A smol summary of important things of my fiction
This is what I’ve been using my creativity on (and it’s still not complete DX)
In any case, this is a summary of my characters for Satsugeki no Isan! (I’m about to change the title. I meant to say something like Deadly Heritage, if you know more Japanese than me and want to correct me about this name, then please don’t hesitate to tell me!)
This is a story I started a year ago I think? In any case, there’s all ready a lot of characters, so I meant this to be a way to keep track of all of them, as well as letting the ones currently reading it know some more about the characters.

Important Places.
Liseranna Academy: Magic Academy located in the waters between The United Kingdom and France. Ran by the enigmatic Director A. It's location cannot be pinpointed with modern devices as it is hidden with magic. Liseranna is only one of several Magical Academies in existance, but it still places first in the top 3 of Best Schools to Learn Magic In.
It is like a small city, so that their students do not have to leave the premises at all during their student lives in Liseranna. It has dorms, the enormous campus that covers most of the island, several malls and places for the students to spend their time in.
According to the headmaster, 'we cultivate an independient life style, so that our students can experience for themselves what it means to be a mage'.
It is said that Liseranna holds the largest storage of Magical Items in existance, with most of them being forbidden and/or dangerous. They also kept the Heaven's Piece, before it was stolen and cut in two parts.
They are currently housing and educating 50,000 students. There are 14,500 year one students, 17,500 year two students, 8,000 year three students, 5,500 year four students, 3,000 year five students and 1,500 year six students
Reiki's Dorm: The place where Reiki and Emeri live. Though the number of hosts in the dorm has increased lately, there's still no landlord in function, though Reiki does his best to act as one. It is a solitary dorm standing in between wilderness and forest, so Reiki often comments on how much of a pain it is to get rid of pests. The hosts currently residing in the dorm are: Reiki Byrne, Emeri Leinfield, Lala Ouaknin, Yuri Volkov, Kirstie Lowe, Klio Tarkan, Iona Byrne, Irina Gauss and Celeste Ballegor Minrathos.
Shinryuu City: Highly technological city located in the waters of Japan. Most of it is surrounded in mystery, though they do have a lot of propaganda going around to advertise Espers and the possibility of someone possesing ESP.
People.
Reiki Byrne: Main protagonist. A tall and slender young man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He's half Irish and half Japanese. He wears glasses and his demeanor, as described by others, is 'meek and weak, nothing like what he actually is'.
His face is circle-shaped and his face features are somewhat soft and relaxed. Though he mostly wears a smile on his face when around Emeri or the others, many say that his glare and frown make for quite the killer look.
His hair short and shaggy, with some strands of it falling just before his eyes. He doesn't really take care of it, which surprises the girls, since it is actually really smooth. Kirstie loves to brush Reiki's hair with her fingers (though she's only done so once). More often than not, one can see bags under Reiki's eyes, due to his terrible sleeping habits and being a light sleeper.
He is the best magician in all of Liseranna, though he doesn't act the part. He's shy and easily gets anxious around other people. It takes some time for him to get used to other people, unless he is faced with a selfish person who'd pull him along with their selfish desires, which is mostly the case with Emeri and Lala. Also, when he gets angry or flustered, he starts speaking in Japanese.
His catalyst are the infamous but well known 'Shifting Runes'. They are runes inscribed into one's body that shift according to what the user wants to cast. Reiki has at least 8,000 already inscribed into his body, and he uses them to catalyze Emeri's negative energy into his body then outside of it and unto the environment. Still, his body is falling to pieces with so much negative energy.
The process to inscribe a rune into one's body is also a lengthy and painful ritual that Reiki undergoes every pair of months if he is in optimal conditions. The consequences for not being in optimal condition could leave Reiki invalid or, at worse, dead.
His team name is Last Remnant, a name suggested in the spur of the moment. His teammates are Yuri Volkov, Kirstie Lowe and Lala Ouaknin. Reiki is the leader of this team.
Reiki's known Emeri since they were 6, and they became friends short after his transfer to Emeri's school. Reiki's always been concerned by Emeri's well being, and one could say that it even awakened his fatherly instincts, or his instincts as an older brother. He would do anything to protect Emeri, even sacrifice himself. He fears that one day he'll have to do just so, and what worries him most is that no one else will be left to look after Emeri.
He has become the Master of Klio Tarkan, a proud centaur who has approved of his abilities and objectives. It is said that she is actually Reiki's sexual slave. Though these claims are most certainly untrue, the man has to hold himself back so as to not take advantage of her.
Irina Gauss is the only nurse with whom Reiki feels comfortable with, and often the one that offers treatment for his tattered body. Reiki wants to enlist her help come the next ritual to inscribe a rune into his body.
Due to his habit of looking after Emeri, it could be said that Reiki neglected her sister. When she developed an inferiority complex, Reiki resolved to ignore her almost completely. Iona doesn't hate Emeri, since she is one of the few that can ever understand the pain of her brother, but she doesn't particularly like her either. Regardless, Reiki does indeed look after Iona, and seeing that she has (somewhat) calmed down since he last saw her, Reiki has been spoiling his little sister a bit more lately.
He has also piqued Celeste Ballegor Minrathos' interest, and she keeps herself close to him whenever possible. According to her, Reiki is similar to a man she met before and fell in love with. Whether she has a romantic interest in Reiki or not is unclear.
His main focus in magic is Praestigae: Shining Light. It specializes in the use of light when creating illusions, taking as a basis the fact that people can see by the light their eyes absorb. It can also use light to trick the brain into thinking that intense pain is coursing through the body.
He is also able to use Medela magic, though it is still not clear what kind of magic he uses. It can be assumed that he also uses light to cure wounds.
He researches a lot of magic in order to get a solution to Emeri's Eye of Baphel. Also, several people think he even goes as far as to do experiments on humans, though that is certainly not true.
Whoever's gotten to know Reiki knows that he is, in fact, quite the dedicated otaku. He keeps secret collections of games, both smut and normal ones, in his computer under several locks that no one but him can open. It seems that what the girls discovered before was nothing but a screen he put there to confuse them, or so he claims.
His dream is to become a chef and his current objective is to protect Emeri and not let the Eye of Baphel fall into the wrong hands.
He is 1.80 meters tall and weighs 55 kilograms. He usually wears denim pants and long sleeved shirts. He also likes to wear hoodies, but detests them when it is hot.
His birthday is in April 20.
Emeri Leinfield: Main protagonist. Reiki's childhood friend. A tomboyish and short girl with silver hair and hazel eyes. She's a full blooded Irish citizen. She is 17 years old, though her birthday still hasn't come.
Her face is round and her face features are small and, according to Reiki, the only real part of her that is actually feminine. Her eyes are big and round, with a strange glitter to them that none can deny. She keeps her silver hair short, cut just around her nape, and ties it up in a pair of small pigtails by the sides of her head.
When active, the Eye Of Baphel manifests in her right eye and turns her eye's sclera into an azure color and her pupil into a red, flower-like pattern with 8 spikes.
Though she is not much of a mage, she is still well known for being Reiki's girlfriend, which is a common misconcenption in Liseranna.
She's energetic, spunky and short tempered. She often acts as Reiki's anchor to the real world whenever he wants to escape when he is among crowds. Also, she often drags Reiki into lots of midventures that aren't in Reiki's fondest memories.
Emeri's magic, in it's western form, is called 'Contritio: Sword Art', however, she uses the oriental variation of it, 'Contritio: Kenjutsu'.
She remains as a Year 2 magician because she cannot control how much magic she puts in the sword and often ends up breaking it. Aside from that, there are several spells she's particularly proficient at, thanks to the Eye of Baphel. Until now, she's shown the memory erasing spell, Oblitus, and the probing spell, Inquisitio.
Though she does not have a team of her own, she is well acquainted with Reiki's teammates, though she isn't in the best of terms with each and every one of them. She is also acquainted with Klio, Irina and Celeste, of whom she does not have the best of opinions.
Emeri is the host of the Eye of Baphel in this era, something that has caused quite some trouble for the girl.
Due to the extreme bad luck that the Eye produces, she's almost always been alone due to other kids fearing that her bad luck would rub on on them. The only one to look past that and spend time with her was Reiki, another kid who had been chastised by the rest of the class due to his mixed heritage. Reiki was the first to notice that her bad luck does not rub on anyone and that it is exclusive to Emeri.
Though Emeri does not remember all that well, she is certain that her and Reiki's transfer to Liseranna was because of her.
Despite their complicated past and Reiki mostly looking after Emeri, it was actually Emeri who started driving away the kids that bullied the two of them, quickly learning how to fight. With Reiki by her side, she resolved to not ever allow him to be hurt just because he hanged out with her. Emeri only allows herself to cry in front of Reiki, too.
Her dream is to finally get rid of the Eye of Baphel and afterwards become Reiki's bride. Her current objective is to catch up to Reiki's year and take classes with him.
She is 1.57 meters tall, weighs 58 kilograms and her three sizes are 80-71-85. She usually dresses in denim pants and simple blouses, though if pressed she'll wear a skirt. Her birthday is November 1st.
Kiel Mannery: A young man in year 5 that challenged Reiki to a duel and afterwards faced him and his team in the Team Placement exam. Both of these ended up badly for him. He's got black hair and black eyes.
He feels a sort of rivalry with Reiki because he is also 18 years old, but not as smart as Reiki himself, which infuriates him. Reiki doesn't take notice of his existance, though.
His magic is Contritio: Feuer Frei, and his catalyst is a silver .357 Magnum Desert Eagle. Despite his name, Kiel was actually born in Germany and speaks fluent German, though his parents are British.
Though they lost against Reiki's team, Kiel's team succeeded in the next Team Placement exam that took place a pair of months later.
He is 1.70 meters and weighs 78 kilograms.
The name of his team is Bat Wing (seemingly, Kiel likes the superhero, Batman). His team members are Hikawa Yoko, Seuk Nam Il, Caterina Daslow and Logan Aster.
Hikawa Yoko: A Japanese young woman. She is 16 years old and is quite small when compared to others, but about the same height as Emeri (1.63 m). Her hair is black and her eyes are black as well. Her magic is 'Naturalis: Kamisori'. She can make any kind of leave or tree branch as sharp as any sword, and control it with her mind. She can also make paper sharp as a result. Her catalyst is a small dagger she keeps inside of her sleeve.
Seuk Nam Il: Korean woman. Nam Il is a 15 year old girl that is even smaller than Yoko (1.59 m). Her magic is 'Pythones: Forest Spirits' (she pronounces it as 'Supjujeong' outside of battle). Her hair is light brown and she's got what many refer to as 'bewitching' green eyes, though they are often obscured by her hood. She is able to call upon the spirits of dead nature and command them to do her will. She can use this to make ghoulish trees, make branches move or even make zombie animals. Though she is good, she still lacks experience. It is said that with more training, her magic will resemble Kirstie's Naturakinesis. Her catalyst is the hood she usually wears.
Caterina Daslow: A British girl. The 17 year old blonde girl who thinks of herself as a knight and even dresses the part. She is one of the tallest girls in the whole school (1.80 m). Her hair is blonde and her eyes are of a deep and piercing blue. Her magic is 'Contritio: Aerial Blade'. With her halberd, her catalyst, the girl is able to produce slashes in the air and control them at will, laying them as traps or using them as a long range attack. She is the partner of Logan Aster and often poses as the man's girlfriend, since they are childhood friends. Her interest still lies in Kiel, though.
Logan Aster: British man. A 16 year old man that specializes in cunning and deceiving. He is just as short as Yoko, though (1.65 m). He has wild black hair and black eyes. His magic is 'Praestigiae: Shadow Deceive', the complete opposite of Reiki's, as he uses shadows to make illusions that can actually become tangible if the caster has enough magic. His catalyst is a lighter he can use to make even more shadows. The man, though he does his best not to act the part, is actually homosexual, hence why he has Caterina act as his girlfriend. His actual romantic interest is Kiel.
Director A: A tall and pompous elderly man who is openly homosexual. His flamboyant and effeminate way of talking and acting are often over the top. Despite the man being less than serious, he is a force to be reckoned with, and a man feared all throughout the school as someone with a deadly glare.
He has cleanly cut, short gray hair and gray eyes, though the latter aren't seen that often since his perpetual smile and closed eyes make it a mystery for everyone. Some people think the man does not have any other expression, and Reiki is almost convinced that his eyes are shut together, because he's seen his mood change several times, though his eyes remain closed. He's seen them only one time, though Emeri has seen them several times when talking with the man.
His face features are craggy, not to mention wrinkled (don't mention it, though). One glance is enough to see the experience behind the man he is now, though no one dares ask what kind of experiences made him the man he is.
During war times, he was nicknamed 'The Crimson Blade', because of how he cut enemies with his bare hands and would later bathe in their blood as it sprinkled out of their bodies. Many doubt his mental sanity, but no one dares raise their concerns, anyone but Reiki, that is.
Director A isn't actually his name, but he refuses to disclose his real name to anyone. Even when he met Reiki, a 12 year old at the time, he introduced himself as such.
The Director helped Reiki into the school, and 'protects' Emeri's secret, though he is quick to leak it if he is bored.
His magic is a mystery, but it is known that he is most proficient in the Neutra magic school.
He stands at 1.96 meters tall and his weight is a mystery, quite literally, since every scale he weighs himself on ends up malfunctioning. He dresses in colorful suits.
Lala Ouaknin: Protagonist. A half Algerian, half Croatian girl with dark skin, white hair and golden eyes. She considers herself Reiki's best friend, only second to Emeri. She is 17 years old.
Her hair reaches her waist, despite the fact that she almost always has her hair done in a ponytail. Her face is oval shaped and her features are unexpectedly fine. Her eyes are big and she can even make a classical 'puppy look' if needed be. She tries to keep her eyebrows arched down and a big, confident smile to at least look a bit 'wilder', or so she says.
She is tomboyish and athletic, vastly preferring outdoors activities rather than staying inside and studying. She's also got an habit of adding a 'chi' to people's names.
While she is sharp when it comes to the feelings and thoughts of others, she is seemingly oblivious to whatever happens to her, or what effect the way she dresses and behaves has in others, specially Reiki.
Despite being dimwitted and a total failure when it comes to theory, Lala is a natural genius when it comes to magic. She is acknowledged as being the fifth of the top five magicians in the school, the first being Reiki and the second being Zane.
Her catalyst are a pair of gauntlets her parents gave to her as a gift for her birthday. Upon being analysed by Reiki and the others, they discovered that the gauntlets actually have the runes necessary to cast her magic inscribed on them, and even though it makes it easier for her to cast they still found it amazing that the girl only needs to shout the name of the spell she needs to cast.
She is the team's greatest offensive force thanks to her magic Contritio: Implodirati. Lala is able to make anything collapse in on itself with violent force, though she mostly uses her magic to make the air around her implode and give her fists a boost. Thanks to Reiki and the others, she's become more knowledgeable on the other uses her magic has, such as making structures collapse or even making a person's body implode, though she has never tried the latter.
Her team is Last Remnant, where he met Reiki, Yuri and Kirstie, and then met Reiki's own friends. Though she tries to keep a good relationship with all of them, she tends to stay quiet when problem arises between the other members of her team, only speaking up when talked to. She does like to offer advice when they are at odds, though.
She considers Reiki a good friend and someone she can trust with her life. She is quick to hug him or coil her legs around him, though. According to her, Reiki is 'cuddly' despite being little more than bones and skin. She knows this because, after getting hurt and being in the infirmary for quite a while, she spent the night looking after him and decided to sleep next to him. When the others arrived and discovered the girl holding Reiki tightly, she was prohibited from ever staying again as Reiki's caretaker.
Yuri and Lala's relationship is slightly complicated, mostly by the fact that Yuri often feels like a father or older brother looking after a kid. Lala trusts Yuri with her back, and also with helping her in class. Yuri has the most classes with Lala, and is really reliable, according to her, so she often relies on him. Yuri has helped her with her homework, given her notes and even helped her cheat in a quiz once.
Lala is often at odds with Kirstie. Kirstie's attitude often infuriates Lala, mostly because she reminds her of someone that was once close to her. She tries her best only to talk with her when it is only necessary and when they do have to talk, she also tries to overlook her condescending tone. She knows she is a good girl at heart, but Lala just can't handle her attitude. She wishes they could get along better.
Lala and Emeri are often an odd duo. Emeri is certain that, like Kirstie, Lala is after Reiki and is just waiting to sink her fangs into his neck. Lala thinks that Emeri is just being overprotective of Reiki and often teases her with that. She's made herself clear, though, and claims not to have any kind of interest in Reiki. When they are not discussing Emeri's love life, it could be said that Emeri gets along with her the most out of everyone in Reiki's team.
Lala often tries to make Klio less formal, much to her chagrin. Klio has tried to do the contrary with Lala, but got exhausted after a 30 minute session with her. Like with everyone else, Klio will not speak with her unless she's spoken to first.
Lala and Iona don't care much for each other, though Lala tried to approach her at first and was instantly shot down. After that, Lala has tried to keep a cordial relationship with Reiki's sister.
Irina, as odd as it may seem, often goes to Lala for advice. Despite everything, Lala is really knowledgeable on every part of a person's body and what may be troubling them. Irina says that, most of the time, Lala is right on point on the ailments athletes have, because she's suffered the same at some point.
Lala does not like Celeste one bit. Despite that, she is the quickest to succumb to Celeste's orders. Due to this, Celeste often calls her 'Dog'.
Lala is known all throughout the school as one of the most beautiful girls, but she's incredibly unpopular despite of that. Many say that this is because it would be 'like dating a man'. Since she is quick to succumb to the orders of others, she's been voted as the Girl Most Likely To Cosplay as just about anything. Some have wondered what would happen should they ask her to spend a night with them (in the crude sense of the word), but everyone is too scared of what may happen to give it a second thought.
Despite not looking like it, acting like it, or being anything like it, at all, Lala is actually from a noble mage house of Croatia, the house of Kasun, and the next in line to take over as the head of the house. According to her papers, her full name is Lavladia Kasun Ouaknin. It is known that she has a sister, but her sister does not attend Liseranna, she failed the entrance exam, and instead studies magic in another magical school.
Her dream is to be able to travel around the world and settle somewhere with a nice husband (or wife, she's not picky). Her current objective is to shake off her responsibilities as a noble woman.
She is 1.77 meters tall and weighs 65.5 kilograms. Her three size are 69-57-74 Most of her clothes are skimpy at best, and she often wears shorts that allow everyone to see her long and shapely legs, as well as tanktops. She's never wore a skirt in her life, at least not as a separate piece of clothing, but she is more or less accustomed to dresses. All of them are custom made, though, and the skirt is as short as possible so as to not make her uncomfortable. Her birthday is in July 8th.
Yuri Volkov: Protagonist. A Russian redheaded young man who is often confused for a woman. He is 17 years old. He considers Reiki a reliable confidant with whom he can talk about almost anything, and also someone he is indebted to. His eyes are green and his skin is as fair as the snow, which only helps to confuse others more when it comes to his actual gender.
His features are so fine that they are one of the reasons so many confuse him for a woman, and his small and alluring green eyes make him even more popular with men. He is short and looks rather thin with his clothes on, so most women don't give him a second thought (several are jealous of him, though).
Though he's tried, he finds it impossible to not take proper care of his appearance and hair, to perhaps look somewhat 'manlier'. He dresses like he does in order to make a point of his being a man. Reiki has suggested he changes the bow-tie for an actual tie, or perhaps wearing something more casual.
He is a quiet but strict man. He is also very polite and often refers to others as 'Miss' or 'Mister' until he gets to know them. His hobbies include reading and sewing. Out of Reiki's team, he is the most reliable.
Yuri isn't quick to trust orders but he is quick to earn the trust of others. He doesn't like it when people thread in the shadows and keep important secrets, as he can be a little paranoid at times.
Yuri is not a natural genius when it comes to magic, he had to work really hard to get to where he is now, and is still not powerful enough to be in the top ten magicians of the school. In the whole school, he is ranked as the 12th most powerful magician.
Yuri's catalyst is a magical wand, a traditional instrument Russians such as him use to cast magic. Yuri's actual genius is music, and he was a prodigy conductor that directed several orchestras in his time, before he started dedicating his life solely to magic. All of the motions he uses when casting magic are similar to the motions he used when he was conducting in concerts.
His magic is one of the oldest types of magic. Alchemy, the art to transform matter into different things at will. He focuses in the transformation and refining of metals, and the name of his magic is Alchimia: металл рафинирование, though he almost always refers to it in English, 'Alchimia: Metal Refining' because it is shorter. He prefers to use firearms and is an expert marksman, but he is also proficient in the use of bladed weapons, though he still prefers a simple serrated knife if possible.
His team is Last Remnant and his teammates are Reiki, Lala and Kirstie. He often has to play the role of the straight man when he is with his other teammates, as well as the one who breaks up any fights and quarrels that might start to arise between his teammates.
Though they started their relationship with the left foot, what with Yuri being paranoid about the secrets Reiki HAD to keep and Reiki being adamant on not revealing anything to them. The two of them now accept that both were in the wrong and have already apologized, but Yuri still thinks that there is an undeniable distance between the two of them, one that he has tried to shorten however possible. His efforts have bore no fruits though, since Reiki himself has already forgiven him for whatever he may have done (he claims not to have time for such petty things). Yuri is also fairly jealous of Reiki's unexpected popularity.
Emeri at first hated Yuri's guts. She considers him a hypocrite and somewhat of a crybaby because of how he acted up with Reiki, and is actually very sensible to any comment about Reiki coming from him. Lately, the two have been getting along a bit better, and Yuri has stopped calling Emeri 'miss', though Emeri's perception of Yuri has hardly changed.
Kirstie reminds Yuri of his mother, in her pose, appearance and in the way she talks, of course. Though their personalites are quite similar, his mother was way gentler and kind that Kirstie could ever hope to be. He still makes a point to not ever upset the girl for real, lest he want a branchy armaggedon to rain upon everyone. If his mother's and Kirstie's personalities are similar enough, then he's certain no one wants her mad. Other than that, Yuri's relationship with her is fairly peaceful.
Yuri sees in Klio a powerful and trustworthy ally. Straightforward and dedicated, Yuri sometimes wishes he had been the one to become her master instead of Reiki. Regardless, Klio too, doesn't have the best of opinions about Yuri, but, unlike Emeri, keeps most comments to herself. He has asked her for lessons on how to handle a sword, though.
Iona is a complicated matter for Yuri. Since she is Reiki's sister, Yuri has been meaning to approach her and ask her how he can make peace with Reiki. Then again, since she is Reiki's sister, she might also be mad at him after hearing the story from her brother. Iona, like her brother, does not care about what he might do.
Yuri, yet again, is jealous of Reiki for being able to get a cute nurse to, well, nurse him. He is plenty sure that, like Emeri and Kirstie, Irina has a crush on Reiki, something he wouldn't find odd, considering it is Reiki. After Irina's inclusion to what Yuri has nicknamed as 'Reiki's Harem', Yuri has started investigating Reiki's popularity as something magical, a research that has bore no fruits whatsoever.
Like most, Yuri believes Celeste to be some kind of noble. He has a hard time trusting her, though, with the fact that she is a vampire and whatnot. He constantly kept an eye on her, until the girl told him to give it a rest.
Like Lala, Yuri is considered one of the prettiest girls in the school, and many are certain that they would date him, because, even if he is a man, it'd be like dating a dedicated and cute woman. Of course, Yuri does not tolerate being called a woman by them, and can even felt a little left out when these kinds of things are decided behind his back. It is said that he once shot a guy that declared his love for him, thinking that he was actually a woman. However, he is not below acting like a woman in order to obtain something.
Yuri's family was once a great magical noble house, but has since fallen out of such an status, after several generations of talentless magicians. Yuri's now studying magic and has become powerful in order to restore his Volkov's house status as a noble house. Still, his dark past is heavy on his mind at all times, and he often wonders if a man such as him is fit to be standing with his teammates. His resolve strengthens once he sees that, most probably, his teammates would always be bickering if he was not there for them.
His dream is to one day restore the Volkov's house status as part of the nobility. His current objective is getting to know the secret of Reiki's popularity.
He is 1.68 meters tall and weighs 73.5 kilograms. Most of his weight is muscle, actually. He is the kind of guy who looks thinner with his clothes on, and is actually quite ripped below his clothes.
He often dresses formally, with dark pants (or shorts), a white dress shirt and a bow-tie to complete his attire with, as well as a pair of suspenders. Once, someone said that his attire resembles something out of a classic movie.
His birthday is August 21st.
Kirstie Lowe: Protagonist. An 18 year old woman hailing from the United Kingdom. She is a tall, black haired woman with blue eyes and a curvy body.
Her condescending attitude is often just a cover for the mellow and scared woman that she is on the inside, though, and being completely honest, she does enjoy looking down on others from time to time.
Her face is heart shaped and, though she is extremely good-looking, her features are thin and sharp. Her blue eyes are specially sharp and some say that they can see right through anything, whether the girl is trying to or not. She does not wear make-up, but uses it whenever there's a social event or gathering.
Kirstie, according to mostly everyone in the dorm knowledgeable on Japanese popular tropes, is what most would call a 'tsundere', meaning that she is often hostile but sweet and caring with the object of her love. Though Reiki does classify her as such, he is unaware of the girl's feelings for him.
Like Yuri, Kirstie is not a natural genius of magic, and she is standing where she is now due to her hard work. Kirstie was born in a noble house with several brothers and sisters insanely more talented for magic than her. For her, magic was a struggle that she had to face each and everyday, even more so with the fact that the worth of someone was determined by their magical power.
No one helped each other in her house, not even her parents would help her, so she had to do everything alone. Everyone was hostile to each other, and fights would start at the least of provocations. She had to be constantly on her guard, lest she would be wiped out and replaced by the next daughter of the Lowe house.
It was then when the girl discovered what is now her catalyst, something that cuts her work in half. The necklace she wears with a special kind of stone, the 'Gaia Emerald', that allows her to directly connect her consciousness and become one with nature, in an odd sense of the word.
As she's said before, her magic, the ancient 'Naturakinesis' of the Lowe family, is about controlling nature with the mana of the caster by 'speaking' to it and commanding it to do the will of the caster. Of course, one needs a strong will so that nature will actually follow its orders. Kirstie's catalyst, though, creates a shortcut for this and, independant of the will of the user, one can cast Naturakinesis without as much as a problem. It is said, however, that those not chosen by the stone itself will sprout roots and become one with the earth itself.
Despite her powerful catalyst and her ability to control most forests at will, Kirstie is still considered the 13th most powerful mage in the school, just a seat below Yuri. While she is indeed powerful and can control roots and trees at will, transform them and even turn them sharp if she wanted to, the fact that she cannot control light, darkness, water, fire and earth puts her at a huge disadvantage to her brother, Felix Lowe, and her sister, Emma Lowe, who occupy the 3rd place and the 7th place respectively.
Kirstie's team, Last Remnant is formed by Reiki Byrne, Lala Ouaknin and Yuri Volkov. She's gotten to meet new people since then, despite having trouble socializing at times.
Kirstie, despite looking down on Reiki at first because of his somewhat cowardly and shy nature, has now grown so fond of the man that she's developed quite a heavy crush on him. Her first love, she claims. Despite not being honest with herself most of the time, the girl has become resolute on confessing her feelings for him at some point of other, lest Emeri takes him first for herself.
Emeri and Kirstie's relationship is actually really complicated. Emeri hates Kirstie with every fiber of her being, because she is the archetype of just about every generic bully in history, and she is sure that the girl's feelings for Reiki are nothing but the desire to mess with him at a more sentimental level. Also, Emeri is scared of the fact that Kirstie is actually Reiki's preferred Japanese trope, as well as an undeniable and bewitching beauty (not to mention that she fits right into Reiki's preferences). Kirstie is jealous of Emeri and her close relationship with Reiki. She wishes she were able to ask for advice with her but Emeri's hostile attitude discourages Kirstie.
Kirstie does, however, talk a lot with Klio. In a sense, Klio could be called Kirstie's spy. Despite everything, Klio actually thinks that Kirstie does not mean bad and cheers for her relationship with her master. She thinks that a strong willed woman like Kirstie is a perfect fit for Reiki.
Iona and Kirstie have a deal between the two of them. As long as Kirstie does not come in between her and her brother, then she will feed Kirstie information about Reiki. Kirstie is certain that Reiki wouldn't choose his own sister, though, so she doesn't really consider Iona a love rival.
Like Emeri and Yuri, Kirstie thinks that Irina has a crush on Reiki, much like herself, and is extremely cautious when she is around her. Despite that, though, Irina seems to not mind Kirstie's odd behavior and is one of the few actual friends Kirstie has, mostly because she is about the only person able to overlook Kirstie's often condescending character.
Kirstie actually looks up to Celeste. She is the kind of woman Kirstie would like to be some day. Confident, mysterious and able to speak her mind whenever she wants to, not to mention willful and whimsical. Kirstie admires that part of Celeste, and would like to have her teach her some on the ways of beind a noble.
Like the other two in Reiki's team, Kirstie is also considered one of the most beautiful women in the whole school, if not the one standing above everyone else in this kind of thing, with her sister not far behind her. Of course, she is aware of this fact, which only serves to make her ego bigger. What she doesn't know, however, is that every men in the school believes that only a masochist would go out with a girl like her. She also won over her sister because her chest is bigger, and has been voted as 'The Woman Everyone Wants To See In An Open Chest Sweater'.
Again, and like the other two in Reiki's team, Kirstie is a noblewoman of the Lowe house in the United Kingdom. She holds her status as a noble in high regard and knows how to behave in society, prefers to wear long and fancy dresses and can even be a little spoiled at times. The girl was raised to believe that every Praestigiae mage is nothing short of scum, and hence her openly hostile behavior when she met Reiki. Later, of course, she was made aware of how wrong her parents were when they taught her that.
Her dream is to become a splendid noblewoman and the next head of her house. Her current objective is to be able to confess her feelings for Reiki and become a couple.
She is 1.74 meters tall and weighs 65 kilograms. Her three sizes are 98-64-90.
Kirstie often wears sweaters, thighs and short skirts, along with boots, all of this along with a long, red coat. When it is hot, though, she prefers to use short-sleeved blouses, a skirt, knee high thighs and her usual boots. She usually carries her red coat with her, no matter how hot or cold it is outside, though.
Makatsume Mitsuhiro: A tall and intimidating man who Reiki has described as being 'too samurai'. His skin is somewhat darker than most people in the school due to his Japanese heritage, his black eyes are slim and slanted and his long, pitch black hair falls all the way to his hip.
His face seems to have a perpetually calm expression, and his voice is always monotone. He cannot be perturbed neither can he be surprised. He is always battle ready, and always carries a pair of swords with him. He prefers to keep things simple and merely dresses with t-shirts and denim pants, or sweatpants if he has no denim pants at hand. The only thing slightly resembling some kind of protective gear is an ancient, red shoulder pad that resembles a samurai's armor style.
He carries two katanas at his hip at all times, one with a silver hilt, a blue sheath and silver ornaments themed after a hawk adorning the sheath, and another one with a golden hilt, a red sheath and golden ornaments themed after a dragon. These two katanas are named Hayabusa and Shinryuu. It is said that one of the two (if not both) is the catalyst of Mitsuhiro. No one knows for certain. Only one man has survived an encounter with him after all, and that man is no one else but the headmaster of Liseranna.
Though he was not alive at the time to participate in the war, there is a rumor in the magical world about a serial killer that used swords to kill his victims, nicknamed at the time 'The Ghost Samurai'. Point in fact, the serial killer only murdered criminals whose crimes had gone unpunished. Rumor has it that Mitsuhiro was such a man, until he ran into the headmaster.
Mitsuhiro's magic is the same as Emeri's, the Contritio: Kenjutsu, but in its more pure form. Though no one has ever seen the man in battle (and lived to tell the tale), everyone knows that his power only rivals the headmaster's.
The man stands at 1.85 meters and weighs 99 kilograms. Like Yuri, his increased weight is because of how much muscle the man has in his body, though unlike Yuri, his body is not like that of an athlete, but instead like that of a strong and buff man.
Klio Tarkan: Protagonist. Proud woman of the centaur race. The girl was a slave for as long as she can remember, until her meeting with Reiki and the others changed her fate. Despite her mature body, the girl is actually only 16 years old.
She has long, black hair, piercing black eyes and a square shaped face with esculpted features that make her an incredibly handsome woman, though most are often taken aback by her horse-like lowerbody.
She might call Reiki 'Master', but it isn't like all the other times when she was sold and bought like some kind of thing. This time, she chose to follow Reiki of her own free will.
Respectful, determinate and strong willed, Klio has to, most of the time, bite her tongue so that she doesn't say what's on her mind and offend those in a higher station than her.
She was taken away from her parents while she was still a little kid, and was sold from one person to another several times before ending up in the ring of slavers created by Vincentio.
In her first days as a slave, she was put in the same jail as another centaur, a man named Handy, who started teaching her everything he knew about centaur culture. He told her not to ever let go of her pride as a centaur, no matter what should happen to her in the future, and that when she finally found a man or woman worthy of her services, then that she should follow them to the ends of the earth, nomatter what should happen to her.
Klio accepted those words into her heart, but, to be completely honest, after a whole decade, the girl started to lose hope of ever finding such a man.
When Handy was killed during an auction due to his old age and the torture that the slavers were submitting him to, Klio finally lost all hope she had of ever finding a worthy master for herself. In fact, she was starting to hate humans from the bottom of her heart.
Thankfully, before that hate could root into her heart, she met Reiki and the others. Though doubtful of Reiki's intentions in the start and what seemed to be a charade at first, when Reiki put himself in front of an attack meant for her, Klio saw that not all humans were as bad as the ones she had met before.
When Reiki once again demonstrated his incredible power by killing both mages and knocking out everyone else, Klio resolved to make Reiki her master.
Since then, Klio has been following Reiki almost everywhere he goes. She even sleeps with him, so that the awful nightmares she has finally vanish away. Nightmares that have now been replaced by pleasant dreams of her and her master, must be added. Of course, these dreams are so embarrassing that she could never hope to tell Reiki about.
Unlike everyone else, Klio does not possess magi circuitry inside her body and cannot cast magic like everybody else. This, however, does not make her unable of doing battle just as fine as everyone else.
Klio has a particular talent for swordsmanip, and her body makes every strike even deathlier. In terms of strength and ability, there's no one in Liseranna that can match her when it comes to that, not even Mitsuhiro, though the man still has the upper hand because of his magic.
Klio's relationship with Reiki is nothing more than a Master-Servant relationship, at least from her point of view. She DOES harbor strong feelings towards Reiki, so strong that she wouldn't mind throwing her life away if it were for Reiki's sake. The girl is so madly in love with Reiki that she doubts she could be able to keep on going if something ever happened to him, and yet she will never act on them. She will never declare her love for Reiki because she thinks a centaur has no business being with a human in a relationship like that.
Emeri sees much of herself in Klio, when she sees how Klio is not able to convey her feelings for Reiki. For once, Emeri finds herself rootting for Klio, if only in a deluded intent to do the same for herself.
Though they started their relationship with the left foot, much like Reiki and Yuri, they have since made peace after Iona apologized for having treated her like she did. Klio has since then adressed her more respectfully, in the hopes of becoming more of a friend with her rather than an enemy.
Irina is extremely curious about Klio's physiology, and has often asked her if she'd allow her to run some tests on her. Klio, by now, has become fed up with Irina's being so adamant about it. She still refuses to let her run the tests, but she's tempted to accept just so she can get the girl off her hair.
Klio has, inevitably, been subjected to Celeste's commanding voice and unnatural royal aura. Still, Celeste always make sure to reward Klio's efforts however she finds fitting.
Klio, though a beautiful woman, is not considered as such by the others in Liseranna. Due to her lower body, mostly no one gives a second thought to dating her, not even as a joke, and those that do consider it are often maniacs and fetishists that can't see past the fact that she is a centaur. Though she says she doesn't mind and that it is only natural for humans to feel that way about her, she is starting to develop a severe complex about her body. She often wonders if Reiki would look at her differently if she had the body of a human too, which doesn't help much to her developing body complex.
Her dream is to someday return to her parents and learn more about her own culture, if possible with her master by her side. Her current objective is to make Reiki's objectives and dreams a reality.
She stands at 2.25 meters and weighs about 580 kilograms (due to the horse lower body). She is not only the tallest, but also the heaviest in the whole school. This fact does not make her happy.
Her three sizes are 108-75-85, making her also the one with the amplest breasts in the school. She complains a lot about their size, though, much to the chagrin of Lala and Irina.
Her birthday is January 25th.
She usually wears short sleeved dress shirts and especially made pants to cover her lower body. Though she is really ashamed, she asks Yuri for help with her clothes in exchange for the fencing lessons she is giving him.
Iona Byrne: Reiki's little sister. Though antisocial and hostile towards others, being shy in an entirely different sense from her brother, she is warm and kind when she is with Reiki. The angel, Gabriel, casted an spell on her (with still unknown effects) and made her more aggressive than what she usually is, as well as rude and somewhat deranged.
She is 16 years old and resembles Reiki quite a lot, with soft features and a slender frame. Of course, Iona looks a lot more feminine than Reiki (though many say that Reiki could pull off crossdressing without major effort). Her blonde hair is really short, but two long strands of her hair fall over her shoulders and reach her chest. Contrary to Reiki, Iona's green eyes are big and attractive, and she doesn't need corrective glasses.
She used to live in Ireland with her parents, until she was finally able to master the use of her catalyst.
Though she said that it was because she wanted to have a catalyst with a similar name to that of her brother, she actually chose her catalyst because she likes dancing.
Since they were young, Iona was always the one that was always outside the house, making friends, in dancing lessons, piano lessons, swimming club, etc..., nothing like Reiki at all. Iona gave a real effort to everything she did, she had to study quite a lot in order to get average test scores too, while her brother was able to do most of these things after reading just one book.
That's how Iona developed her inferiority complex, but the fact that Reiki barely pay her any mind made her furious with him. Iona refused to even look at Reiki for several years, but the fact that Reiki was hanging with (taking care of) Emeri made her more jealous than she could have ever predicted.
When she finally confronted Reiki about her conflicted feelings, Reiki told her that she was in fact jealous because, as family, she loved Reiki, and felt that Emeri was going to take him away from her. Reiki did not take into account, though, that Iona would misunderstand this big time.
After Reiki told her that, Iona became smitten with her brother. She's been following him around like a duckling ever since, and Reiki is certainly not happy with the result. Though his sister is indeed cute and, without a doubt, he loves her, he thinks that such an anime-like development is not actually something good for his sake of mind.
When she became 16 years old, she was finally able to perfect her catalyst, a new and (barely) innovative catalyst, her so called 'Rune Dances'. What Iona does is dance in order to simulate the figures of runes in order to cast her spells. Though a lengthy process, her catalyst is one of the most flexible and she can even act as a catalyst for someone else, if need be, by passing over the runes she's completed already to another mage.
Iona's magic, 'Pythones: Spirits Of The Rotten', calls upon spirits that quickly corrode and decay anything they touch. It is still uncertain why, but these spirits seem to follow Iona wherever she goes. Reiki has theorized that this is because the spirits have become an existance similar to a familiar because of how many times she has called for them while she was training.
Iona has asked all of the girls to make a dancing troupe with her, even Klio, but all of them refuse. Though Yuri was willing to at first, when she told him that he'd look great in the dress she prepared for him, Yuri instantly changed his mind.
Celeste keeps a close eye on Iona because she is unsure of how she and Reiki are related. When Celeste told her that she suspects she is adopted, Iona's face became a mixture of hope and sadness. Since then, Celeste decided not to prank the girl ever again (because she felt too bad for her).
Iona stands at 1.65 meters and weighs 57 kilograms. Her three sizes are 80-59-77.
She mostly wears short sleeved blouses (often baggy) and skirts, along with sneakers. Of course, the girl is careful enough to wear shorts below her skirt, because otherwise people would see her panties whenever she had to cast magic.
Her birthday is January 29th.
Irina Gauss: An 18 year old nurse, pupil of Mistress Rollanda. Her hair is blonde and her eyes are blue. A warm and kind of woman with a healing aura. Probably the most mature in Reiki's group of friends. She loves romance novels, movies, series and the occasional video game.
Irina is a woman half Romanian and half German, who was also born in United States and spent most of her teenage years in Mexico. As such, Irina is the one who knows the most languages in Reiki's group.
She is a short woman with a circular face, small, round eyes and fair skin with a slight rosy tone. Her features are gentle and soft, further emphasizing her motherly aura. Her blonde hair is long and usually reaches the middle of her back, but she almost always keeps it in a bun at the back of her head so that it doesn't get in the way of her work. She also uses a pair of hair pins to keep her bangs off her eyes.
Irina was born in New York and discovered her talent for healing magic at a young age while in her grandmother's house. Like Reiki, she is of a castless family of mages, since her grandmother decided not to hand down the secrets of her magic to the next generation, though Irina was lucky enough to discover the books and scrolls that her grandmother used when she was still a mage.
Of course, with little option but to teach the small Irina the arts of magic, her grandmother took her as her apprentice, and taught her everything she knew. Irina was quick to surpass her, though.
Her training complete, Irina moved on to applying her knowledge in the streets. She cured all and ever single person that was hurt, and she became known to both evildoers and law enforcement officers as a 'Healing Angel' that would cure just about anything, and what was even better, she asked for nothing in return.
As one would expect, it was not too long before some great head of the mafia set her eyes on her, decided to make her part of his organization.
With little to no time to waste, Irina and her family (ironically) fled to Mexico, where she could put to even better use her gifts as a magician.
This time, though, Irina decided to keep a low profile and opened up a clinic in a small town. As it is, Irina had no shortage of pacients while she was there, and once again she attracted the attention of someone, though not quite like she did before.
Mistress Rollanda, the head nurse of Liseranna approached the girl to scout her to be her apprentice, and become the next head when she is gone. Though doubtful at first, Irina finally decided to go with her when Rollanda showed Irina her prowess as a magician. She left the clinic in the hands of her grandmother and left for Liseranna.
She, however, is not a student of Liseranna, and she does not attend classes like everybody else. Because of this, Irina doesn't have that many friends aside from the other nurses in Liseranna, though she cannot say she is actually close to any of them. Of course, that's how it was before she met Reiki and Reiki's own friends.
Irina's known healing magic is casted through the use of scrolls, the 'Medela: Body Rewrite'. These scrolls contain the information about the body, and how it was when it was healthy. By activating these and wrapping them around the damaged part of someone's body, Irina can heal instantly any kind of wound or disease. Thanks to this, Irina could also wipe out the memory of someone completely by turning their memory into a blank slate. What makes her magic impressive is the fact that a lengthy process is made an instant recovery thanks to her huge mana reserves and her knowledge of the human body.
What makes Irina an exceptional healing mage, with a huge chance of also becoming a dangerous attack mage, is her catalyst. A pair of earrings passed down from generation to generation in her family. They are ornamented with a pair of stones that are called 'Blood Rubies' that allow her to control blood however she sees fit. This can either be her own or someone else's. She has never attacked with this special kind of magic, though, since she has entirely focused on the healing properties of her magic. This magic is stored into the earrings and cannot be cast without them, the 'Medela: Haemokinesis'.
Though interested in Reiki's body because of how battered it is, Irina has recently developed a more personal interest in him. She is not sure whether to call it a crush or what, but Irina is pretty sure that Reiki is someone special to her. There's also the fact that she thinks it would be a pretty good romance, of a nurse and a patient that is constantly on the verge of dying. Regardless of everything else, though, Irina is probably the one that worries the most for Reiki, since she has seen to what extent he has damaged his body. Also, Reiki has introduced her to some romance anime that have deeply moved her (though Reiki did this only in the hope of making an otaku out of Irina).
Irina has not interacted with Emeri that much, but she is aware of both Emeri's suspicions and feelings for Reiki, though she does not try to hide the latter.
Like with Klio, Irina is really curious about Celeste's physiology. She asked her to let her run some tests, and Celeste accepted, surprisingly. When her magical artifacts exploded while running the tests, Irina let go of her curiosity for Celeste's physiology.
Irina stands at 1.66 meters tall and weighs 55 kilograms. Her three sizes are 68-65-74. According to this data, her chest is even smaller than Lala's, and since meeting Reiki's other friends, she's developed a complex about her breasts.
Irina is usually in her nurse outfit, and has grown so comfortable in it that now she cannot imagine herself in anything other than her work clothes. According to her, she feels just as comfortable in a maid outfit or in a suit.
Her birthday is December 12th.
Mistress Rollanda: The mysterious head nurse of Liseranna. Has yet to make an appearance and has only been mentioned as of yet.
According to records, she also participated in the war alongside Director A, though age is more apparent in her than in the director.
Her magic is: 'Medela: Spring Of Youth'. The exact details of this magic are uncertain and unreliable, as it has become a lost form of magic due to how hard it is to control. Rollanda is the last person known to be able to use this magic.
Zane Lance: A 19 year old, gifted mage that likes to wear baggy clothes. He has a sickly look to him, has white hair and red eyes. Like Reiki, Zane has bags under his eyes, though even bigger than Reiki's own bags.
Zane is a British man from a noble house of magic. Like Kirstie, Zane's school is Naturalis, and he and Kirstie had met before. Neither of them remember this encounter, though.
Zane has unruly and spiky white hair. Though his hair is long, it doesn't go down his back or shoulders, in fact, it goes up as if it were an afro. If he doesn't cut his hair often, then his hair will actually resemble an afro. One of his teammates once made fun of this and he's since then kept it comfortably short.
His red eyes are piercing and would seem quite menacing, were it not for the fact that the man always looks sickly. His skin is pale, and one can't be sure if that is his natural skin color or is just a side effect from his (seemingly) constant illness. His face is long and oval shaped, and his features are thin.
Zane was born with a weak complexion, and has struggled all his life with constant illness, which have left him in his current state.
His parents didn't think he was suited for magic, and were even let down by his weak complexion, but Zane didn't want to give up on himself like that.
He had heard the name of the magic of the Lance house, 'Naturalis: Speed Up'. It was easy to determine what kind of magic it was. He studied everything he could about this magic. He studied how to cast it, how to control it and finally, how to cast it on himself.
When he finally had everything down, he took his father's pistol, a 9mm and made it his catalyst. He finally casted it on himself and sped up his own metabolism and body functions. This helped him cure any illness he might have, though left him with a somewhat odd repercusion.
Since it was his first time casting it, Zane's appearance remained the same, and will remain the same. He does age, of course, but the sickly look in his face will never fade away. Along with this, Zane has also become immune to any kind of virus or bacteria that might be roaming about.
Zane's magic allows him to speed up anything and everything. He just needs to know the initial speed of whatever he is planning to speed up, and also calculate the speed it will take. Fortunately, Zane's genius allows him to calculate both of these things effortlessly.
Zane can also put seals wherever he wants, and whatever goes through it will be sped up, as long as it meets the requirements.
Zane has only just become acquainted with Reiki's teammates and friends, so he doesn't hold any particular opinion about any of them. However, Reiki and him have indeed competed for a lot of things, including the fight for the spot as best magician in Liseranna that ocurred at the beginning at the term. Reiki never learned his name, but Zane knows very well who Reiki is. Zane cannot say he hates Reiki, after all, he impulses him to become even better, but he certainly doesn't like it. Even more so with Reiki's luck.
Reiki's sister, Iona, however, is an entirely different matter for Zane. Ever since he laid eyes upon her, Zane fell madly in love with her, and this happened before the angel cast his spell on Zane. Though Iona said that she wouldn't date any man below her brother, this has only made Zane more enthusiastic about it all.
He stands at 1.70 meters and weighs 47 kilograms.
He prefers to wear coats, shirts and dress pants, though all of them are baggy.
His birthday is May 1st.
Celeste Ballegor Minrathos: Not much is known about Celeste, other than she is a vampire, seems to be a kid and most, if not all, of her vampire traits were sealed away by a man she once loved several decades ago.
She is 1.44 meters tall, weighs 0 kilograms (according to every scale she's weighed herself in) and her three sizes are 60-60-60.
Her features are like those of a child, of course, her body is frail and even seems to be made out of porcelain. Her skin is fair, her long hair is blonde and is just centimeters away from the ground and her eyes are purple.

Pythones: Magic related to souls. (Necromancy)
Medela: Magic used for healing
Praestigiae: Magic related to illusions
Alchimia: Magic to either create or change the structure of things.
Naturalis: Magic involving nature and life.
Neutra: Where all the other magic that does not fit in the other six schools falls into.
All of them have many branches, and even in those there are many other sub-branches. A mage can especialize in three schools at once, but cannot cast any kind of magic from the direct contrary of any of those schools.
Alchimia, the school of creating, is countered directly by Contritio, the school of destruction. Though one cannot live without the other, the two cannot be casted by the same person.
The school of spirits AKA the dead, Pythones, is the direct contrary of Medela, the school of healing and the living. Again, though one cannot live without the other, a mage cannot master both.
Illusions and the natural creations of earth, they are such total contraries than one can live without the other, but Praestigiae and Naturalis cannot be learned by the same person at any given time. The animosity between noble houses of these schools is especially heavy.
If someone ever tried to cast something of the school contrary to their own, it is rather possible that their magic circuits would explode. Death is the worst case scenario, and not being able to cast magic ever again is the best case scenario.
Magic works through the usage of mana, a substance mages produce and store inside themselves. While some have bigger pools of mana than others, when someone depletes his or hers, they experience extreme exhaustion. The size of a mana pool often depends of the inheritance a mage has, but in some isolated cases, someone can be born with a rather large pool of mana even if they have no magical inheritance at all.
Though it is possible to enlarge one's mana pool, the processes one has to go through are often dangerous and not worth the risk. Instead, some (with a macabre perspective) prefer to look for alternatives to mana, such as the live force of others or the negative energy in some place at a given time.
To perform magic, a mage needs either a catalyst, through which he can transform his mana into magic. A catalyst can be just about anything, even one's own body if one is willing to inscribe runes into it. There are some special catalysts that can boost one's magic (see Gaia Emerald).
Elves, Angels and Demons can cast magic without a catalyst. Dwarves need a catalyst just like humans. Every other antropomorphic or mythological creature, like centaurs or lamias, cannot cast magic, unless contracted as a familiar.
Depending on their power, a mage can fall in one of the following classes:
1.- Enchanter/Enchantress Class
2.- Sorcerer/Sorceress Class
3.- Warlock/Witch Class
4.- Conjurer Class
When someone dominates his school of magic, they become part of an exclusive class for each of the schools:
Contritio: Destructive Class Magician
Pythones: Necromancer Class Magician
Medela: Medic/Nurse Class Magician
Praestigiae: Illusionist Class Magician
Alchimia: Alchimist Class Magician
Naturalis: Druid Class Magician
Neutra: Sage Class Magician
Most students in year six are already regarded by such titles, though it is odd to find an student with more than one title of these.
Teachers in the school are masters of at least 2 schools and the headmaster knows four of the schools.
Someone can master just one branch in their school of magic, but the sub-branches of said magic don't have any kind of limitation. One can, however, cast magic of another branch if they have a catalyst containing the magic.
As a magician, anyone can make a contract with a familiar, that will then acquire magical powers (if it did not have them to begin with) and also be able to teleport to their master's side when called upon.
A familiar can be any kind of creature that is willing enough to let the mage sign a contract with them. The process of signing a contract with a familiar is unknown at the moment.
Though most of the creatures are almost always non-sapient, there have been registered cases of elves or even humans becoming a familiar, but they are something extremely unusual.
A non-sentient familiar can turn into any kind of weapon its master finds fitting, and this weapons usually have magical properties that enhance the magic of the user even further.
