【➹】  A frown settled on his face, his brows slightly creased as his mind wrapped around the idea of this man’s intentions.  Was this the right place, anyway ?  A partial amount of troops, led by Prince Leon, were supposed to arrive with food and comfort supplies for those in the underground areas of Anya's kingdom, as well for the people in the capital.  Takumi’s forces had arrived sooner to clear a safe passageway from the invisible soldiers, or thieves from the slums.  So here he was, almost unsure of his next step.

「  If you’re helping the children、」  he started, his voice cautious of the man’s intentions.  「  then I have no conflict with you...   But there will be a supply group arriving soon。  I’m a prince of Byakuya, and I'm here to guarantee their safety。 」

            War in this world was the same as it was in Jia Chong’s; he found the same scenes of the most utter disarray.

           Although won, the battle had left the area and Kamui’s forces in shambles. There would be little that they could scavenge there, and with so many soldiers left wounded, their retreat would be a slow procession back to the castle. Both sides would need time to lick their wounds, but what was most important now was to nurse their force’s morale—and to also ensure Takumi’s safety.

           Jia Chong remained close to Takumi’s side. ❛❛ I’m going to accompany you during the retreat, ❜❜ he said. ❛❛ My lord, please give the order to regroup. We will need to make sure everyone gets out safely. ❜❜

【➹】  Times like these had reminded him that he couldn't always support his family and his retainers, especially when Kamui’s forces were split into smaller groups for certain missions.  Ever since Jia Chong had gained the trust of most of the commanders in the army, Ryōma in particular was intrigued by the mysterious strategist’s thought process and his cultural ways.  One could better themselves if they learned from foreigners, thus he had considered Jia Chong as an adviser of sort for Takumi.  The decision was made through well-thought-out intentions and it was best for the younger prince to set aside his doubts for now.

     The battle that brought them victory wasn't without the consequences, Takumi knew their situation could falter if he were to make a brash decision.  Not willing to risk the lives around him, he considered Jia Chong's words, although showed his frustration for what he thought was his own uselessness.  If only he could do more.

「  What a pain...   Fine、we’ll regroup and make it back to safety。  But I also need to check the rear for any ambushes。 」

【➹】  What was worse than being treated like a child ?  Being treated like an animal--- a pet, specifcally.  Perhaps the way he was treated was a tradition in the other kingdom, something that retainers were taught to do.  If so, they had a lot of work to do when it came to respecting royalty.  Takumi would have a word with Laslow's lord if the prince wasn't so... intimidating to approach sometimes.  He'll just have to take his annoyance out on the culprit for now.

【➹】  Somehow it wasn’t strange anymore, being accustomed to the presence of a non-threatening version of himself--- unlike in his dreams.  The place where heroes were summoned, and Lilith’s powers were responsible for a paradox like this to happen.  Ever since then, Takumi learned a few things about the other youth.  However, he couldn’t help but frown, he didn’t think the suit would look nicely on his other self.

『 🌸 //  i think my favourite part about takumi’s features are his eyes.  they’re really soft and warm, even though his usual behaviour isn't that great.  they have a downward kinda appearance, while someone like leon has more of a sharp look.  and no matter how tough takumi tries to act, his eyes still tells you that he’s a soft boy who just wants to be appreciated and loved.

i really love it when artists remember that feature and draw him like that.  while i do think that his normal feh art looks fine (the artist draws well !), i don’t really like how they drew takumi’s eyes.  it makes me feel like an aspect of takumi is missing, i felt like his art didn't show off his personality well enough.

but i think tobi, the artist who drew his seasonal art, drew him with the soft, droopy-eyed look that i grew to like.  it suits him, and he’s even smiling too !  another great thing about takumi. 』
