So lets take a look! COVER: _____________________ Hard cover, PU textured leather, similar to LT1917. With a simple blind embossed logo on the front. It only comes in black at the moment, and hopefully more colors will be available soon. SIZE: _____________________ 5.25 x 8.25 inches, Cahier size, which is slimmer than the LT1917. OTHERS: _____________________ • 192 pages, 100 gsm acid-free ivory paper, dotgrid sheets. Pages are whiter than LT1917. • It only comes in dotted format. Dots are darker than in the LT1917. • Lays flat, thread bound. • With elastic closure, a spacious expandable inner back pocket and one ribbon bookmark • No page numbers, no pen loop, no perforated pages. • Price: P799.00 ( roughly $16.00) PEN TEST: _____________________ •The paper is smooth, and works great with gel pens, fineliners upto 0.8mm, tombows and mildliners. It has minimal ghosting. •I tested a few fountain pens of various nib sizes and brands. I was surprised that it handled a 1.1 nib with minimal ghosting, I have to note though that it feathered a little but barely noticeable. Finer nibs performed well but with bit of toothiness as expected. MY THOUGHTS: _____________________ I am impressed! As a user of various pens, brush pens and highlighters, Zimo Journals is a good option that is locally available with great quality and minimal design. For a fountain pen user, as long as a bit of feathering does not bother you, this notebook is a good choice as well. Also, the dots are darker than most dotted notebooks I have tried. It's fine for me, for some it may be too dark for their liking. Grab yours now! It's free SF within the 🇵🇭 at a limited time only!
