Listening to the Fire Emblems Awakening soundtrack is making me want to write about Meri again and her relationship with Chrom+ her relationships with some of the other Awakening folks.

I sketched @hex-me-daddy‘s OC, Hex! I’m in love with her oops 🤪
Lady Jeralyn of house Albien, head of family, master of spies, and a certified Hoe Who Never Gets Cold
una’s back on her bullshit, it seems ! break out the levin swords and tomes of bolganone, because it’s time to be AWAKENING ON MAIN –– give this post a ❤ or a ↻ if you’re interested in interacting with an independent original character from FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING, also known as FE13 ! if you like cheerful, slightly airheaded female knights with good hearts and dead brothers, then by golly, DELPHINE VON LUSIDHE is for you ! she has verses for THREE HOUSES, FATES and HEROES as well, so she’s a bag of tricks just waiting for a couple new friends !
Some more cute Gangrel and Ruka sketches. <3
Sharing a Quick Snippet from Meri and Chrom's C-Support, just a bit of Chrom's internal thoughts. (I chose to write it from his POV but not sure if it will be all his POV or if it will alternate between him and Meri since the main fic will likely be alternating POV.)
He had been worried about Meri since she accepted his offer. She was polite, and kind, particularly to the younger or more introverted members of the militia. She seemed to take to her new duties and the daily routines of the Shepherds rather quickly. But what wasn’t as quick was her ability to trust. She was a bit more willing to be personable with some, but with most she maintained a certain distance. He couldn’t really blame her for that with what little he’d managed to gather about her and her life up until they’d crossed paths, but…
She didn’t seem too happy about having to withhold that trust.
Chrom absolutely wanted everyone in the militia to be comfortable. He wanted her to be able to trust her fellow Shepherds. He wanted her to trust him as her Captain, but moreso, he hoped he could be a friend to her. She was brave, and smart, and seemed to be of a like mind to him even underneath her veneer of cynicism. Admittedly, he also couldn’t help but be intrigued by the fact that she was a manakete – a shape-shifting dragon.
Of course the Divine Dragon, Naga, the goddess worshipped by a majority of his people had been one. He heard tales of dragons being pivotal in saving the world, as well as being the driving force trying to end it. But he’d never thought he’d see let alone meet one of flesh and blood. And yet, here she was – very much real, intently watching a bubbling beaker of liquid heated by a small flame.
It was sights like this- of her going about her normal business, that made him briefly forget that she was, in fact, a dragon. The only trait she had in this form that marked her as anything other than human were her long, pointed ears – something she’d been hiding before. Their discovery was how she ended up here, really.
Well, they were part of it, at any rate.
Made a reference sheet for my Fire Emblem Awakening OC, Ruka! :)c
IT'S TIME FOR OC SATURDAY
And since she was featured in this week's 'WIP Wednesday', today's OC Saturday is going to be a quick blurb about my Fire Emblem Awakening OC, Meri! (Represented above with a picrew image I made with this Picrew here.)
Meri (and her family) were peasants in the kingdom of the Divine Dragons, and were fortunate that they accepted Dragonstones when Naga attempted to save her people (and the other tribes) through their creation and use. This halted the Degenerative disease that affects all of Dragonkind in those who used them, but at the cost of having to spend most of their time in a more humanoid form rather than their true draconic forms.
Extremely aware of her condition, Meri is very selective about making use of her dragonstone. Instead, she prefers to use elemental magics as her weapon of choice.
She was originally born in what is now Regna Ferox, and when actively masquerading as human, tells people that she is Feroxi in origin. She has has lived all over the continent, but most recently, spent several decades in Plegia before moving back into Ylisse, where she's resided for roughly the past 10 years or so.
While she has an overall fondness for humans, Meri is extremely distrusting of nobility and people in high positions of political and religious authority. She also has some hurt/negative feelings in regards to Naga, her people's last queen (while she's grateful for the Dragonstones that saved her life and several others, she feels Naga overall neglected her people in favor of humans, and while she likes humans and doesn't blame them for that, Meri can't help but feel sore when the subject of Naga comes up. Her opinion is not a common view among Manaketes however - most living Manaketes utterly revere Naga for her work for dragonkind and bringing peace between them and humanity. Because her feelings are a bit of an outlier among both humans *and* Manaketes, she tends to keep them to herself unless someone presses her on the issue).
