anyone else feeling like Cells At Work s1e11 rn
Earlier today, I came across something do with Cells At Work for the first time in a while, and it ends up being a video (linked here for context - massive content warning for mentions for mental health struggles, hospitalisation and suicide/suicidal ideation) about how the mangaka of the original series - Akane Shimizu - and others faced a lot of workplace abuse while working with the publisher Kondasha.
As someone who throughly enjoyed Cells At Work, I feel so bad for Shimizu and I'm so glad she's doing a lot better now (both in her wellbeing and creatively).
What would be your interpretation of a cb roleswap au?

t!dendritic (dendritic cell turned into a helper t cell) i feel like he wouldnt be As openly aggressive as the cb helper t we're used to ... i feel like t!dendritic would be a lot more composed but still just as professional, i dont think that he would Physically take action Against d!helper or anything Like that .... t!dendritic is just as Assertive and forward as he has to be with no unnecessary emotions brought into work ... it would be cool if the two of them wore green ties too
d!helper (helper t cell swapped to be a dendritic cell) i feel like he would still have his angry personality, constantly protesting against t!dendritic about how he should be Doing things differently (kind of a way to parallel the actual universe) but hes just a lot more aggressive about it... but then again he still has to Serve under t!dendritic which is part of his frustration -> since i already think that cb helper t on his own Has inferiority issues deep down which he buries and piles feigned narcissism on top of, the swap au d!helper would have a similar complex

Decided to try and watch Cells at Work, since I haven't watched any series in a long while. The first episode is so absolutely unserious and I love it. The amount of background details are so fascinating to look at too.
Seeing the human body and envisioning it in such a way, watching the thought put into the worldbuilding. I'm only on the first episode, all I could think of was 'I love artists so much.'

Cells at work is a cute little show. Handy way to learn about how the human body works.
Makes me feel more endeared towards my own body as well as the hard working cells the vessel has.
Especially the hardworking cells the vessel has. Due to its severe anemia, I imagine the red blood cells as being smaller than average and only being able to carry small little boxes of O^2
Any ideas on the event when a dendritic cell gets activated? I'm aware that the adult dendritic cells get drunk. Would that mean that the kids like dc from CaW Neko get some sort of sugar rush when they're activated? And how would the helper t cells handle their respective activated partner?
IVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS TOO Ohmy gosh... the kid thing is such a good Idea though Ahehehe i like it a lot.
my idea is That depending on the dendritic cell (adult Dendritic cell in this case), theyre all Different kinds of drunk (?) if that makes sense, like the different stereotypes Of drunk that you see in media all the time
the og dendritic is the stereotypical giggly drunk ... He'd obviously lower his regards for other cells since he's so Quick to releasing a bunch of cytokines at a time so i believe he'd also Get more playful and teasing with og helper t LMFAOO ... Helper t would probably accompany dendritic Until he comes down from his activated state ... probably getting embarrassed with how Dendritic's acting (i also think the og dendritic would get more Affectionate too ... just a freak)
i think friends dendritic and cb2 dendritic Would have a high tolerance so they wouldnt get "drunk" perse... we know friends dendritic when activated just feels rejuvenated and not tired so it would be safe to assume cb2 would follow a similar pattern. i think friends helper t probably wouldnt do toooo much at the beginning but if it gets worse he'll make an announcement to go find a lactic acid bacillus to help ,, i think cb2 helper t cell would just try to handle it as quick as possible
cb1 dendritic... im kind of not sure but i feel like he'd be a "crying" drunk ... he just becomes more sensitive and feels every emotion really really deeply ... but i feel like as a consequence of that he'd work WAYYYY more efficiently and probably work on his own accord without cb helper t saying anything first ... which is cb helper t's worst Nightmare -> he'd probably try to eliminate exposure to polysaccharides but if dendritic does get activated, once hes done his job, cb helper t probably puts him in a closet or something until he calms down LMFAOOO Yep. tied to the chair until you've reflected on what youve done (cb dendritic is the one whos crying In the bathroom at a party)
hiv dendritic would have his inhibitions LOW LOW when activated like... he seems like the drunken singing type to me which would throw off hiv helper t a lot whos a bit more serious ... hiv dendritic would definitely fluster hiv helper t quite a bit though i feel like LMFAOO then once its died down hiv dendritic Apologises profusely to hiv helper t for what he did
illegal dendritic seems like she'd get clingy but also sleepy super fast when activated so she only has a short time to be activated before shes out of sorts ... she'd obviously do more work but i think illegal helper t would just let her do What she'd like and not really Interfere, just watching until illegal Dendritic falls asleep (and then Illegal helper t brings her somewhere she can Sleep peacefully) i also had the Idea of the drugs in illegal making the immune cells kind of sluggish to a certain capacity but since i havent read illegal its a hard call for me to Make... thats why these are all headcanons Bleh
i dont know the nature of Langerhans cells that well But i feel like (In terms of drunk) lady dendritic would Just mellow out and become more relaxed, not so hardheaded and everything ... lady helper t would probably just go along with it finding it endearing (but still, not sure what an activated langerhans cell would do)
not at work dendritic would probably just become really sloppy ... like trying hard not to stumble over and slurring his words (its like an extended version of og dendritic) i think despite activated dendritic cells doing good, not at work helper t would probably try to keep him away from everyone else just so no one else witnesses dendritic's behaviour ... im not sure why i feel that way it just feels right
neko dendritic would have a sugar rush kind of effect, but also mixed with effects of catnip since he's a cat... neko helper t would just be a really terrible babysitter probably LMFAOO just watching Him to make sure he doesnt get into much trouble but since neko dendritic is so different when hes activated its kind of a Shocker for neko helper t... it puts him off
obviously in the case for all of these dendritic cells they would still spread cytokines and work better to an extent!!! OKI thank you soMuch for your ask its so good... someday i wanna draw all the dendritic cells having some sort of party... activation party!!!
