People saying that fifa is trying to rig the world cup specifically so that messi wins are missing the point. yes, it's rigged, but it's not just for argentina. the refs are also biased toward portugal, france, and any other team with a big, marketable celebrity at the front. to maximize current and future profits for a sport that's less popular in the usa, fifa needs marketable faces like messi, ronaldo, lamine, pulisic etc in the final matches. that's why we see smaller nations like egypt, croatia, and cape verde getting the brunt of these bad refereeing decisions: because the average American couldn't name a single player from those nations, let alone place them on a map. Why do you think there's a big famous face in every other world cup advertisement?
FIFA doesn't sell football to Americans with football. They're taking the Hollywood approach. They're selling us faces, names, and 5-second viral highlights. Messi, Ronaldo, Pulisic, Mbappe, Haaland, Lamine. The average American isn't going to look into the sport any further than that. And football so-called fans arent that much different. They're all crucifying each other online arguing about whether the FIFA agenda is for Messi or Ronaldo. It's neither. The FIFA agenda is money and it always has been. It's $10,000 nosebleed tickets. It's evading taxes by registering itself as a non profit while selling football tickets at the price of home mortgages. It's not about the players, and it's definitely not about the football

Thinking about that Oscar Isaac interview where he says Victor abusing a newly born Creature doesn't register to him as hurting someone else, someone separate because he sees Creature as an extension of himself.
I wonder if Niall and Ruben see themselves causing hurt and pain in the other as another act of self sabotage rather than hurting a separate different person.
whereās that indiewire review that called half man a 6 hour dire slog or whatever. they really werenāt lying. #mydireslog
HEARTWARMING: brother who will probably murder you in cold blood very soon is proud of you for being gay
YOU GUYS. WE GOT THE DOUBLE MURDER. THEY FUCKING KILLED EACH OTHER
This has been going on for thousands of years! It doesn't change.
