Intro post and FAQ

Hello I'm Shay I like to make pokemon edits. This blog is still a wip I will edit stuff as i go. The aim is to edit pokemon's artwork to make mons with bad (as in indistinguishable from the originals) more visible

FAQ:

Who are you? My name is Sy but i also go by Shay specifically for pokemon edits. My main blog is @sybeez and I used to be mod Shay in PCS

When are requests open? When I feel like it lol

Can you edit ___ to look like ___ I only plan on making shiny edits for now, but i might make other edits like i did on PCS down the line. For now the answer is no. Also i dont think I wanna draw accessories over the art anymore so thats also smt i wont do once I do open these

What do you consider a 'bad shiny'? Mostly mons that barely change anything from the original (garchomp), got desaturated at one point (gengar) or the older shiny was better (articuno). I'll also edit shinies that are widely disliked ONLY if i personnaly don't think its colors go well together (honchkrow). I will not edit shinies to make them a different color entierely, since I pull my sources from their older sprites; or shinies i think are funny like togepi's line. Simply get better are differentiating them /j

What do you use to make edits? Clip Studio Paint and gradient maps (wearing a big shirt that says I <3 gradient maps)

Can I use your edits as a profile pic? yae 👍 Credit is optional but appreciated. Also my only no is for café shiny shaymin bcs its already mine lol (and i just have a deep connection w shaymin in general)

What's a non-food pokemon you would eat Ash's Pikachu in a 'Saturn devouring his son' way. I have personal beef w that rat. Other pikachus are fine ig

i kinda agree tbh. instead of just making the horns green i decided the whole pokemon would be slightly orange with pinkish horns

i wanted to turn my spmd team into full on ocs for artfight but i didnt wanna draw the pokemons from scratch. so i just edited on top of the oficial artworks lol

made it fit w the pre evo since they started w such a cool blue and then BAM neon yellow

actually started by editing the neon yellow version to make it not ugly before i decided to make the pre evo and realising they look so different

Could you recolor piplup’s shiny? I have a hard time telling it from the original.

I love butterfree but never liked it’s shiny, can you do something with it?

brought back the yellow wings cuz it looks better than the red-ish ones and actually looks like some real butterflies species. also i noticed the eyes n feet were hue shifted all at once but i ididnt like em so i hue shifted them in the other direction so now the eyes go from red to pink and the feet from blue to green (it looks more turquoise than i wanted but thats fine i think)

also u didnt ask for it but i also edited the gmax form for fun :] (could only find a low quality version so editing the wings was a pain rip)
