Jordyn fluttered around the apartment, unable to sit still. To say she was nervous - oh, God, why am I so nervous? - was an understatement. At least with Livia around, the nerves wouldn’t be so bad. At least with Livia around, she could distract herself from thinking about the new feelings she tried so hard to hide; not only from Braxton - because they were just friends, he didn’t have the same kind of feelings, right? - but from herself. But Livia won’t be around, so you need to get it together. In one last attempt to ease the anxiousness, she stepped outside onto her apartments tiny balcony for a quick cigarette; the air was still warm, but less humid than it had been during the day - it was refreshing and calming and soothing. As she stubbed out her cigarette, she heard the heavy knock at the door. A few seconds had passed and Braxton hadn’t entered her apartment as he usually would - the two usually always just walked right in. When it was obvious to her that he was waiting for her to answer, she ran her hands down the sides of the material of her red dress, straightening and smoothing it down. She made her way back inside, closing the balcony door behind her before walking to the front door. A deep breath out and she opened the door, a wide grin spread across her face. “Hey,” she greeted him, holding the door open and stepping aside to let him.
Braxton was mentally cursing himself because he wasn’t this guy-- since when did he start getting flustered and nervous around girls? Let alone around Jordyn, who he’d known since he was young. Sure he knew why (he wasn’t blind to how he felt around her), but he’d never been like this before. As he stood outside her door, he really wondered why he was acting like an idiot right now because they’d erased waiting for the other to open the door years ago. This all didn’t prepare him for when he finally saw the door open and his best friend was suddenly in his view. He really couldn’t help the way he stared, he wished he could but she was standing in front of him in a red dress and looking-- he wasn’t sure he had the words. “Hey,” he breathed out as he grinned at her. He moved into her place before he wrapped an arm around her. Braxton could admit to being a little bit of a tactile person, so he tried not to think to much as he pressed a kiss to her forehead and held her close for a long moment. “You look great.”
