TOURNAMENT MASTERPOST
propaganda under the cut
Ruby Sunday: watches the man who traumatized her get a happy ending while being gaslit and abandoned by her best friend, but it's all okay in the end because she has a baby brother to take care of.
Belinda Chandra: starts off strong-willed, ready to challenge the Doctor on his bullshit, but completely loses it over the course of the series to the point where she barely blinks an eye at the man she said was "dangerous" torturing a man, then ends up locked in a box for most of the finale and eventually has her entire life rewritten to become a single mother.
The Rani: entire plan revolves around the fact that she's mad that Time Lords can't have babies anymore.
Anita: shows up six months pregnant because she was so broken-hearted by finding the Doctor with someone else that she hooked up with the first guy she met.
Kate Stewart: nearly loses her goddamn mind because her boyfriend that randomly spawned into existence died.
And people actually think that RTD would do a better job writing the 13th Doctor than Chibnall did?
these + the war between the land and sea suddenly turning Shirley into "Mrs. Bingham" (despite Shirley being a doctor), showing her hand with her ring almost as much as they showed her and the first proper one-on-one discussion we see between kate and shirley is dominated by the talk of shirley's husband? yeah RTD needs to stay away from writing women
They could've made the TARDIS disability-friendly without making the ship a Car Showroom Ramp City. You know what would've been cooler? The ship accommodating in real-time changing and shifting architecture, stairs transforming into an ramp for that particular person. The TARDIS is alive, show me that! They definitely had the Disney money to show me that. And I'm saying this as someone who is disabled in irl, I would be so touched if the TARDIS did something like this for me like all for me? Oh thank you lovely.
IT WAS LITERALLY THERE I WOULD KILLL FOR SHIRLEY AS A COMPANION.
Yeah and it was all for nothing because they didn't make the set accessible to access LOL. As a wheelchair user it was the fucking coolest thing to see the ramp...until it became obvious they were never going to let Shirley (or anyone) use it. It became very clear that it was performative only. The TARDIS set would never actually allow a wheelchair user to be on the set, as you had to climb incredibly steep steps to get into it. Was a real shame because Shirley in the TARDIS would have been absolutely incredible.

I wish thirteen couldve met Shirley. I feel like they’d be BFFs
i love finding out what degrees my mutuals have. like what the fuck do you mean you do law? you’re a doctor who blog
doctor who mutuals - reblog with your degrees
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact that there is a ramp to get in the TARDIS now but now we have gone 2 full seasons and NO ONE has used it. Not a single person used it, it really does feel performative. What was the point? It was a cool moment to see and it means everything to me but not seeing it being used ever just feels really frustrating. It doesn't even have to be Shirley who uses it (even tho I was soooo convinced she would at some point) I just want to see it, see someone use the ramp just one time. please.
You've laid the ground work, given us the hope that disabled people can travel with the doctor. now show us
15 and Shirley 💙💙
RTD managed to 180 two season finales and try and make us believe it was always like that. Ruby being "not important" and Belinda's whole fucking reason for going home going from "i want to" to "I need to get home to my daughter" like bloody hell dude. What's the point of building a season if you just light it all on fire at the end
belinda went from badass exhausted nurse who reads people red flags like they’re written on their face to a doctor devotee forced into motherhood… okay thanks for nothing
What, and I say this from the bottom of my heart, the fuck
Doctor Who The Reality War
im going to get so many unfollows but holy fuck do I despise Rose (always have). what is with the regenerating into past characters/actors. the BBC does have more than 12 talented actors. I'm so so so so sooooooooo tired of this gimmick. It worked for capalidi. was a cool thing to explore there. Now its just fucking stupid and overused
