I'll never get over how Ayrton's lowest moment with him desperately spinning that "if you no longer go for a gap" line while fully aware he's lying, somehow got preserved and elevated to iconic status
I think this moment really highlights how much more complicated he was than his media image. and how his philosophy and presentation can outweigh literal facts in people's eyes
Just remember Alain said it an interview "It would be a personal win for me if I was able to convince Ayrton there was more to life than racing" like JAIL, straight up JAIL, you can't say things like that and expect me NOT to crash out
TF1 commentary during the 1992 German Grand Prix [x]
Prost: Mansell's now fully in Senna's slipstream. Let's see how Senna responds. He'll place himself a little bit on the right, in the middle of the track, to force Mansell on the outside... But here, the Williams's top speed seems much higher than the McLaren's... Moncet, as Senna reappears in front: No!! Not at all!! Prost (chuckles): Yes, he did the same thing he did to me last year. Moncet (laughs): I was about to say! Van Vliet: At the same place too! Prost: But here he did it by the book, he doesn't seem to have moved from his line, he just forced Mansell on the outside. Van Vliet: Let's pay attention to Mansell because when he has a car in front of him, he tends to blow a fuse! Remember Montreal this year, the only time— Confused screams as Mansell goes off track. Prost: Oh dear... Moncet: Mansell goes straight!! It was bound to happen! Good guess, Pierre, it's starting! Senna really has a knack for annoying Mansell.
Bonus: As always, Prost smiling while recounting how Senna likes to torture him.

can't stop thinking about alain being sandwiched between '88 Senna and '94 Senna
Once Senna knew he'd been vetoed by Prost, he wasted little time in telling the world about it at Spa [1992], and he added that being locked out of Williams almost certainly meant he wouldn't race in F1 in 1993. Senna said at Spa: "As of today I won't be driving next year. After trying for sometime to put together a deal, and I honestly believe that Williams and Renault want to put it together, I've learned that I won't be able to. Prost simply doesn't want to compete with me in the same car, maybe because he knows that it's tough to beat me in the same car, and he has to have a different one. That is said, because considering that Williams is so far technically ahead, it means I have no alternative way of competing against Prost in another car. If I was in the same car, then we would have a fantastic championship like we had in '88 and '89, a big fight. I certainly would like to have the opportunity to see how good I could be next year, competing with Prost again. Things could be turned upside down and I have no hurry, but as of today, I won't be driving."
