A message towards adults on tumblr
This site is 13+
Therefore, 13 year olds are allowed on here
There are also specific rules that say you shouldn’t bully minors or show them inappropriate content in any way
Stop being assholes to kids
Stop telling them to grow up or show them inappropriate images with the intention of making them uncomfortable
If you remember being a kid, it was crappy and stressful
So don’t make things worse for them by treating them like shit
If you have a problem with 13 year olds being on this site, talk to Tumblr about it don’t flip out at minors and try and bully them off the site.
Quit
Being
Assholes
to
Minors
Tumblr was not made for you only. Tumblr will not change their guidelines and kick off hundreds and hundreds of users just to fit your sole needs. Those that are younger than you have just as much of a reason for being on here as you do so stop acting high and mighty by saying that Tumblr is for adults because Tumblr’s rules say otherwise.
I generally agree, but if a 13+ year old is being an absolute dick and then hiding behind the fact that they are a ~minor~ then they deserve to be treated like a dick. Age doesn’t prevent you from consequences of your actions.
I get that, but that's not what this post is about. This post is specifically about adults going after minors, making them feel unsafe, and trying to get them to leave this site. Which is something I still see a lot of.
What you mentioned is for something else entirely.
Please do not detract from this post.
That goes for everyone that has reblogged this saying 'ok but some minors are ________'. You're entirely missing the point. This post is to bring attention to the way many adults on tumblr act towards minors just for being minors.
Minors' points in arguments have specifically been said by some adults to not have any validation because of their age. Their complaints have been pushed aside. They've been told to get off this site if they aren't 'mature' enough to handle certain things like being called names or having their own experiences invalidated.
Again, I get what you're trying to say, but that's not what this post is a about.
